  6. Hi All, Just a quick note to the players who use my servers - We had a power failure in the primary data centre which killed power to all my boxes that run DayZ. The power has been restored to the centre and the servers are coming back online now, sorry for the inconsonance. Look, I'm really biting my nails here to stop me slapping the OP around, but I will say one thing you need to understand is traditionally we are given a pretty good selection of tools that we can use to identify issues and hackers, this being ALPHA we have had limited means of detecting and indeed taking action against people suspected of foul play. Time heals all and things are getting better, like Fraggle says - find a server with active admins, I don't want to toot my own horn here but we're pretty active over on mine but you need to find a server that suits what you're looking for.     I'm the admin of US353 and you would never get banned for raiding a camp or even my camp, bad luck to me if you did! Raid away, our fault for not placing it somewhere more decent / defending! :) Cheers All DJ
  19. What's the point of this? We don't have viability through Battleye or logs on 90% of what these people do...

Look from my perspective, I host many DayZ servers and I sit in TeamSpeak listening to people playing on my servers and then all of a sudden people who have worked weeks to get where they are are teleported to one area and destroyed. I understand it's Alpha, I understand ARMA2 is a military simulator and by being that doesn't have some of the safe guards built into it that other games might have. But the fact that someone can simply remove certain files and remove trees, rocks, buildings from the game + teleport, fly around the map and kill people is getting to be a real pain. I'm simply echoing others comments however the few of us who support this game by hosting servers would like to see a little more focus on maybe adjusting the output to the logs perhaps so we can have clearer viability on these hacks so we can take appropriate action. Surely with the amount of ARMA2 patches we've had since DayZ's introduction we can look at possibly logging more information or outputting to another file that records certain things like abnormal travel times across the map or looking at capturing the teleport commands. This might not be possible however I think BIS + DayZ while it may not be your bag, have a serious think about holding off on things like adjusting log out times and speeding up the loading process and look at if there is any ammo you can give server admins to fight the fight and assist in building a solid player base for when this moves to release. At this point I seriously want to save the hassle and turn the servers off for now and wait for something to be done.

  23. Hi All, I need to shift some DayZ servers between physical boxes and interested in which files do I need to copy to make sure that peoples tents etc copy across and I don't wipe the server. Does anyone know? Cheers Sean.
