Hi, name's Connor ingame. Hardcore survivor, very friendly yet forever cautious. (Caution = Long Lasting Life.) Sharing supplies with those in dire need of them (See an incapacitated player with zombies all around = must help and get him / her back on his / her feet). Never shooting on sight, always trying to avoid having to kill other players (will be forced to if you prove to be hostile or not lower your weapon as you aim towards me.) Hope to see all of you friendlies on my adventures :P

That poor damned bloody bastard.

Seems to me like the little pip-squeaks were newbies that they used side channel's VOIP, and gave away their position, or a place where they would meet up.

Best gun for player hunting
ThatCampingOwl replied to Mr Yoloswag's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In any game that has weapons - There is no, never was and never will be any "best" weapons, it's a matter of preference, if I'm comfortable with using a certain weapon then i will no doubt get a kill with it easily, it doesn't even have to be a sniper riffle. -
It will be amusing to watch the bandit body count pile up.

Hi Nooblar :D I'd recommend you start playing on servers with relatively low population, get to know the community and the inner-workings of multiplayer in this game, once you feel comfortable enough to surround yourself with potentially merciless players go ahead and move up to the servers with the higher population. Just a little note, because if you pop into a heavily populated server as a New Bambi (Newbie and a defenseless player) you Will get swarmed, few won't care if you have an empty can in your hands or a DMR (most powerful sniper riffle) - shoot on sight. Some will simply ignore you as you pose no harm. Very few will back you up when you need help the most. And even fewer players can be trusted ;) My tip: Use extreme caution until you get a good grip on the game. :)

Does Anybody want to Team up??? Is so add me on skype @Jared_Paquette123

I would advise treading with caution as nowadays there are more than enough... pathetically immature players, who will pretend to be friendly until a point where they stab you in the back and steal your loot, caution is always advised with random players, you never know who's a lying scum and who's an honest man of his word. -
Alrighty, Been playing for quite a while (I must admit, i was a DayZ Pirate until about a week ago or so) and after joining my first server, i had every icon / meter (blood, food, thirst) full apart from the Temperature Icon... from the very first moment of spawning i had the Red Temperature Icon that's supposed to indicate that my family jewels are now snowballs and i have icicles sticking out of my nostrils. So i went ahead and found my first Heat Pack, used it, "Successfully applied" it to my body, and the meter didn't change, found just under a dozen of those and used them again - nothing changed. Eventually i just said screw it and ignored it, but when hypothermia set in as i was rolling through the mud and pig diarrhea on a farm looking for resources in the middle of a rainstorm, it became apparent to me that the Temperature Bar = Lies x 2. So i created a camp fire in hopes of warming up as i haul ass for antibiotics, and i didn't warm up one bit (or so said the Temperature Icon). ...Got my hands on the antibiotics, stopped coughing my lungs out, tried to warm up again with Heat Packs and a Campfire and still no affect... So what the hell is wrong with the HUD? The Temperature Icon is Always Red no matter what. How can i get it to stop lying to me and show me if I'm about to turn into an ice sculpture or I'm hotter than the sun. ps: I also don't see the "Debug Screen" either - if it's at all relevant.

Temperature Icon is... broken

O.o ah, alrighty, thanks guys :D -
the "Stop Code" can give you the Exact reason for why that BSOD popped up, write it down and after restarting your PC google it, it will tell you what's up, the most common reason is outdated drivers or missing drivers, just run that "Stop Code(s)" > Find out the reason > Look for ways to resolve the issue and everything's fixed :) I've had a few BSOD issues, the Stop Codes pointed directly at the Graphics Drivers, so i updated them and the BSOD hasn't returned since :o (I'm not a techy person, just going by my own experience with BSOD :P)

Bought this game today, and WAS NOT ABLE TO PLAY, not even get into a map. All because every single server is either using a different version OR it has some kind of file that I'm missing. Can steam not update the game itself? I tried this: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/29401-guide-steam-to-those-spawning-invisible-no-debug-errors-beta-update/ To get the game updated (from: ARMA2_OA_Build_103419.zip) to the latest version (ARMA2_OA_Build_103718.zip), every time i try to patch it it says "WRONG CD KEY" every damned time. I tried DayzCommander, as i filtered it to not show Locked (password) servers and do not show servers that don't meet my version, i got 0 Hits, Not a single bloody server is available to me. You can clearly see i am extremely frustrated and am one step away from dropping F bombs all over the place, first Standalone got postponed and now i can't even play a single game on any server with the Arma 2 Dayz Mod. Yes i am running "Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead Beta" as i try to play the game (saw it as one of the "solutions" to fixing this version mess-up) as every other game launcher failed, i tried playing via "Arma 2" nothing "Arma 2: Dayz Mod" nothing "Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead" nothing. As i run DayZCommander the first thing that pops up says: "It doesn't appear you have Arma2 Combined Operations installed and/or you have not started the game manually first. Would you like to purchase Arma2 Combined Operations right now?" 1. I ran Both "Arma 2" and "Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead" before even installing "Arma 2: DayZ Mod" via steam. 2. I BOUGHT "Arma 2: Combined Operations" via steam already and now it's asking me to buy it again? W.T.F. Can someone tell me what the devil is going on and how to i fix this so i can play already and not feel like I've just flushed 20 Euros (Arma 2: Combined Operations) down the toilet?

Thanks for all of the help you guys are providing me with, please accept my apologies for letting the stress get to me and make me sound ungrateful. Keep up the good work :) Thanks again for all the help you've provided me with! Played for 7 hours straight (would've played for the usual 10+ hours but i haven't slept for 36+ hours) got into a ton of epic and memorable events including meeting a new friendly buddy on a server and working to build our car after which we filled it up and fixed it up so much that it's a Holy Grail of loot on wheels (meds, food, drinks, ammo, weapons, tools). In short, a TON of excitement. :) Thanks to all of you guys! Hope to meet you all in DayZ under friendly circumstances! x) -

Given the current mood i was not all about making a good first impression, for the moment I've managed to put myself into a playable server, still - not declining any additional help that may come my way for future piece of mind. -

You think i didn't expect someone as predictable as you to say that? How about an answer to the question if you have one.
