    Track IR and DayZ

It works perfectly with arma 2 and dayz. Also the zooming feature is enabled, movement seems really fluid and heavily enhances awareness. Works out really well in dayz because you need to have your head on a swivel all the time, checking for zeds and other players.

    What is a Carebear?

I first heard the term in Eve Online; I wouldn't be surprised if its those same players spreading the word around in such a false dichotomy that anonymous internet users usually resort to.
  3. Yep, ts3 is looking pretty promising now. I'm still in, but i'm more dedicated to the idea than I am to following a strict "no metagaming" policy.
  4. I'm down for whatever, ts3 or not. I think we have enough people interested to at least get a server chosen and a squad together to begin fixing a helicopter and finding some equipment. We've identified the core issues with the idea, and we've addressed those problems as best we can for the time being. There seems to be enough people on-board that are willing to go beyond this pessimism and commence repair and retrieve operations on a designated server. We just need the leadership of this operation to organize those interested so that we can form up and proceed with a major requirement that each idea seems to have - the helicopter.

    No downed helis, or wildlife?

Saw two heli crash sites, multiple wildlife. Killed a goat for the meat, got 3 slabs. One of the heli crash sites had a box full of medical supplies, I couldn't carry nearly enough of it so I just took a few things. Seems to be in working order, at least on one of the Dallas servers.
  6. Definitely cooperating with the docs would also increase our services and such. A trading server or designated server might be a good idea too. We're going to need a designated server just to orchestrate our activities, procuring a vehicle and preparing a location for this trading post. Is there any progress being made on this idea? I'm actually jumping at this opportunity, I really think being a guard would be interesting just for the Role-playing interest. I don't have any vehicles or sandbags to offer, but i'm outfitted with a decent primary weapon and some transfusion bags to run guard duty or scavenger duty.
  7. Take a look at the factory compound at coord X-078; Y-114 It has only one entrance, which is gated. There is only one other "crawl through" location. The surrounding area is flat, the factory gives good 360 visibility. It is completely surrounded with a wall, and it isn't too far inland from the coast. You might be able to land a helicopter inside the compound, otherwise there is plenty of flat ground just outside of the gate to land one. I'm not sure how many zeds would spawn there, I only took a look at it in the editor but it looks fairly promising. *Edit: There is a lake just outside the compound walls to provide water The of taking the island isn't bad either, so long as we control the boats and the helicopter there shouldn't be much issues short-term. The only problem I have is with ferrying people, you'd need to have the majority of the guards actually at the ferry-depot rather than on the island. Anyone swimming across shouldn't be too much of a threat, you're biggest problem would always be people who logged offline on the island on another server. Otherwise you could have 1-2 guys on the island without much problem.
  8. There's another thread out there with a similar idea, i'd be interested in running guard duty and helping to get this going. Would be fun to bring a little civilization to a small segment of the map, even if it was only temporary.
  9. I really like this idea, I have always enjoyed the fallout series because of its survival mentality, but with a hint of civilization here and there. I would like to join on the team to get this going, preferably doing guard work but I can also help in acquiring goods. The biggest thing might be actually getting the word out and getting people to use the service. Location is going to be be key: Needs to be enclosed with a wall, something solid that you can't see through and can't jump across or fire across. Minimal to no zeds Almost no towers, tall buildings, or hills nearby to get sniped from Perhaps have a tower in the enclosure to spot people and counter-snipe Relatively close to the coast, maybe even in one of the big cities. I think the best location might actually be a building with an outer wall. That building on the east side of Cherno comes to mind, not the ideal but its just an example of what I would think would make a decent style location. Guards would be stationed in layers, external running scouting duties, secondary would be on the gates and running perimeter work. Internal would escort and run patrols on the inside of the compound. Anyways i'm actually really interested in the concepts, add my steam "firelogandrew" *Edit: The port in cherno might actually be a better location. There would definitely be only one way in, and you would have a fairly safe time landing a heli there if you wanted to run logistics that way.
