FR 34 / FR 129 RAID WINE Servers Thread
geryon replied to facoptere's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Facoptere, I had another player with this line: DATE:22.07.2014 00:51:29 GUID:0a7b6ba0a32ecdec281f0cc070cc028d NAME:"Roger That" SOURCE:scripts PATTERN:#13 "DZ_drg_RLact";\nplayer removeAction NORRN_dropAction;\n} else {\nhint "No space left in vehicle";\n};\nNORRN_load_wounded_action = tr" He says it's to do with load/offload unconscious player out of a vehicle. Is it possible that's the cause? -

Nice 31ee2f336b2b79865c58de588d457181 Player 1 came and visited us too. The others haven't thought. Thanks for posting these facoptere. By the way should I be banning these guys with the following pattern? f60734fad6987d6c37d39ed7d5ca0fd8 -1 ExTm_BRODJAGA Plants texture hack for type picea dbe158c24e9c58a494a3a97421a69198 -1 Katie Plants texture hack for type picea 4a44a7dabfe594890b181e02809802cb -1 ClamsSlap Plants texture hack for type picea 007bffd09075b3275597c7b0e07ab641 -1 BaconPC Plants texture hack for type picea EDIT: Oops answered myself I see you older posts you are banning these guys as well. Thank you. -
US 435 is first person only with no cross hairs. So don't forget the step child of US 434. It's not crowded so new players can get a foot hold. Also both US 434 and 435 are hived so if you are feeling lonely on 435 you can always hop and visit. Both servers are on 1.8.2 and unaltered in game play. Content wise the servers are set up as the developers have intended.

As a developer I can understand kichilron's statement. It's hard to diagnose a problem with additional variables in the mix. As kichilron state after it's not meant as a damning statement of using AH. It just makes it more difficult to solve an issue with another piece of code that the dayzmod has no control over with respect to version control.
-
Hmmm in hindsight what I posted is contrary to a kick. Let me talk with a few of the players and try to trap it exactly when it happens.
-
Download from Steam, instructions are at the bottom of the first post.
-
Try launching arma2 and arma2OA via steam right up to the multi-player screen. After you have done both then launch dayzmod from steam and remote connect to this IP: 198.27.83.122 Port: 2342 I'm not promoting my server but just use it as a way to test your connection. Let's solve your connecting first. After we can worry about finding other vanilla servers that suit your locale and preference.
-
Not alone. It's an unfortunate situation that is all too common with a server with a lot of people on it. The good thing it was the first one in a week.

Fortunately I haven't experienced real backstabbing. Knocks on wood. Agree with you on meeting strangers, the skin generally will indicate the type of encounter you'll have. Though once you get to know players and they get to know you, you get a handle of how trustworthy they are. However no matter what the skin I always use caution. If the opportunity exists I take more into consideration their text chat and tone of voice over anything else. Not related to the discussion but a fun one that I enjoy remembering often. One time I was biking on the far west side of the map. I see a player 50 meters from me with an AK. I realize I'm about to die on a bike with crap load of gear. Do I eject from bike and start blasting? Call out friendly in a position of weakness? Nope I ride my bike right past him with zero fucks given. LOL. The guy didn't shoot. Later I find out he thought he was dead. He was off the computer occupied with someone on the phone. Both of us didn't panic thus no one died and we eventually starting cooperating with each like sharing info and gear. These are the type of moments that keep me playing.

Main issue I've seen is that once 1.8.2 came available a lot of the servers switched. Unfortunately DZC and DL are only offering 1.8.1. People simply have not moved over to Steam. It's sad because as the defacto portal for PC games with a track record for longevity people still have not become comfortable using Steam for Dayzmod. A week ago US434 was almost always full with 1.8.1 but since converting over to 1.8.2 the population has died down to half. I've also noticed this with facoptere's servers as well. Conversely when US 3481 came online again it was on 1.8.1 and it immediately took off within a few hours. When Jimmy switched to 1.8.2 the population tanked. I'm confident in saying that at this point the lack of accessibility of 1.8.2 on these custom launchers is hurting the player population. It's not the developers fault but it shows you no matter how easy it is to install and launch with Steam, players will stay with what they are use to. Which frustrates me to no end. Only time will tell if the reliance on DZC will fade.

This is my personal feeling: Humanity doesn't matter. I've met more trust worthy people in the game with -300K humanity then the bandit wannabe survivors running around the coast. Let's say I'm in a clan and I'm the medic. I don't do a lot of killing so my humanity is at hero or near hero status. My mates which I trust with my life are killers. If you are not in our TS or in our group they will take you down with out a blink. We'll prosper at your expense. Whether it's a clan, country, team, etc... within my group these are my friends, providers, and protectors a la 'Freedom Fighters'. To the rest of the people on Chernarus they are a scourge and evildoers. Thus a player who is a proficient killer is my hero if he is on my side. It's really a matter of perspective and thus tracking body count seems too simplistic other than as Epeen meter. I guess what I'm trying to say is that having a global morality meter in a sandbox game felt odd with me.

Anyone know where i can get 1.8 without commander?
geryon replied to VidGames's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Steam: It's the surest way to download and launch dayzmod. or scroll to bottom of the official link http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/206360-dayz-mod-182/ Short version: Steam Right click Arma2: DayZ Mod, select properties. When the window pops up go to the "BETAS" tab Now Select 1.8.2 in the drop down box. The files should now should now update Launch as normal Dayzlauncher and DZC are all behind on the version. -
Server has been on 1.8.2 for about a week. Join and see the new changes from 1.8.1. To play you must use Steam to install the latest patch. Dayzcommander does not support 1.8.1 and I don't know if it will or when. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/206360-dayz-mod-182/ The short version: Steam Right click Arma2: DayZ Mod, select properties. Okay if you have everything turned up check to see if post processing is on or off. If it's on turn it off. It places in motion blur and generally lowers frames. The other anti-aliasing features I turn off because my eyes can't tell the difference in 1080p. However it's up to you if you want to keep them on or maxed out or off.

Happens time to time. Do you have a primary? I've seen it when you don't have one and you have binos. Nothing major though.
-
Are you playing in first person? If you are turn off head bobbing. Also turn off post processing as well. I've never gotten headaches nor know of anyone else from the game but I know many who have gotten dizzy and nauseous in first person. If you don't mind stating your game rig and arma2oa video settings that might help as well.

Okay thank you facoptere.
