Tried it with the ACP one. Could convert Revolver rounds to 1911 mags flawlessly. :-) Glock 17 can use M9 mags now. (Or was it always that way?) But I still have unlimited bullets in my clips *wipes tear*

Try DE12 or DE13. We run Beta 93825 and 1.7.1 If that is not working, double check your Beta version. This morning I forgot to replace the old beta exe with the new one, since I start the game in a weird way :P

FPS drop not due to 1.71 but infact due to the Arma II beta patch 93825

The FPS issue is server side. It already happened way before servers were using the betas. You can easily witness this on servers which run longer than ~18 hours without a restart. This time the bad FPS seems to originate from the new spawn stuff rocket wanted to test. It works well below 15 players, although if you have 50 players this new system smashes the server. -

We spawn without guns. Come on! That must be a joke! I am in a zombie apocalypse! jeeeez! GIVE ME A GUN! And those zeds can see me while sneaking through villages to actually find a gun! And when I finally have a gun, they see me again so I am forced to make noise which then attracts curious survivors! With 1.7.1 we are pretty much screwed ;-( And THAT is exactly what this game was missing! Geared people, armed to the teeth cringe in fear because thinking of zombies, while zeds are sneaking up - then munching their bones and using their precious NVG's as toothpicks. 1.7.0 --> Fucks given = 0 1.7.1 --> Fucks given = omgomgomgomgomgtheysawmeomgomgomgomg EDIT: Oh dear. Missed the most important part: I like!

Bandits roaming freely at the beach unloading freely on defenseless? Isn't that a paradox in itself? Bandits roam the coast stumbling over Bandits and killing each other. I just see a win-win situation then. The REAL bandits head inlands and rob people at point blank range without firing a shot, and if - just to get the message across without killing. The rest are just looters without style, or if they do the respawn-camping, unworthy players of this mod, who most likely stop playing because of not fully grasping the possibilities of this fabulous mod. -
1.7.1 Zombies see too well. Game no fun.

Go prone and sneak like its meant to be sneaky :-) Looting is now WAY more dangerous and I started to wet my pants on a regular basis once again. The first time was as a baby, the second time when I found this mod (sadly just for a short period of time) and the third time is now. You can't rush for loot now and need to watch out for Zeds once again. Before that you just ignored Zeds by going crouched and bee-lined to the beans while looking for other survivors. -
The FPS issues seem to originate from the 1.7.1 reworked zombie spawns. Rocket said something about 24-48hours to fix the issue.

Check if you play with the Beta! Once Arma started, look at your right lower corner. Also there should be ArmaII, OA, @Dayz and Beta on the right side if I remember correctly.

When you join a restarted server too fast, you seem to be joining during the startup phase. (dunno why the server lets you in when it isn't ready yet) This seems to mess up the startup and forces the admin to re-restart. Today I had to restart the server 4!!! times to get it locked before someone made it in to ensure a stable server. -
As long as servers can change their time, there won't be night time servers at all. (At least with more than 10 people on them). The issue is not only "I don't see shit", it is more like "I don't have people to play with and to not see shit with." So something needs to happen on this front. Surprise us with something like you guys always do :-)

I like the nights as they are, although playing alone renders the game boring :-( Actually it forces me to shift the time on our servers, so it won't be dark and empty. -

Try to find a beta-enforced server. That way you won't have to read such idiocy. Saves your sanity. (or simply wait for 1.7.1) That won't save you from being killed, though its not a hassle if you spawn at the beach and die again. Just respawn and get away inlands. There is the fun.

*resists to post all the facepalm demotivationals he knows* That we are even having this discussion about "what a carebear is" *laughs* Call players any names you want. All they aim for is to humiliate another play style you don't like. Play how and what you want. Roleplay this brilliant mod or just rush with your unlimited lifes. Trust others, shoot them in their face or be paranoid. This is legit as long as you have fun. :-)

Arma II hacking has happened since Arma II was released. It was an issue back then and still is today. Same stuff happened when OA was released. Lots of people played OA and therefore a few hacked. Now Arma II is famous for this fabulous mod and guess what : All the old hacks still work. Lots of people play with the Arma II engine and what happens again? Right. The % of hackers reappear. (There are always a base % of hack/cheat attempts in online games based on the community size) So if you hack the Arma II game (what you do if you want to hack DayZ) then you need not to ponder that you are suddenly excluded from online gameplay of ALL Arma II games. Regardless if you just hack a mod or not. The real valid point of this topic is that some of the hacking victims may have been banned as well, for just looting a weapon off a dead body. This is collateral which sadly happens if you want to step up and drive the hackers away.

Yeah I thought about the same idea as well. And if that would be too much of a hassle, then just implement Zeds with PMC /BAF skins every here and then. (Oh put them into the woods! ) But then without useful gear.

<- Loves pitch black nights. Once you see silhouettes of zombies walking at the horizon or use flashlights/flares in forrests to find your way, you will recognize a complete different DayZ atmosphere. An Atmosphere daylight could NEVER give you.

Simplest way to get rid of the SD problem is to address the magically refilling clips in your inventory. Once bullets in mags get stored with the character data, the ammo would be scarce and every bullet would be worth 20 cans of beans.
