You obviously haven't met me, lol XD Thankfully I haven't met any players that have noticed me. Now that I've got a weapon, I'm considering trying to be more social and maybe group up with people when I'm armed better (so I can defend myself if they try to betray me) either way, if by chance we ever do meet in game, I'm friendly.

Can anyone explain/give tips about this zombie AI? I had to alt+tab so I went into an area with many trees, crouched, and then alt+tabbed. When I opened the game again, a zombie was sitting there attacking me. I lost quite a bit of blood. I ended up just dying because I couldn't get away. I was surprised because the only zombie I saw was probably 50-100m away. XD

Looks like I'm still stuck in Loading screens again. Could be just the server itself. Either way, I kinda don't want to respawn cause I was just about to search the barn at Prigorodki... Might try respawning though. EDIT: Nevermind, it was just taking a fairly long time to load..

Well, whatever I did fixed it. I manually reinstalled DayZ and the beta and now it's working fine.

Hmm, not sure if this was an error on my computer's part or on DayZ/ArmA, but I reinstalled the beta and DayZ, went into a server, got close to joining, but I think a message popped up and before I could read it, ArmA crashed. Going to reopen it now. EDIT: Bleh, I think I put the wrong DayZ files in. Re-downloading the latest files, gonna be a bit before I can say if it's fixed.

Good idea, I'm going to do that as well. Couldn't hurt I suppose. Deleted the beta folder and @DayZ/addons and reinstalling.

I'm a new player, so I've yet to meet any living players. If I do, I plan on turning mic chat on and letting them know I'm friendly. The thing I'm wondering is, how many people actually listen to that now? From what I've heard, DayZ became a "shoot first, ask questions never" kind of thing. Everyone assumes everyone is a bandit. Should I even bother saying I'm friendly? Or should I just get the fuck out before they decide to shoot at me?

I agree with you somewhat, but he should work at whatever pace he prefers. He's getting these fixes out fast, and I love it. But, as you said, he is adding new things that are game breaking (ie: hatchets/crowbars and them randomly dropping tons.) So far though, he seems to be releasing a fix for those game breaking bugs the next day. I'm content with what Rocket's doing and I personally hope he continues. Also, I didn't misunderstand what you said. Maybe the way I posted my reply makes it seem like that, idk. I'm still half asleep. Just woke up around 10 minutes ago XD.

I apologize if this has been asked before. Currently on a night server, and I tried to turn on the flashlight. The Wiki said it was L to toggle on and off, but nothing is happening. Currently running around in the dark constantly pressing L.... XD Please and thank you for any help.

The reason for server crashes is apparently the glitch that spawns a TON of hatchets and crowbars that have the model of shotgun shells and disappear when picked up. At least, that's what I heard.

Note: Quite a long and boring tale of a newbie's first experiences with DayZ. So, just bought ArmA 2: CO and got DayZ running... I had some issues with spawning constantly in the debug zones, which I did fix. Then, I got into the game. The first thing I see is that I spawn near Kamenka. Ok, cool. I see a lighthouse nearby, so I head to that. I climb to the very top and scan the horizon.. The thing that caught my eye, 2 dead bodies. At this point, I feel scared. Sure, I just started, but seeing 2 dead bodies is somewhat startling. I look around for whoever killed them, but see no one. I climb down, search the bodies. Both empty. Search the Coyote Packs, there's a flashlight on both of them. Fellow newbies. I start to get worried, I go prone, and get out as fast as I can. As I get further along and calm down, I see a body in the grass. I can't tell if alive or dead, so I type in direct chat, "Hello?" I received no response. I started to inch forward, and I see that it's a dead body. I search it. Again, there's nothing. Open the Coyote Pack again, and there's a flashlight. 3 People, freshly respawned, all dead, along the same path. Could be starvation or dehydration, I'm not sure. Either way, after that, I didn't want to take my chances with the current FPS problems, and I disconnected Gotta say, I love this experience. I cannot wait for the 1.7.1.2 patch so I can enjoy it even more.

Yeah' date=' I couldn't get my flashlight to work (either it's lag or it's just buggy. It would turn on sometimes and sometimes not, and it would also sometimes turn on and can't turn off unless I dropped it and picked it back up.) I'm probably just going to hop onto a server where it's daytime or something. I can't do too much at night yet. [hr'] Ouch Missmmm, that sucks Dx.

It seems to be working strange for me, I did manage to get it back on again but then it wouldn't turn off >.> had to drop it and pick it back up.

I have the flashlight out and I already checked, the key bindings say "L" to use headlights. I've only got a flashlight so the gun out isn't the problem XD although I did try that too. EDIT: Didn't realize it wasn't on because I was prone. Excuse my stupidity >.< SECOND EDIT: Somehow I got it on once, turned it back off because I recently seen someone near me, now it won't turn back on..

Speaking of which, any tips for playing at night? XD I'm dreading playing on a server with decent ping because of the dark.

I think the reason people are complaining is just that, apparently, the number of bandits is increasing and the friendlies are becoming fewer.

Well. All coordinates in that transmission lead to a deerstand. I can't imagine OP fakes this whole broadcast. There's no ingame background noise in that sound file the OP posted. No wind' date=' no birds, nothing. The transmission is too clean, so it was not recorded ingame. Which indicates it was fabricated outside of the game. [/quote'] The OP said something about messing with the audio to remove the background noise to make it clearer. But, really shouldn't believe this until someone gets a video up.
