I agree. With respect to the perception of how this game is viewed, prioritization on implementing anti-combat logging needs to be raised. "Oh Dayz, is that the game everyone combat logs and flanks you by ghosting"? Probably not the best perception you want leave. This may not be considered a showstopper defect but as public release even as alpha it does contribute negativity to the product. I'm sure it will be fixed or added back but the perception may remain even after it's been addressed. As for now in my opinion it's chronic at the moment and addressing the issue(s) should be priority.

Is it possible to make the map of Chernarus larger? I'm curious because I haven't seen a mod of the mod which extends the footage. If not then that explains why. If it is possible is it simply no one has done it because of the effort to make a well thought out map to be too onerous? I've seen various discussions on standalone with the topic of larger map come across frequently. I would seriously play a private server that remains true to the vanilla but with increased square footage. I've tried other mods of Dayz and usually I'll play it for a week to a couple of months but I always seem to come back to the vanilla version. I realize a larger map isn't that sexy but when I'm on vanilla and playing survivor I yearn for an much more expansive terrain where as a player you are just a speck in the vastness of the country side. Meh maybe I've played too much and I'm just rambling. Sometimes I envy new players who get to experience Dayz for the first time. Everything is new, unfamiliar and scary. As an admin I sometimes get annoyed with impatient with new players who complain about the game's unfamiliarity.

Hey crazykid I had a server relocation with IP change not too long ago and it took awhile to get a recurring player base again but they did eventually come back. -

For me an ideal mod of the mod is a significantly larger map. More interesting areas to explore without affecting loot types and availability. Even distribution of loot would encourage more exploring and avoid choke points like the Chernarus map. Just the sheer vastness would make meeting people a more exciting experience. I would hope this would encourage trading and sharing info about the large play area. On US 434 there is a lot of cooperation and trading going on with regulars. A lot of mutual assistance to increase individual survival chances. However once the server gets busy the killers come in it generally trends into PVP. That's why if the map was larger maybe 30 x 30 or 45 x 45 the texture of game play would remain more survival with a few dedicated and patient bandits. Though I must admit I'm not too sure a map that large is technically or effort wise feasible.

run... I dislike driving cars that have poor offroad due to all the junk debris on the roads. ATVs are nice and normally easy to hide but can be pain when they bump and hump out of good hiding spot.

Just shows how good the Arma 2 engine and the Dayz Mod is. People are thinking of new things to do with it. The only problem is that they can't detach themselves from the zombies. I'm a not big fan of Epoch but from the amount of servers online it is popular. Whether purist like it or not this mod seems to pluck a cord with the masses.

Hehe. Are you the same Ozelot that hung around US 434 for a bit? I noticed you on Stakeland Epoch the other day (assuming the same guy) while I was helping the admin out with his mods and stuff. Only reason why I ask is because your slant on humor is very similar to the guy that had the same name. -

Chernarus is a small map. It's only 15x15 km map. For this size 12-20 is ideal for me as well. Anything more you are bumping into people without even trying. That's the beauty of this game depending on the population of the server you can get totally different game play.
