That explains it, lost a few things in the store when picking up a new BP. Yesterday I found a Coyote pack in the middle of the runway, stopped to open it and lost my pack and everything that wasn't in inventory, wierd thing was there was a scout pack IN the coyote!?!?!

If you can get all three of you on Skype, you can talk to each other w/out anyone else in the game listening in. Also by cycling through the chat channels (press ,) you can choose "Direct Communication" and speak to each other if you are within...what is it 75 meters??? Don't worry I will be corrected shortly if I am wrong. Good luck and don't become discouraged when you are killed...and you will be killed.

I've been blathering on about DayZ to a friend for some time now and last night I had an opportunity to show him,but I wanted to make a big impression I we connected my latop to his 52" lcd TV via an HDMI cable...no sound. Killer picture, but we couldn't get any of the game sounds. I played a Bluray rip I had on my HD just fine but going back to the game I got nada. I know all HDMI cables are not created equal, but they should all carry the signal and I should get the sound...right? Is there some "in the game" settings I need to change?

I got infected last night without being hit! The viral zed was charging and I dropped him at least two meters from me but still got the infection. I'm cool with the infection deal but I think it's a bit over the top.

If loot spawns in the forest and no one's around, does it make a sound? No, it doesn't spawn until a player is in close proximity. One indicator is if there are zombies close, there's a good chance for loot, but I've seen the opposite as well. I play at odd hours and sometimes I am the only player on the server which often forces me to "walk" slowly and actually make laps around my untended loot site. I've scouted buildins to find no loot and then after several minutes of walking returned to find the same site full. Hope this makes sense...I've had waaaay too much coffee today.

Have any of you found one of these? I run across 100 round boxes and belts but have never seen the weapon...what fun if I do...Muahahahahaha!!! Sorry, any excuse for a manacle laugh.

I do and don't get it. I know the higher the ping the poorer the game play and the greater the chance of getting kicked by Battle eye, but what I don't get is when i'm selecting a server in commander and my ping is green...say 145, however when I click on it it shoots up 200, 300+. Or when I'm playing at a low ping and after an hour or so, sometimes less I get kicked off for too high a ping. Now to quantify things I do play often with my laptop tethered to my phone. I live in a very remote area with broadband still four to six months away. Pretty sure relying on verizon's towers isn't helping me any.

After looting a deer stand I simply pressed "S" before scrolling to "climb down ladder" fell to my death...respawned and did it again at the station house!

I use a wine opener myself and yes, I've come back expecting to be 1000m up country to find I haven't made it across the highway!

Hey sesthdude Welcome and beware...I've developed quite an addition to DayZ. Not sure what your looting style is like but if your running either in crouch or standing up you may be moving too fast for loot to spawn. It was a mistake I made early in the game, on some servers you need to take it slow and even make a few laps around choice loot sights in order to allow the loot to spawn. Bueno suerte/good luck

Funny...just found an M249 at a barracks at the NWAF...coincidence? I think not. You need to kill all the zekes in the area....it's loud and they all come running.

Increased chance of infection combined with Mike Tyson Zombie punches are a drag, throw in a bunch of AI bandits along w/the human varety and it's a bitch to stay alive -
I've walked by some of the buildings and in fact entire neighborhoods from Electro in my dreams...a bit unsettling.

Never thought of taking a nap in a barracks or apartment...most likely wake up dead. I died two days after pitching my tent so that option is out...unless, if you pack and repitch your tent will it reset?

Looting when I should be moving...ie when legging it to a camp or stash and you pass too close to juicy loot source I find I can't simply run/drive by, it usually ends poorly.

Infection is a drag...ususally when my vision starts to go I through myself off something tall. Need a "shoot yourself in the head" option.

There still are some 1911s in service, however an even worse replacement was the Ruger P95...it got dirty fast! Seals sometimes use the SiG P226 and the HK45C. Also The USMC spec ops use a Kimber .45 cal as well as the HK23, one really sweet side arm! But alas no, not many 1911s on the hip of many servicemen any longer

The Tuarus Pt99 is for all intents and purposes an M9. When Beretta retooled their factory they sold the old dies and mills to Tuarus...they're nearly the same weapon. In fact with a slight modification the M9 mags will fit in a Pt99
