My friend and I were heading north from (I think) Komarovo. My friend was spotting his new Enfield, I think I had an AK74. We seen some guy, so we stop and look at the guy, say we're friendly. He stares at us while standing. I turn my AK on burst, as my friend takes 2 shots at the guy. My friend missed both shots, and had to reload. The guy was still standing there, so my friend took another shot and finally killed him. We looted him and he had basically nothing, we both felt bad. The painkillers and bandages were nice though. And another time, we seen a guy at Kraftwerk firestation, and I start saying over mic "We're friendly, you need help?" and he says "Yes I'm friendly :)" my friend heads around while I take the zombie aggro off the guy (wherever he went) I say "Ok, I took your agg-" as my friend unloads his revolver into him. Poor guy. He didn't have much either. We're bad people. XD

NWA and Cherno have caused the majority of my deaths due to players. Once in Zeleno, but that was just an unfortunate meeting in the supermarket, and I took him out with me, so it was ok. XD

This was good enough to read through all the pages... OP, it used to be that choosing gender was permanent. Rocket recently made it so you can change gender on every spawn, but he hasn't changed the wording on the gender select screen. You choose it every time you spawn. Try it. Also, refer to the image below.

Sure this is DayZ related. I don't give a FUCK!!!! The patch is 1 week late and what we are talking here is vapor anyway!! So STFU! Dude, calm down and stop raging. He's doing testing and just trying to make it better. Personally, I'd rather wait for a good update, rather than get a rushed update that breaks stuff

Is anyone else still having issues with server lag? I'm fairly sure my computer + internet can handle this, I know for sure it can run ArmA just fine. Rocket fixed it (or tried to) in the previous 2 patches, yet I haven't seen any change. I've also been getting on servers with fairly low ping (less than 100.) Any solutions? Edit: Stupid me, I didn't expect changing the graphics settings to increase my FPS. Yes, I thought of it, but I figured since I could run single-player on high just fine, it would work on servers. After changing quality, it runs fine. Second edit: It still appears to still have server lag. Such as zombies sliding around or teleporting behind me.

I had no problems with SixUpdater, but as others have said, I prefer the manual installation, so I haven't used SixUpdater for a while.

Like others have said, stick to the trees, keep quiet, and keep distant from the zeds. If you alert one and have to book it out, you make yourself a target. I was able to solo loot it without any resistance (it was odd, no one was there so I had free reign over it) and also, in a few vids I've seen of people camping the NWA, they chilled in the tree line ~300m+ away with the sniper and watched the tower and hangars... So careful with that.

http://www.teamfackin.com/moocow/dayz/map/ That's what I use. Barns or supermarkets are normally where I find weapons. And like someone else said, check Balota. There should be 4 deer stands around some med tents (I think, not sure) and normally deer stands have some nice weapons, unless they're looted. Also check hangars and tower, as that same person said. Normally a decent place for guns.

With my last respawn, I spawned in Novy Sobor, glitched through the floor of a house. I kept searching the map along the coast and couldn't find it. With more searching, I saw that it was pretty far inland. Is that normal? I was sure that you could only spawn on the southern coast, but apparently that's not the case.

Ahh ok. I was really confused XD. Either way, I've gotten better loot there than when I spawn along the shore.

Just a suggestion, if you respawn near Cherno or Elektro, head there. You have nothing to lose, so it doesn't really matter if you get shot. Raid the supermarket, church,houses, and fire stations, etc. Choose what you want, but don't spend too long there. Last 2 times I stayed for a while, got greedy and headed toward the hospital, and got sniped. XD

I've seen so many people bitching on the forums saying that it's too hard to find food, water, weapons, etc, yet I've found all of that on each play. Most of the time it's hatchets, a few times there were Winchesters and Lee Enfields, this time I've got a crowbar, a Makarov, and a revolver. I've been finding food and water/soda often. Here's what I do... Normally, I head to a barn first to find a weapon. Although, food and water are the priority. Now, I head to one of the major cities (Elektro, Cherno) and make a beeline to the supermarket, looting houses on the way. Obviously be careful, Cherno and Elektro can be pretty dangerous. Although since you're a fresh spawn, doesn't matter if you die. You have basically nothing. In supermarkets I've found ALICE packs, revolvers, ammo, and of course, food and drinks. Then after that, I head to the church. It sometimes has more food/drinks, ALICE packs, Czech packs (I think that's what they're called) and sometimes a weapon. Not often with the weapons I think. XD I had a similar thing happen to me yesterday in Cherno. I had looted the supermarket and gotten some decent loot, was going to head to the hospital to get a few bandages and morphine before leaving. Heard a shot, my legs were broken. 2 More shots fired and then I was dead. It was pretty much my fault though. I stayed much longer than I should have and I got too greedy.

You don't download a map. It's browser based. But alright, if you don't want to use a crutch, don't complain how hard it is. XD Either way, I'm new, and it's not even near impossible. Sure, guides say stay away from Elektro/Cherno. But if you're a new player, you honestly have nothing to lose. Sneak through the city and loot it. 80% of the time I find good loot. That's when I leave the cities and never look back.
