How many people do you kill in a life on average?
SixGunLover replied to Mays (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Since i still consider myself on my first life (I didn't count the 2 time that a building kill me or the 4 character wipe), 7 kills, 0 death. I usually avoids others player and shot at everything that hold a firearm in my direction which was the case 6 times. The last one had a gun, but tried to axe is way. I lost many friends though, apparently am more careful than them. -
Look for the camo building with a prison cell. That outside elektro but there are plenty of them around the map. I also found some in military tent, hangar, control tower and bunkers.
-
Yeah, it had happen to me and some friends a lot, we no longer use any ladders nor that we walk on any roofs since then.
-
The chance of friendlies are higher up North. Do you agree?
SixGunLover replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
The more they have to lose, the less friendly they are. -
Yeah, belt holsters and leg holsters + double chest holsters (or six, like el duce in the movie boondock saints ^^).
-
Yup, could be great.

Mental Constitution - Social/Survival Mechanic for Immersion

We may have something here; anti-depressants If your char for example only eat tuna and drink water for 20 days, he may feel a little bit depressed, more resigned, is reflexe are not what they used to be, etc. But of course, if you cook a good steak or drink some soda or have a nice cereal snack, he may feel a little bit better. If not, anti-depressants or the prolonged presence of other players nearby can cure that. just an idea, I will not defend it. :P -
are people trying to make the SA to friendly?
SixGunLover replied to dgeesio's topic in General Discussion
Yup, some people would like to see more interaction in dayz, less kos and more bandits business. But since most of the kos defender (on this forum at least) insults the guy who suggest something instead of explaining their views, you will not see a lot of them. The fact is the dayz community and dayz itself is not easy on new player, which is ok, for the game part, but not the community part. Showing some understanding and sharing tips don't make you a pussie, that show that you have a brain and know how to use it. If you really want dayz to stay as it is, an anti-game really hard on new players, then help the new players to enjoy the game as you do. That not rocket science. -
Just try learn the game even if its frustrating sometime since this is your only solution for now (except leaving of course). When there will be private servers, if its still what you are looking for, you will have no problem to find a server with admins that enforce the friendly aspect. In my opinion, you will be bored after 1-3 weeks if there are no pvp zone or ai roaming the map and a ton of zeds, but i can understand your situation, that easier to learn the basics of the game that way. People tend to forget that everyone is different, i see no issues to be able to play the same game in different way, even if some "game mode" are harder than other or do not exactly feel like the vanilla style.

Solving Both End-Game/Meta-Game and KoS Problems At Once
SixGunLover replied to Pendulum Effect's topic in General Discussion
If dean and his staff are really looking for a way to create a better balance in game (between kos and player interaction), any idea is a valid one since it can be reworked and tuned. Keep up the good work. -
Frankly, i don't remember it. But my last one was quite nice. 2 guys followed me and a friend across 2 villages, i had a magnum and my friend had an hatchet. Long story short, i killed the first one, looted his m4 and the last pristine clip to shoot his friend who was distracted by mine. Of course everything was ruined except the two m4 and the loaded clips, but it was a lot of fun. Tips of the day: do not try to stalk someone if you or your friend is wearing a red t-shirt in the wilderness.

The server hoppers usually stay inside the buildings, keep an eye on the windows. ^^

Yup, bow and crossbow and... Sling? ^^ +1

I can only presume that it will be fixed in time, but, a confirmation can be nice too.

As a said in another post, private "friendly" servers with pvp allowed zone will be created in a near future (for example, kos allowed around military loot spawn). So again, everyone will find the kind of gameplay they want to play. But that a bit sad to know that like the mod, the public servers will be deserted because the community is unable to come up with an idea to enhance the gameplay of some without restricting others. Of course some people will say that they don't want the game to change, but will also be again the idea of private servers.

Bandits, Heroes, Survivors, Zombies and.. Civilians
SixGunLover replied to SixGunLover's topic in Suggestions
Yep, the idea is not perfect but i continue to think that something can be worked around that. And even more if any player have a chance to respawn as a zombie if killed by a zombie, which destroy many counter arguments. Playable children maybe? Who know. -
Not a bad idea, if people want this kind of public servers. But yeah, that hard to find a way to reunite nearly every type of player in the same game. The hardcore kos clans can just decide to play on the usual servers so this is not really a restrictive suggestion.

Bandits, Heroes, Survivors, Zombies and.. Civilians
SixGunLover replied to SixGunLover's topic in Suggestions
Sorry? As i said, these lesser details are unimportant (in my opinion) since they are examples of how we can achieve a goal and thus can be modified at will. But i suppose that the main question should be: Do we want to enhance the game to add a lot more interaction for those who would like to play this way.. or not? If yes: How can we achieve that? If no: "Just wait for private server pals" -
Bandits, Heroes, Survivors, Zombies and.. Civilians
SixGunLover replied to SixGunLover's topic in Suggestions
Oh but, this is not about me, I will play with what I have. I currently shot everything that carry a weapon and will continue to play this way as long as this is the best way to survivre within this game (or to not be killed/trolled by someone who is jerking around). Of course if there were these kind of players around, I would be a lot more friendly, talkative and helpful sometime which is what a good part of the player base want. I read a lot of bad feedback these last couple of days (it was the same thing on the mod) and it end up always the same way: "wait for private server pal''. Of course its easy to insult them and call them whiner but the reality is that a succesful game is a loved game by a majority. And yeah, it can still be an hardcore anti-game and loved by a majority. We have zombies, sometime you will even respawn as a zombie (or it was just a bug?), why not have the choice to spawn as a random civilian (hunter, policeman, farmer, fisherman, doctor, etc) that is first purpose is to create a better immersion to all the other players and allow some to play the more peacefully as possible (less pvp for them, or no pvp at all). I suppose that these pc could spawn anywhere on the map and all have their weakness that give them a purpose. Of course you can still customise your char in game and carry/use a lot of stuff but have some limitation to avoid exploits. Still, this is an idea, a lot of details are missing or can be debated. But I still believe that Dayz is lacking something for those people who want an immersive experience (a bit different that your own immersive experience). My main idea was to be able to play as a 5-10 year old child with his logical limitations, usually enough to avoid kos since they can't be so much of a threat if you know how to deal with them. But I dont think that the world is ready for that, maybe in 5-10 years. -
Bandits, Heroes, Survivors, Zombies and.. Civilians

This is hardly a limitation, since it will also be a choice. Zeds have a lot of limitations too and they are playable sometime. Edit: i will answer soon, for the other questions, time to go home. -
I feel bad killing this guy/Is my kill justified?
SixGunLover replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
I personally never kos a player who do not carry a backpack and a primary weapon. Of course a dude with no backpack but carrying a pistol or an axe is still dangerous, but playing easy mode is.. not for me. And to be honest, I end up killing then most of the time, they usually quickly equip their secondary weapon or rush me with their melee. If he had a mosin on is back and act suspiciously, yeah, you were right to shot him. -

It will be easier to manage when we will have server restart warnings.
