Run up steep hill, run down again, zombies will stumble & sometimes die.

The hatchet is fine if you don't get swarmed and keep your distance, it one shots infected ones if you aim for the head. It also seems to have a small range of about 2-3m.

Not sure if there is one that is ARMA specific, but there are different TS overlay tools. If you do a quick search for Teamspeak overlay you'll find something useful.

Ok dear Morphine hunter dudes (and ladies) help me out here please. Buddy of mine who is new to the game had a leg accident when looting a deer stand at the field west of Kozlovka. As I am unhurt I told him that I'd try to scavenge some Morphine nearby while he crawls in my general direction. What should I do? Hit the deer stands around Kozlovka, go to Pogorevka and try my luck in the church or go to Zelenogorsk and hope to find something in the market? What about visiting Green Mountain radio tower? What would be the best option? I'm kind of lost as all the loot changes are not really apparent to me. Is it really military / hospital only? Do churches not count as medical spawn? Are deer stands real "military" spawns? -

Small correction here: If you aren't avoiding the big cities until you have a decent gun AND when you obtained it you aren't shooting on sight you are doing it wrong. BTW: Lots of people at first are extremely frustrated when they start off the game, doesn't mean they are carebears. -
Someone once gave me a good hint for ARMA II. Don't try getting maximum FPS. You'll spend more time optimizing and tweaking than actually playing the game. If you have something like 40 - 50 frames in the benchmark (Day scenario) then all is well.

You probably wouldn't want the XML files coming directly from the database mirror, something like an hourly extraction of the data and hosting it on a different server would be necessary. I don't think anyone wants realtime data. -
Is this for everyone or just me? I've now respawned several times, searched residential buildings, large red houses, pubs, office buildings. Everywhere I found .45, Enfield, Shotgun, Makarov ammo a plenty. Not one single firearm in 3 hours of playing. Yesterday I found a Makarov after about searching for 2 hours, not sure if this is working as intended. Of course after exiting a building a infected spawned out of nowhere and it was over. The crowbar and axe are "ok" - even if the Infected dies though I usually have broken bones so its respawn time. Yes anti-game, yes alpha, but it "seems" to be broken. I remember finding Makarovs / 1911 / Revolvers quite frequently before the "Flashlight Start" thing came into play.

I think the problem is that for everyone the first goal is to find weapon and they go into high-risk places that are crawling with infected. First goal should be to actually get food/water and find an easy location where guns can spawn (deer stand). Still for someone completely new to the mod and who watched prior "Lets play" videos this is completely idiotic and very staggering. The game in combination with all those ARMA II bugs that lead to broken bones/death was quite unforgiving anyway. Now the luck factor has been increased exponentially because of lowered chance of finding weapons + having a zombie spawn out of nowhere + immediate broken bones + morphine being a 2 hour crawl away. I do not know what the intention is of taking away sidearm + reducing weapon spawns + removing morphine + limiting morphine spawn areas to hospitals / military. Imo its too much at once and serves no purpose, especially with the clunky / buggy ARMA II underneath. Generally to me increasing difficulty/challenge level should not equal increasing frustration level. -

You run into the big city because : a) You have nothing to loose right at the start, now even less than before b) You can gear up and get going within 10 minutes c) Most spawns are near Elektro/Cherno d) Maybe you are lucky and there is only a horrible sniper there, so you may make it out with all the loot. *scnr* -
Happened to me too several times (before 1.71.X) walk East or respawn. Not sure if the fix is retroactive. Anyway its just an alpha and the flashlight start is quite an experience :)

execpro22 - I think communication and human interaction are more interesting than visuals. Still it would be cool if there were more skins in general and maybe also skins only wearable if you have a certain status. On the other hand, there are so many corrupt cops, I actually would be tempted to rather shoot someone wearing a police uniform than someone without (in the game ofc).

Coming from this thread here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=18573 As far as I know the bone breaking from dropping from 2 steps or from going over a rock thing is an ARMA II issue, so there isn't much that can be done right now. To remedy this a bit I have the following suggestion. Make bones not break so easily at first, but increase the chance of breaking bones every time it happens (by infected hits/gunshot wounds/hatchet) 1). All is well, bones will not break from random bugs 2) 1st broken bones, increase chance to break bones by 15% 3) 2nd broken bones increase chance to break bones by 20% 4) 3rd broken bones increse chance to break bones by 30% (this value would be the level it is now - very frail) etc. etc.

Suggesting a left handed person to do something right handed isn't helpful. grim. - not sure if it will help, but in Windows there is a setting that actually swaps the mouse-buttons, maybe try that. Devices & Printers -> Mouse properties -> Buttons -> Switch Primary and Secondary buttons.
