  1. The similarities are remarkable, but then so are most of the elements that you will find in a usual zombie apocalypse. Still nice a find
  2. I am for canned dogfood http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=15453
  3. What's wrong with good old fashion guard duty? It needs a lot of organisation, you need players that can be on a server round the clock. Just like in the real world a base camp needs guards or at least a mobile team that keep travelling between outposts to keep an eye on them. Tent cities, especially with vehicles are usually easy to find and gives rich pickings, single tents dotted around the map are lot harder to find. Still my opinion is that if you are not willing to keep an eye on your loot while you are somewhere else gathering more loot than you deserve it to have stuff stolen from you. And don't come with that those people are bandits as well, its a dog eat dog world, thieves are certainly not more worse than players who kill if nessecary to get their hands on more loot. NPC's to guard loot camps make the problem of loot hoarders worse, it defeats the idea of perma death because it makes even easier to have a huge arsenal of weapons, ammunitions and other supplies.

    Top 3 Suggestions

1 Teargas & Gasmasks. 2 Baton (gives broken bones) 3 Molotov cocktails
  5. The major flaw lies in taking PvP out of a game that is basically PvP. And the experiment that this game is, is about the interaction between players when the social constraints are lowered or actually completely removed. Frans de Waal once said that if you put 20 randomly selected chimpansees in a train wagon than only one will come out alive. Every unknown chimp is a threath to another chimp. We as humans do a lot better, we can sit with 20 others unknowns in a train. But we need social constraints for that, in some countries that works better than in others, but even then there is no garantuee that these constraint control the fear and our mistrust of the unknown monkey in front of us. At this stage the game is PvP with (some) added PvE thrown into it, but in a realistic setting, no balancing of firepower in this game, some have it all and most of us have almost nothing other than that they may engage in some group efforts in order to survive, but so will those who have it all, actually those who have it all will most likely be more succesfull in forming groups and becomming dangerous to the others. That's the experiment at this moment.

    Where Are All the Animals

I wish I had a refrigirator truck, if I shot every animal I see than I could fill that truck with ease.

    Teargas & Gasmasks

Maybe I am a bit old-fashioned when it comes to gasmasks, the last I used one was on a reservist training, some 17 years ago. I don't think I would meet Nato-standards these days, within 9 seconds putting your gasmask on. For that matter the last time I fired live rounds was 4 years ago, in South Korea of all places. Anyway, I think there should be some balancing in the use of gasmasks and teargas, the suggestion that you should only use a mask for a limited amount of time comes from my own experience, that they are uncomfortable over a longer period of time. I don't mind seeing some of that realism in this game & mod.
  11. *BS* I killed bandits ingame with a Macaroni (Makarov) because they simply let me come up close and put the barrel to the back of their heads and between their ears if you push hard enough. Every weapon kills, and if you are good enough you don't even need top equipment and weapons.

    Teargas & Gasmasks

Some types of gas do tend to stick around, especially blistering agents like mustardgas. But it also depends on weather, type of terrain and sometimes even time of day. And gasses are also spread as a fine mist of droplets, evaporation of those droplets takes longer than just the agent in gasform to disperse. Nerve gasses can not only be inhaled, but droplets of it will enter the bloodstream via the skin, it takes only bit longer to kill you unless you or one of your buddies is able to inject you with a Atropine-injector (just like the Morphine and Epi-pens in DayZ). For full protection you would need a NBC suit (hot, cumbersome, exhausting), with teargas its enough to have a gasmask.

    Teargas & Gasmasks

As a area denial weapon teargas should do i guess, Sarin or VX woud just be another deadly weapon in the arsenal, and a permanent effect would mean that it is just another version of barbed wire or tanktrap, so I would rather see that the effect fades away after a while. At the moment the zombies are attracted to smoke-grenades (wich is a fun thing to see them all standing and staring at that hissing grenade), for them a teargas grenade would be just another smoke grenade, however blinding their senses for a moment or 2 would be a good idea.

Just for the fun of it!

Rocket, could you introduce cans with Dogfood. It won't add anything other than the idea that you are eating dogfood if nothing else is available. The most famous can of dogfood in cinematic history. And I made a label for that can of dogfood. Off course it based on the can of dogfood that Max eats in the movie "The road warrior" [attachment=1496][attachment=1498][attachment=1497][attachment=1499] Edit: Also gave the other cans the dirty look. And accoording to the Urban Dictionary Dinky Di: Australian Bush Vernacular: To stress truth; true blue; for Real; speaking the truth. No! SHE came onto ME mate, dinky di, I wouldn't lie mate, really! true blue

Glooming eyes for zombies at night

I take it that you are volunteering to run up to those Zeds and stick glowsticks in their eyes. Cat eyes only reflect light because of a reflective layer behind their retina, and even then only if they are being lit with a lightsource shining towards him. Doing that with a Zed wil have rather predictable result with them. So you might as well use flare, flashlights, chemlights or best of all a NVG.
  21. No, no and again no.
