How The 1.7.7 Update Completely Changes Banditry
SixGunLover replied to carbine781 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I also desagree with marko4231, the harder the zombies are, the better Dayz is, imho. -

Same here, I would shoot, your best option is to 'wear' your hero clothing. -
How The 1.7.7 Update Completely Changes Banditry
SixGunLover replied to carbine781 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That a step in the right direction, but there are many DMR clips out there and zeds can still be headshot with pistol. It could be nice to have some 'great value target’ out there, like, recently infected AI survivor. These AI could carry some nice stuff like ammo, medical supply, foods, tools, etc., but here the catch; they can easily spot you at 375-400m and will run like hell in the other direction if they see you (you are a bloody zeds murderer and they look pretty much like zeds after all). When they start running, they also attract other zeds and can be killed easily by them. If this is not a player that kill them, they have absolutely no loot (zombies just tear apart everything when eating them). They can even be in group of 1-3 and carry melee weapon, if they spot you while you are a -20m, they will try to chop your head and then run like a deer. Something like that, people like to snipe, give them some nice targets. In my opinion, it can also change a bit how bandits/hero/survivor play (for the better). -
I believe there should be some sort of Classification

I agree with that: 'I'm hoping the SA eventually explores more subtle and varied ways of giving others visual clues as to your play style.' That one step in the right direction in my opinion. -
Understanding KoS Mentality...
SixGunLover replied to Sheepdog (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
In this case, considering that people love to ‘test their skills’ and shoot at great value target by using sniper rifle, adding something that is rare, hard to shot down and rewarding can be an option. But even that can be unwanted. -

Hard to tell, but 'fresh spawn' will always try to headshot the guy that already have nice stuff and the player with nice stuff will always kill the next guy just to protect is gear (no matter how rare is the equipment). A lot of thing can be done for that, but it's don't seem ot be desired. -
Yeah, you can already shoot while moving in the mod/SA. Running? I dont know.

I am done [Bandit Suggestion]
SixGunLover replied to trajan45's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Here my suggestion for you, try a friendly server with AI: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/72.5.102.170:2302/ I've killed many player on regular servers and has been shoot many time, and sadly, except if you want a sniping simulator, you will have more fun with AI than player. At least AI will give you really nice firefight (not only a shoot in the head from 1200m), you will hear shots from many direction and you will be trapped a lot of time inside buildings, you may have to kill 12 of them just to escape Elektro for example. Of course , don’t expect to be able to loot NW airfield or even Balota alone, maybe at night with NV but.. you may not make it anyway. And don’t expect to be able to loot stores, hospitals and villages without a firefight, your best friend will be the wilderness. In fact, you may die more often in this server versus a regular one and you may have to be a lot more sneaky and even become a woodman, but at least everyone is fighting common enemies what is great. And when you feel like killing some player, logon on a regular one, bring your aks-kobra and dmr and shot on sight. -
DayZRP - You don't muck with The Legionaires --------- Walshy690

Try the same thing but to a maximum of 150m-200m, lets see what happen when the prey have a chance to spot you and retaliate. Those video are more epic. -
Who Dosent Shoot Bandits On Sight?
SixGunLover replied to -Se7eN-'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You got a point TMW Se7eN, just too risky for my taste I suppose. -
yeah, moaning
SixGunLover replied to eden.is.masterchief@me.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
That a shame that most of the time the tents that are deployed well hidden under tree branches become inaccessible, that could be your solution. But yeah, just try to not hoarding your stuff, keep the basic stuff, so people will sometime take you 2-3 morphine, 4-5 cooked meat, but at the end, you will always have 40-80% of your stuff what is more than enough. Vehicle is a bad idea though, use tents. -

Since they 'clearly' state that they want to pvp, I give them what they want. -
What kind of player are you?
SixGunLover replied to Maxwell(friendly)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I am in another category: I avoid people but shoot/kill on sight when I meet a survivor. For example, I really don’t want to loot an hospital/barrack/store if someone is there, I don’t want any contact, so I scout every corner from a distance. If someone is there, I will wait a bit as long at this person do not give me the perfect occasion to kill him, if he is a skilled scavenger always on the move, I will not engage nor hunt him. If this person do not take any precaution I will shoot him, wait a bit, and then loot what I want to loot. If someone is already in a building when I turn the corner, I shoot. I only got killed a few time by skilled pvper before adopting this play style, but I got killed many time by ‘friendly’ player or by my attitude of never shooting first, lesson learned. -
The number one issue my friends talk about is how the game has turned into kill on sight.
SixGunLover replied to scaramoosh's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yup, I mostly use Dayz to pvp by now, I can't say that this is not fun (everyone can enjoy to drop down 3-4 players from 600-800m in less than 5min). I'm just saying that this is a waste of potential. This game could be different, for now it’s just ‘one of these games’ with the difference that you have to eat and drink. And since most of the time we are also wasting your time waiting for a target, sometime it’s even more fun to play on a server with AI, at least you have 3-12 targets in each town, less boring when the AI work in team and have a good aiming. Dayz is for pvp? Yeah sure, we can have a lot of fun, every soul here seem to love the ‘hunting’ aspect of the game and being ‘a skilled sniper’, but stop claiming that Dayz is unique, there are plenty of pvp arena game like that out there. In my opinion, and of course I can be wrong, I think that we could have a better game if we only had 10-15-20% of bandits per server and that they were clearly identified from the start. I will not elaborate because that only a personal opinion motivated by some arguments that have already been debated. But please, think outside the box, even people like me shoot on sight by now and understand the meaning of ‘sandbox’ and the great idea to be able to do everything we want when we want it. Even people like me enjoy the trill of dropping down 3 players single handed with an ak-74 or by sniping them with an m107/dmr. But at the end, this is possible that ultimately, we don’t feel that this game is unique and yeah, we may thing that 1-2 rules can make this game memorable. You may thing that this is far to be a good idea, but stop thinking that people have a limited mind or are soft-hearted when they give their opinion, seriously, you are insulting your own intelligence when you do so. -

I suppose that this is a sign that the game is perfect since shit hit the fan each week or so? -

Agreed I used to play on a nice server where people were mostly friendly and there was usually always 1-3 bandits online. The ratio was something like 14 friendly for 3 bandits. Now lets me explain you why it was the best server I ever played and my best experience on Dayz. The bandits were nice and mature, they were not using side chat to lure friendly player with lies and promises, they were not afraid to letting know their intentions, they were hostile and everyone know it. We all had a really nice time with them, I got kill many time, they stole my camp and cars many time and sometime they even spare me when I comply to their conditions (like dropping everything and run ‘naked’ in the other direction, they were hided somewhere ready to snipe me). It’s nice to play with bandits when they play to game and when they understand the difference between their character and themselves. Guess what happen 4 weeks later? The admins installed an update and we were stormed by 15-20 more players, we were always 17-24 and after that it was more like 27-38. From this point, the community was horrible, everyone was shot on sight on the beach, everyone used their first clip and first pistol to shoot blindly at other players, each kill was followed by a ‘lol’ or ‘u mad?’ on the side chat, etc. I have stayed a bit, but after 1-2 weeks the server was down to 14-16 players but none of them were my old friendly or bandits pals, only kiddy thinking that they were playing a multiplayer game on duke Nukem Forerer. RIP good old dayz. I think that the solution may be a little ‘aura’, if you are pointing your gun one someone, a little subtle red/yellow/green glow is visible. If green: this person never killed anyone, maybe only to defend is self. If yellow, this person have killed some players. If red, this person have killed a lot of players. So if you meet a green one, you can rob him without killing him if you are a bandit, or play with him without being afraid of being shoot. If yellow, you take a risk, bandit or not, be careful. If red, bandit or not, you best option is to shot on sight, this player is a bloody murderer. In my opinion, we need something like that to ‘capture’ the feeling of the real Dayz since by now everyone is messing around COD style. And people like me, tired of being killed, also KOS in precaution. -
Check you internet connection also. The timeout is not always server side.

For me it’s a way to describe a strong mixed emotion of Rage, Anger, Hate and Fury at a high level mixed with a decent level of Compassion, respect and love. An interesting feeling for an emotionally mature person that can lead to a better understanding of the human being (if you can face it). Otherwise, a time bomb that can only lead to self-destruction or worse. ‘He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.’ - Friedrich Nietzsche Freddy was right.

At any case, since Dayz is a game.. if there are .50, we will have to deal with it, if there are no .50, we will also have to deal with it. I can't see where is the problem here? We all have a differents viewpoint on a 'realistic zombies survival game' and since in this topic Yes) are crybabies and No) are crybabies, there are no points. But you can try to create a less agressive an insulting topic with more valids arguments and then we may have a real chance to talk about those valid points.

Avoid "Survival Gaming" DayZ server, so dumb...
SixGunLover replied to preparationh's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I must agree, homophobic insults doesn't help your case. And since we are talking about a private server, play somewhere else. -
My first bandit act after 3 months (Not SOS crap)
SixGunLover replied to Scopeshot's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree, that a good one. -
I must agree, this story is banal. Basically, you killed one dude, saw a friendly player and got trolled by a cheater. The only interesting part is when you said that you 'PWN the server', tell us more, you drove you truck, came across 14 players and kill them all with only 13 bullets and a grenade.. that would be a story, but funny? bah, still not.

Looking for a server with some rules and/or specific features
SixGunLover posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Hiya, I’m looking for a server with some rules and/or specific features, I found some, but I want to be sure that I will do the right choice. - Pvp server with one or more no-pvp area (or no-pvp server with one or more pvp area). - AI bandits/survivor/hero (somewhere on the map at least) - Something concerning the players base/camp (like no base destroying, no base stealing or even no vehicles hoarding). - Something concerning the car/heli amount on the server (at least some heli siting at the airfields for example). Chernarus tend to be better in is ‘near vanilla’ version and Namalsk is too small to have a no-pvp section and a little something concerning the player camp and the amount of heli.. so, I suppose that I am looking for a server on Lingor Island or Taviana. Panthera would be perfect but the bug with the loot/zombies spawn is really annoying. Your help would be welcome.
