I should really say; thanks for the replies. I decided to let my pc rest yesterday, so I tried this morning to join another server I've played on earlier. No framedrops at all. Not by looking at bushes close-up, not by running in the city, nothing. It was smooth. This was on pretty low settings, with shadows turned off, antialising(?) off, and even the grass (clutter) off. Then I decided to try the problem server, which actually was a vanilla server, but I think it's been moded a bit with weather and such, (I've never encountered snow on any other server). And what do you know? A steady 35+ fps with the exact same settings as the previous mentioned server. I didn't do anything. I did changes yesterday, then spoke to you guys on the forum, then turned off my pc for a day, booted it up, and now it's smooth. I don't think it was due to overheating either, without actually knowing or not, because I tried to play in the morning, like I did now, so the pc couldn't be hot.

My laptop is fairly new, and if I need a new cpu it doesn't explain why after I reformated my drive I can play on highest settings without trouble, and after a month till half a year I can only play on normal or low. The fps were nearly unchanged when I mixed the settings (turning on or off shadows, antialiasing(?), preferable settings, and so on. By fuller and fuller I was thinking when the (C:) disk (local disk) got less and less space. How much memory I could store. Right now I have an SSD which when empty I have 224 GB available, but now I have 147 GB available = more than 50 % left. I've read that having less than 1/4 (25%) of the available disk space may cause fraps to drop, so I try to keep it as empty as I can.

gynther19 started following FPS problem. Tried everything

I know this is a common problem, there are lots of threads out there, and believe me; I have read them all. Firstly; I have a decent computer, I have played DayZ and ArmA 2 for over a year now with normal settings. After I bought my computer I played on the highest settings without lag, but the fps dropped more and more the fuller my PC got. I now play on a stable 25-35 fps in and around cities. That is untill yesterday. Suddenly I play with 6-8 fps when looking at bushes, and tops 15 fps when I'm running in the wild. In the cities, oh the cities. It's impossible to play. There's no way I can play with such low fps. And I have tried everything. I reformated my laptop a while ago, when the fps were pretty shitty. Afterwards I could play on the highest settings again. Then it drops more and more, and suddenly yesterday it's impossible to play. Here's my specs: (Sorry for bad translation) Graficsprosessor: GeForce GT 650M CPU: Intel® Core i7-3740QM CPU @ 2.70GHz Memory: 8,00 GB RAM (7,89 GB available) Operativesystem: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit I have the latest update of drivers: GeForce 335.23 When I say I have done everything, I mean; - Played with the settings - Reinstalled the game - Ran a virus-scan, disc-cleaner, CCleaner, deleted files, etc. - Written in commands for ArmA 2, ArmA 2 OA, and DayZ Commander. These are the commands; -maxMem=2047 -maxVRAM=2047 -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 - Unparked my CPU's with this tool: http://www.coderbag.com/Programming-C/Disable-CPU-Core-Parking-Utility - Even deleted the grass, which actually didn't help. (I moved the "Clutter" files from ArmA 2 files in the documents). The two most recent pages I've read and tried are these: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154330-possible-fps-enhancer/ http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/169186-unpark-your-cores-possible-fps-boost-incoming-multicore-cpus/ I'm lost guys. I play on the campaign on both ArmA and Operation Arrowhead with no trouble. FPS only drops sometimes when dust from helicopter swirls up in the air, but nothing else.

"Wait for host" and "Session lost"
gynther19 replied to gynther19's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Okey, don't know what has happened, but I can join the server now without problems. Some of the things I did was; - Making a new character to join - failed. I did however spawn on the save place on my last characters possition. - Re-downloading DayZCommander (which I used), and downloaded PlayWithSix for comparison - failed - Updated ALL of the ArmA2 patches (ArmA2, ArmA OA, DayzCommander, ArmA2 OA Beta patch) - failed - Spoke to the admin, who said he was going to try something - failed - Re-downloaded the whole game, DayZCommander, beta patches in the correct order - failed And suddenly one day, about 18 days since I couldn't join I tried connecting, and voila! I'm in. No idea how, but guessing re-downloading and writing to admin who did something to your character had something to do with it. Sorry that I could'nt help on the cause, but hoping the re-installation is enough. At least all the other steps does not work, so you would'nt have to try them and save some time. -
"Wait for host" and "Session lost"

Alright, a little update on the matter. Today I got further in the game, to the point where it is all black, but you're JUST about to load the environment and get the HUD. So I could actually switch radio channels from "Group" to "Side" and write to the admin. I explained the situation, he said he would look into it and do some fixes, and "release" the fixes on the servers next restart. I can't tell if he has done it or not, cause I'm still not able to get past the wait for host situation. I did however download the latest update, thank you very much Svenskunganka, to the latest beta patch. I followed the instructions in the Readme file, I confirmed the update by entering the game and looking in the bottom right corner, but I still can't join the server, AND I can't find it when I search for it via Arma2, only in dayzcommander. With the latest beta patch I am still able to join other servers as usuall, but still not that server. -

When I try to join via DayZCommander it says "Required version; 1.192 up to date", and via Arma2 OA it says "Version 1.62 - Required 1.62.102591". Don't think the host have put in a curlybracket, because I'm the only one not being able to play, or at least, many others are still able. I don't think re-installing the game and mod will fix things, because things are working. Everything is working actually, exept that server. And also, I don't want to re-install it, because that shit takes forever. -
Alright, I have searched the web for something like my problem, but nothing that could help me. I've played DayZ via DayZCommander, when suddenly the host/ admin wanted to restart the server because of a problem. We all left, and after an hour or so I saw the server was up and running. I tried to connect, but got stuck on the "Wait for host" screen. This happened several times before I tried to connect to other servers. Each and every other server I tried to connect to worked. This was the only server I couldn't join, and also the only server me and my friend play on. I waited to the next day, tried to log in, and voila! I passed the "Wait for host" screen. But alas. When it came to "Requesting Authentication" it stopped, a minute passed and the "session lost" message came up. Happened several times, tried to enter other servers, it worked on every one, but not in this one. I've tried for 4 days now and the message just switch between "wait for host" and "session lost". - I have uploaded to the last update on both ArmA2 OA, and DayZ - I have also reinstalled the update on both of the above - I have tried to log in via both ArmA 2 and DayZCommander through the 4 days - The problem the admin wanted to fix should be fixed, because the server is crowded like before
