  1. I pull my hat for this piece of art. Very nice voice acted. Especially the first minutes of the diaries. The poor guy sounds forlorn. I like the focus shots of certain objects while passing by.
  2. YES Give it a shot. Else try it with just 1 or 2 Makarov Mags.
  3. Wow. This topic is a gold mine! Plenty of good ideas. 1. Bullets left in clips need to be stored within character data. (Currently unlimited ammo for guns - Espec. rare ones) 2. Raise AI sound detection radius for gunshots. (Adds more tension when encountering players in towns. "Holy crap! Another survivor." - Just without the insta-pewpew without thinking a step ahead and counting Zeds. ) 3. Raise item re-spawn rate to 30/45/60 minutes. (No more item farming by picking up and dropping it 2 meters away. Forces people to actually roam the Map.)
  4. YES (until a degree) I like the idea with the % chance of not hearing it.

    Pending Update 1.7.1 Details

I really like the changelog so far <3 Although the most important change is missing: -Ammo count of clips is character stored That way we would not have unlimited ammo for rare equipment and would be forced to employ bullets wisely! Codus

I know this may not be directly DayZ Mod related, but is there any chance (since BI is spamming a lot of betas recently) that BI addresses the "easy" hack ability of Servers?

    Deer Stands

I think he should be glad that nobody posted stuff like this. :P http://www.murielanderson.com/gallery/studio-09/Deer_standing_ovation.jpg Anyways it is a legit question, since I've encountered several people already, who could not speak or understand English that well and asked me "What's a deer stand?"
  9. My trusted Mate and myself were crossing Green Mountain the other day, when we suddenly stumbled over another survivor near a deer stand. Since our goal was to scavenge for food, we took the initiative and we snuck into position to wait for him to climb up. "If he has food, we could stay away from Zelenogorsk and just roam the outskirts for some mechanical parts!" The second the unwary survivor reached the top, our silenced MP5 hissed 4 times to cripple his legs. We both shouted out from 2 different locations that he should lower his weapons and turn away from the ladder. To our surprise the wounded survivor complied flawlessly and followed all our instructions and even talked back. Suddenly he shouted "I am going to die here!" and we had to make a decision. So we said he was free to apply a bandage, so we could continue our show. Surprisingly he responded "Shit I ran out of them!" and we sat there being forced to improvise. Since our goal was to just rob him and let him live, we told him to rush down the ladder and wait for us to bandage him. It was a risky decision, but we felt confident enough to cover both our backs by watching his moves closely. Sadly when the second one of us arrived and applied the bandage, he fell over and died from the major blood loss he suffered from his injuries. We got our food, but were a bit disappointed things went this far south for this poor guy. So please take off your hats and share a moment of silence with me for this good sports soul! I am glad that ALT+F4 is not a valid option for everyone out there! Codus
  10. I like the nights as they are. DayZ gives you plenty of (pretty cool) tools to see at night: Flares Flashlights Chem lights The last on the list is the most safest to use, since it can only be spotted very close to you. And that is the main problem. Nobody wants to use their tools, because they fear to get spotted and killed. If we could ensure that everyone has to live under the same visual conditions, then more would decide to use flares or the other tools to see. Then everyone would have to use them to travel around.

0.19% or Why I stoped playing

If you ask me it is the other way around actually. Too much good gear and too much ammunition. If you find a rusty rifle, you should be so damn excited about it, as if you've just found a treasure chest full of gold. Even more if it still shoots straight! This game ain't about farming the best gear, it is about surviving in my eyes. Boring? By far not. Try the role play approach the next time you get in game. You may be surprised what this game can offer. (And especially when you find like minded people) Codus
