DayZ Needs huge mountains like Namalsk.
DontTrustPubs replied to koze's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I was wanting to write a suggestion along these lines and applaud you for doing so. I feel this would be an excellent addition to the stand alone. the only limitation may be the engine. I am not certain they can have dynamic weather that changes depending on what part of the map you are on. At the moment weather is global. Outside of that this would be very much possible. -
I would love to see specific graphics settings locked
DontTrustPubs replied to UVF Reece's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
All they need to do (assuming they don't half ass it) is put in proper low res textures/models that don't give an advantage. Hopefully they address this because it would allow for more game play possibilities. Such as crawling through tall grass for concealment which currently results in a bullet to the dome. -
[Standalone] Suggestion for humanity indicator
DontTrustPubs replied to Ralfie's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I like you suggestion of using different animations depending on if you are a bandit, hero or survivor because it wouldn't interfere with the clothing system in the stand alone. some other suggestions would be: blood on clothing, identification of bandits and heroes through some form of tracking, dogs perhaps. -
Some games I enjoy. Dota 2 Red Orchestra 2 Company of Heroes Original (Sequel is trash) Original FEAR AVP 2 Call of Duty: United Offensive

The standalone won't be popular unless
DontTrustPubs replied to dashx73 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
With all the donations some of these servers get there should be admin support 24/7 or damn near to it. they should act professional and only admin; not participating in play. Instead you get admins who half ass it and cheat their players for their own entertainment. I have seen admins horde vehicles, provide information to their clans/friends/etc. I could go on but I wont. The TRUE reason a lot of servers aren't full is because admins do not understand how to protect and enforce integrity of their servers. This isn't always the case though as most popular servers at the moment provide shitty load outs, scripts, loot and rule sets to go along with poor administration. -
Seattle/washington would be a cool map and fit the setting well, compared to something like California.

Would love to have more people on the BMRF hive (especially server #2)
DontTrustPubs replied to BongMcPuffin's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Just got fragged by a Teleporting hacker in Berenzino as I logged in. Over the past few weeks the hackers have gotten out of hand on this server. -
This contradicts everything DayZ is. The difference is in the standalone loot will be dynamically spawned, so that map may or may not be there.

Would love to have more people on the BMRF hive (especially server #2)
DontTrustPubs replied to BongMcPuffin's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This is the server I frequent and its a good one for the most part. Hi bong btw! :) Relatively hacker free server minus the esp and radar running bastards on the heli, I have encountered them numerous times. -
Private servers prove that the average players don't know shit about gameplay
DontTrustPubs replied to Evilsausage's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Admins abuse their powers far too frequently on private hives. They will inform their pals of approaching enemies, hidden tents and vehicles. Hopefully the SA will enforce a single rule set across all servers. -
Overhaul the thirst/hunger system!
DontTrustPubs replied to TreeMeister's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Not to mention the health system which should address this issue as well. =) -
DayZ Standalone, Freelook, Third Person
DontTrustPubs replied to DontTrustPubs's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The core aspect of DayZ is survival and the ability for a new player to survive or kill an experienced player is a level playing field. Although itemization and experience can change this. Progression within DayZ takes place through itemization and survival. If you listen to Rocket, he says that they put tools into the game for players to use. toolboxes, flares, entrenching tools, nvgs, binos, these tools do provide a form of balance through game play. Third person view and free look in DayZ is that it trivializes game mechanics such as stealth, cover, etc all important elements to DayZ. these can be kept intact while still providing a third person view option with some changes. I would be ok with in being first person only since I feel the game is more balanced that way. I do enjoy third person as well though. In the end there always lies the hardcore servers with 1st person as an option and I'm grateful for that. This should become more popular with stand alone fixes as well. -
Will these forums be upgraded for Stand Alone? Will there be new forums completely? Can you answer these questions? lol

DayZ Standalone, Freelook, Third Person
DontTrustPubs replied to DontTrustPubs's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
That is incorrect,The discussion is regarding Third Person. That would only apply if you were to restrict/limit/remove free look while in first person. Free look is not an issue with first person because it doesn't allow the player to bypass game mechanics -
DayZ Standalone, Freelook, Third Person
DontTrustPubs replied to DontTrustPubs's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Administration of the forums is handled by the forum mods not someone such as yourself lol. With that said if the forum mods want to merge this topic they certainly can and will.Balance is not welcome? Balance exists within the game mechanics and itemization, even if its subtle. This isn't so much of a balance issue as it is unintended game play I never said anyone who didn't share my opinion, just those who think unintended game play exploits are sound game design. This is not ARMA and DayZ is a sandbox, it is what ever you want it to be; with the core element being survival. For further clarification since you need it, I said "it's never too late" as in It's not late at all. Try to not pull words out of context because it is a waste of time and makes no sense. Based on all that alone, I am definitely abiding by the guidelines with a few posts far better then yourself with many. -
Who wants to see bears is SA?
DontTrustPubs replied to mtls44555's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Bear wildlife as a rare spawn that would attack players on smell/sight similar to a zombie. Would be hilarious and interesting -
DayZ Standalone, Freelook, Third Person
DontTrustPubs replied to DontTrustPubs's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You are poorly informed if you think no thought has been put into game play and balance in regards to DayZ, that statement is ludicrous. Balance is defiantly not perfect but it does exist, hence this discussion. Further more it is never too late to discuss suggestions in the suggestion forum or it simply wouldn't exist, now would it?No one is suggesting the removal of Third Person in this thread, just fixing the exploits present within the system in order provide a better game play experience. I do realize that some find the exploits to be a part of the game and fun. I will not debate against those individuals because their logic is obviously flawed. -
Tents should disappear on death.
DontTrustPubs replied to jamieledgeway@hotmail.co.uk's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I would make tents more rare Limit one per player at any given time Despawn after 24 hours of death. regardless of interaction Give players the ability to destroy tents with melee weapons, etc. -
DayZ Standalone, Freelook, Third Person
DontTrustPubs replied to DontTrustPubs's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I feel this change is required due to the game breaking imbalances third person can present in it's current form. It gives players the ability to see in places they otherwise wouldn't/shouldn't be able to. This in affect imbalances weapons, map design, but most importantly game play. This occurs frequently during game play, such as peeking corners or laying prone while on a high point. One possible solution would be to zoom the camera into first person the closer a player got near an object; Combined with the locking/limiting of camera angles. However I believe there may be some serious coding involved with the zoom into first person portion of that. -
Model 1887 with flip-cock animations.
DontTrustPubs replied to Chaingunfighter's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
That would be awesome and add a little flavor to the world of DayZ. -
The most ridiculous range you've been shot
DontTrustPubs replied to thelonewarrior's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There are hacks and then there is scripts. This guy was likely running an esp/radar hack. Odds of making that shot twice with no sight? insta ban if I were the admin. -
what do you like in a server suggestions needed
DontTrustPubs replied to davooo0's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Vanilla DayZ; Hardcore (1st person only) if I can find it. High concurrent user base. Admins that properly admin. Knowing what to look for to find a hacker/combat logger. Behaving like professionals (not playing on their own server or interfering with shit by joining/forming clans) 24/7 admin support. No donation perks, instead offer real knowledgeable admins that will fix issues and squash hackers on the spot. Surprises me, how many admins sit on their ass and joke around, while their player base is being cheated by exploiters and hackers. I think this is partially due to people having no real knowledge on how cheating and hacking actually works. p.s. when I say hackers I reference legitimate hackers not the script kiddies. Esp and Radar are the true threat; however they are all detectable without software if you know what to look for. -
Why DayZ will fail as a standalone game
DontTrustPubs replied to TheMachine's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You have some valid opinions OP. However keep in mind that they are working hard on the server architecture to prevent hacking. Protecting the integrity of your product is paramount, especially when dealing with a permadeath/full loot system. Which is something they seem to recognize. It's certainly not impossible, WoW, Dota 2, and many other games remain hack free.
