Arma 2 Beta Patch 93965 - Gear Not Dropped When Swimming!
Lukio (DayZ) replied to Skint (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Man those pics just aren't good at proving your point. Can't you see - they lost their backpacks as well! Edit: Constructive discussion part: Some military backpacks can actually even be used as a flotation device, depending on their mass. ARMA 2 does have a weight or "backpack fullness" system where you loose breath much faster, why not let this decide if a player can swim or will just hit the sea floor and needs to walk back to the beach. -
I don't see how letting people select spawn points would change any of this? Instead of respawning for the "best" spot, they'd just select it and THEN it'd make sense for PKers to wait around the two or three most favourite spots, just to grief people.

Reads like Pvt. Iverin to me.

A week Playing as a Non-combatant Medic.
Lukio (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
BaldBaboon I like what you are trying to do, unfortunately for most people encountering you (even if you administered first aid) you are nothing more than a wandering stackpile of medical supplies. I wish you good luck and maybe some more positive encounters. -
You are listening to the wrong people Rocket.
Lukio (DayZ) replied to MrBloodworth's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes Rocket you are listening to the wrong people. You should be listening to this: -

Grab a hatchet and stop desperately looking for a gun.

Is the game basically over once you have piles of loot?
Lukio (DayZ) replied to HedonismBot's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think for most parts its not about getting the bestest 3733t3$t überLoot. Its the journey that can be very interesting or very boring, dependen on your actions and encounters. -
Infected no more dangerous than pesty flies
Lukio (DayZ) replied to I_Guts_I's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Holding out in a building if you are getting swarmed may not always be your best choice, they can destroy some of them and then you are fuxored as well. -
So long, because DayZ is not meant for me.
Lukio (DayZ) replied to B0SSMANN (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If this mod ever goes into beta, i'll quit. It will be too polished and casual for me. Rage quit, its what some gamers do. He'll be back while we are drinking a beer and scavenging some beans. -
100 things I learned from DAYZ
Lukio (DayZ) replied to execpro22's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
90. You can step over barbed wire, but not over some stones. -
Before you run off into Cherno/Elektor for medicals at least grab an axe from about any industrial or farm building, maybe a can of soda from a residential.

Ambulance Spawns and/or 2-3 More Hospitals.
Lukio (DayZ) replied to Ctrl-Alt-Rage's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Maybe have Ambulance spawns near cities that don't have a supermarket to make them equally interesting. -
Too many watches, not enough compasses
Lukio (DayZ) replied to highwaystar's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Not sure if that is what you mean with: but you can also find out bearings with a watch. It actually works - only at night you still are without bearings. -
So many damn veteran servers!?!?
Lukio (DayZ) replied to Mr Muggles's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Of course everyone has a difference preference, what I am trying to say is that with so many servers having different variable enabled or disabled, the game experience can differ quite a lot, coming close to cheating or being very hard for people new to the game. I do not want players to vote on what they want, By unified experience I mean that Rocket / Dev Team decide how players of this mod are supposed to experience the game and that all servers use the same ruleset. -
Before you desperately try looting farmhouses for a gun, go to nearly any industrial building and get a hatchet. If you already have on in your toolbelt, open your inventory, right click on the hatchet and select "Remove from Toolbelt". Now you have a stealthy weapon that often one shots zeds and will make it much easier to loot those barns and residential buildings with zombies around and inside them.

Its all about priorities I guess. Also reads like you just rushed to NWAF to grab a nice gun.

Or learn to navigate without a map, ARMA II offers you all the tools for realistic orienteering.

Why am i getting 5 minute penality?
Lukio (DayZ) replied to Regiee's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Its probably the game thinking you are very close to death (which actually is the case) because 798 blood is really low. As you call yourself an experienced player I am surprised that you didn't eat any provisions before moving on? I usually make sure I am above 9000 blood and never have less than 4 cooked meat and two full canteens before I log off. -

Lukio (DayZ) replied to Mr Muggles's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm for a unified experience across all DayZ servers. Maybe 3P on, CH off, everything else off. -
Newbie imperssions on version 1.7.1.5
Lukio (DayZ) replied to grosnik's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hatchets. Spawn in any industrial building, no matter how small. A sidearm is nice to find, but with a hatchet you can get rid of zombies without making noise. Later when you are decked out with provisions, enough ammo and medicine you still can go for that trusty winchester and store the hatchet in your toolbelt. -
My little rules: - Don't shoot survivors on sight except they have shot in my general direction or I have witnessed them randomly killing other players. - Observe, observe, observe. Count to 10. Then approach destination. - No silhouetting on ridges, walking in open fields, on streets and always loot looking in direction of building entrance. - Always go prone if you are not doing anything or want to look at the map etc.

Lukio (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in New Player Discussion
Lurikeen (DAoC rocked btw) you need two free inventory slots for a wood pile, maybe thats the issue.
