    Build 1.7.2 Rolling Update

    Question, I still have to update, wich I will do manually. But I hear that are these problems with the regular Arma II game, and that the editor does not work properly. No one of the better things with Arma is that you can edit your desktoplink with the Mods you want to start with, so I have a link with only the Vanilla version, a link with ACE and others and one linking only to DayZ. Question is, is it DayZ that is causing the problems or is it the Beta-patch that is causing the regular Arma II to act up? If it is the latter than I am actually not that keen to update to the latest Beta-patch.

    I hope it won't turn into a hotfix fest like last time but I wil wait another 24-36 hours before updating and playing again.

Imagine you and your pal in a treeline overlooking Cherno before you go in to loot the hospital, down there in the field is a horde of zombies wandering around because you just dropped the poor bugger they where chasing, and suddenly your pal says: "Do you think it it the right time to mention that I want to change my gender", It could be straight out of a Monty Python sketch. Squad, Camp it up!

    Miles apart when it comes to game play. And I would not hold my breath for it.

  8. Lovely, more oppertunities for the lone wolfes who prowl the North regions. If there is one thing you can learn from the Walking Death is that permanent settlements are difficult to maintain, and they usually don't have to move house because of the Zeds becomming obnoxious, its the others. This will restore a bit of the balance between different types of gameplay, hoarders have to learn to make smaller camps, if possible and practical guard them round the clock or at least during times when the server is crowded, wich will be during daytime most of the time. This is where barbed wire, tanktraps, sandbags and the new beartraps will come in to play, use them wisely, if you do than it will be possible to guard a camp with only 1 or 2 persons, and leave it unattended at nights. So are you going to fence in a good loot spawn or the place where you store your loot?
  9. No. DayZ is PvP with some elements of PvE added, not the other way around. People will kill for food, weapons, because you are about to expose their position to others and for the lulz. Can we for once have a game that is brutal, difficult, hard and unforgiving. So screw bandit-skins, killing side effects and other things that might suit the carebears. Either you learn and adapt to this type of game play, in other words you learn to survive in the way that is most suited for this game, or I would suggest that you go play something else. Yes the game has its bugs and glitches, exploits and hacks, they need to be adressed and where possible fixed, the one thing that does not need fixing is the idea behind this mod. The idea of tagging players for the amount of kills is idiot, I am a survivor who is at times nervous, cautious, unpredictable and ruthless.
  10. A watch may seem useless as a tool, but with the sun shadows and a bit of boyscout knowledge you will be able to find rough directions. Clouds do not travel eastwards, this is not minecraft, but creepers and zombies are everywhere they only changed the creepers in to other players.
  11. In general the nights are pitch black in Chernarus, as in won't see your own shoelaces.
  12. A DayZ Lite version? Yes and those who play the lite version should get a tag once they log into a normal server saying "Lite Player!". And the only way to lose that tag is that you have to die at least 10 by the means of murder before you get rid of that tag.
  13. Ended up in the debug wildernis again, I made it back to the map, but damn, this is not funny with a 19 day old survivor. I will now wait until its up and running 100%, any idea on the ETA of the 1.7.2 patch wich should at least remedy the wildernis spawn?

    My 2 cents (1.7.1.5)

    Has been playing for 2 days, try harder, come back in a week or 2. The first days for me where Die, died and died again. And now, in the last 4 weeks I have been killed only once (wich was my own fault, careless, taking chances in daylight, and it got me a well deserved death as a result).

    DayZ analysis

    There is no easy start in this game, you either learn and adapt or you die rather quickly, and die again, and again until you have learned your lesson and start making less mistakes. If the zombie apocalypse was a real thing and it did occur than 95% of the population would dead within hours to a few weeks at the most. The breakdown of society would be swift and brutal. When it comes to the game, take the following 3 rules in mind. 1. The other did not become a topdog by being passief. 2. the other became a topdog by being ruthless, efficient and merciless. 3. The other one will think that the first two rules apply to you. In other words, trust no one, don't assume and above al go unseen, unheard and unnoticed. People yelling "Friendly?" might as well say "Shoot me".

    THIS GAME IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR NOOBS

    Single player -> Mission editor, come on please. You can explore at leisure the whole damn country from the comfort of a car or helicopter without being harrased by noobs, bandits and zeds. Arma (and its predecessor OFP) have never been easy. And DayZ makes it even a bit harder, because it is a unlimited duration mission without an clear Blufor vs Opfor, there is no goal other than to survive as long as possible. Tons of loot won't save you from a lucky noob with a Macaroni, and that's not the fault of the noob.
