Remember the dayz mod where we had tents.. what happened to tents?
-
Lets hire someone to get on it then lol.

Beards should automatically grow over time, and require "razor" "a water bottle , and or shaving cream" to shave..

Personally I felt the car trunk to be a horribly executed way for searching for loot, I miss the old method of simply opening the gear to the vehicle. Half the time I see something in the car and I can't even pick it up
-
It would take less time because you could only hit the containers that held the type of loot you are looking for.

I remember in this game called metro 2033, they had these radiation and gas zones that required a gas mask to enter, would be cool if we had similar.. so that it perhaps had more and better loot, but required specific gear to enter.. In metro they dealt with this by requiring the player to first have a working mask and then have a constant supply of canisters that was measured by a timer on your watch when the can runs dry, you replace it or suffocate would be cool to see an inspired idea in dayz. AND THEY THINK THE PAYDAY 2 MASKS LOOKED COOL? You should have seen the ones in this game!

Hey guys new masks for game would be cool.

EVER SEEN THE MASKS FROM METRO 2033? They are actually Russian inspired. -
cool

What if the loot only spawned into the server when a player walked up to the "container" and "looted them"
-
Some people keep rifles in their closests in their bedrooms, or even pistols in a side table in the bedroom, so it would be a good idea to have a rare random chance of finding them in such containers.
-
No more randomly placed loot, it would all find a container home.

Okay Well I will break it down for you, also I am charging by the letter to type this so add me to the payroll.. Take a list of all the items in the game, and then walk yourself into any building and think "would i find any of these items in real life in any of these things, and think hard about it, its pretty much common sense.. but here is a little list to help get you started Fridge - Lightbulb - Food (Assorted) - Fruits Assorted - Item Containers (assorted) - Drinks (assorted) - Meat (uncooked) (assorted) Stove ( with top burners) - Portable Gas Stove - Frying Pan - Cooking Pot - Rotten Meats (assorted) - Cooked Meats (assorted) - Charcoal ( can be crafted into tablets) Side Table ( Kitchen) - Canned Foods (assorted) - Rice - Powdered Milk - Fruit - Can Opener - Cooking Pot - Cooking Clock - Frying Pan - Kitchen Knife Side Table (bedrooms) - Watch - Flashlight - Books - First Aid - Water - Pen - Sidearms & bullets for sidearms Closet ( bedroom) - Clothing ( shirts , pants) - Rifles - Protector Case - Backpacks - Wooden Plank - Jackets Garbage Can (Bin) Garbage Can (dumpster) Closet ( living room) - Jackets - Navigation - Duct Tape - Hammer Pen Rope Furnace - Gas - Matches I could seriously sit here and put every loot item into each category, but i'm not getting paid to do this.. and it would be work. There are already thousands of items that Should be loot-able even starting with the First Aid Kits that appear on walls, from the garbage cans outside, to the fridge, closest, furnace , toolbox, side tables, kitchen cupboards, and so on and so forth.

Whats next?? perhaps they should just put power rangers costumes in the game to then, and people are going to say "they look cool don't remove it, if you don't like it don't wear it. This is dayz we can dress up however we want man! smh...

Or are the credits always just going to say " Dayz Created by Dean Rocket Hall" i rolled my eyes when i read this.
-
normally when a developing team creates a game, it lists the people who have done what thus far.. yes even alphas have credits..
-
why are payday masks in dayz? This was a top search in google
-
is there at least 100 people working on this game? Can you provide me with a link to the credits that is more than "bohemia interactives logo" next to "dayz created by dean rocket hall

I noticed that all of the cities and town names are in foreign language, yet the descriptions of items in my inventory are in english. Where am i anyway?

Even to take it a step further you know that there is a need to hire more people when you have a whole bunch of russian forum users putting together a massive suggestion manual of fixes and solutions https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JlZ1VYYChUTcB-7yN1jqh6WEzNan8OiG9qvrZdMto-4/edit?pli=1# There is alot of work to do, and I just want to make sure people are in place to get it done.
-
I guess I just want to be on the payroll to help actually see these suggestions end up in the game. Instead of simply just accepting that it is alpha and not at least having an expression or give input. I know that most of these ideas that I have could probably be covered if they have a bigger dev team, but I worry still. Yes it is alpha, but they need to make sure that they go in the right direction, starting with hiring people who can help to maintain that direction, starting with the very very basic system optimizations so that one day you will have a really solid game. Even when I walk into houses I am like, okay I should be able to search this fridge, instead of pickup items that are floating everywhere then I think, okay this door in this room needs to be removed because it doesn't lead anywhere. and I think, okay how many people are working on this game, there is alot of work to do.. how do I get on payroll

Currently individual items are being scattered throughout the world, many of which are floating or cannot be reached "on top of locker or under bed, or floating halfway between wall, or do not appear until walking up to empty space and they suddenly appear in front of you on the ground or slightly above it. Create objects that can be searched instead of individual items placed on the ground These objects can be programmed to randomly "dispense items" that only appear while "looting the object" such as cupboards, trashcans, bins, dumpsters, lockers, crates, boxes, weapon lockers, tool kits, and have items randomly spawned inside of "said containers" based on the area found and type of container being searched It should be: When a player searches an object, a search animation begins, and depending on the object being searched items relative to the type of container will appear in the loot menu" Lets say a player walks into a house, and there are 4 containers, a kitchen fridge, a storage shed toolbox, an old weapon display case, and a pantry. The player walks up to the fridge and begins to loot, after a small animation and wait time, the fridge randomly generates items, "some old cheese, stale bread, a lightbulb, and food container. These items will only show to that player, and have a chance to be different if another player searches it, but have a very high chance of being similar. Instead of these items showing up on the floor or actually inside the fridge, they only show up in the "loot menu that appears when pressing "tab" the player can then drag the items into their inventory or choose to leave them. If the player leaves and comes back the fridge could have new items after a certain time has passed, or just has a percentage to generate items each time. and then a container cool down timer, if a player recently searched the object, only those items would appear until the cool down timer expires and then new items could appear. these containers can automatically clean themselves, if one person searches objects they might produce something different than another item, for the simple fact that one person could be better at looking or even implemented as a hidden skill. I don't feel that spawning individual objects across the world is the best way to go about it. Lets make containers instead!

How to improve Loot Spawns / Item placement

Lets look at the facts DayZ has sold more than a million copies, The development team consists of basically one guy making all the decisions. People like Frankieon1080p on other you tubers are the reason why the game had so much hype without any form of compensation. There are so many improvements and things that could be down with a much larger and more experienced team to really get this game into a much more suitable build within a very short timeframe. The game mod, is more stable than the standalone alpha The standalone game [addonfiles] files are nearly identical as the mod. People more experienced will get the game better, faster. There are so many aspects that will require many many many more people than the current size of the development team You will have full time people working on the game that don't have other jobs, don't take trips to mount everest during development time frames ect.

I can accept them as a placeholder, or as a rare easter egg.. then again I guess I need the "alpha reminder" However I look at the DayZ mod that has been released for several years as the alpha, So i sometimes forget that "this is the alpha" and the years since then I wonder " so what have they actually been working on, because when I look at the actual files in the game most of them are exactly the same as the mod.

I think the masks could be even more suitable, instead of directly imported from another game. specifically we are walking around in russia and find american flag masks every five feet.
