    Remove 'Respawn'

I'm ok with respawn, as long as its not spammable. On some servers the beaches around Kamenka etc. used to be full with dead bodies just because of respawn spammers, also I've noticed when many respawnspammers are underway servers tend to give me yellow/red chains. Maybe limit the amount of times you can respawn within 5 minutes, like 3 respawns, that would suffice.
  2. You'll only know once you've joined a server, there are so many out there and even if they have GMT +/- in their description, you can't even be sure of that, because sometimes it gets reverted by reboots etc.

    The hype will soon rescind.

Would really love to play DayZ

Its just 25 € on Steam for Arma 2 + CO, how much cheaper does it need to get?

    The hype will soon rescind.

Have fun. PS: ARMA II is still #1 on Top Sellers list, against all odds. Coverage has gone full mainstream with almost all large game magazines and game video sites featuring 1h+ coverage of DayZ. Tons of friends on FB are talking about the mod, not sure if the "hype" is going to rescind soon. As long as the big three Ubi, EA and Activision continue to bring out mindless, repetitive shooters, DayZ will have a strong following.

Am i the only one dying because of bugs? :P

Died to more trees, stones, doors & steps than from bandits.

Liberation! (Mechanic of reclaiming towns for Survivors)

In the spirit of DAoC and once we have some kind of factions or "gangs" (whatever they are called) I'd like to add that after liberation you should be able to claim a building and fortify it - i.e make it a stronghold of your faction that is not enter able by other factions. The fortifications would need to be destroyed and the building reclaimed. Possible buildings: Churches, Warehouses, Castles, Ruins & Cargo Tower buildings Edit: Ofc I like the general gist of the suggestion

    How to develop trust?

Currently there is no incentive or benefit to develop trust in anyone who is not on TS/Vent/Mumble with you etc. Even then you may get the random axe to the back.

  12. For the preorder of Czech Republic I'd say you won't be able to add it in Steam, because for everything else it explicitly states that you can order it through the bistudio store and activate it on Steam. Also none of the Bohemia's games are listed under the Steam CD-Keys list so you will need a separate Steam key, won't work by default. As an example: "Arma X: Anniversary Edition - Steam version. Support us directly by buying Arma X: Anniversay Edition from Store.bistudio.com - activate, download and play using Steam!"

    BETA PATCH

This is an issue sometimes. Having no auto-update is just weird nowadays and its one of the issues that makes ARMA 2 multiplayer so fragmented.
  14. Except maybe for the scrap metal and engine parts, what you've found will generally improve your chances of survival. Did you know you can throw empty cans, flares and bottles to distract infected? Also the hatchet is a weapon, you just need to right click it and select "Remove from toolbelt" then it will be placed into your primary weapon slot. Some people actually prefer the axe to other weapons, depending on play style.
  15. Currently there is no incentive to socialize with or trust other players. Even people with just an axe will take their chance to chop you in the back if you have far better gear, even if they first acted friendly. So either avoid or shoot if they get too close to your comfort zone. I've been friendly several times, have even been called out for being to friendly on the forums, but that was some patches ago, now its just about greed and backstabbing. I've learnt my lessons and it will take a lot to revert those negative experiences.
  16. Probably a combinatin of "doing it wrong" and bad luck with loot already been taken or bad spawns. Lemme give you a hand: - Firs priority grab preferably a hatchet or a crowbar from most any industrial building, this will be your stealthy weapon from now on - Hunting stands always will have something interesting to loot as in weapons and ammo, but for food you are best off visiting the salmon or redbrick coloured two story buildings - Before you have any valuable possessions, make a run to the hospital for some morphine - Barns with 2 stairs left & right plus stables are always worth a look as well. If you do that you will usually end of with enough food, drinks and some kind of primary weapon to at least make it to the next supermarket-town without trouble. To me it seems you don't have your priorities right and a spell of bad luck in-between.
  17. More than 1/4 of your blood is gone and you are complaining that a zombie whacking you made you unconscious, leading to your death? You weren't one hit killed by an infected, you were knocked unconscious. A buddy with an epi-pen would have gotten you back on your feet in now time. Anyway always try to be above 9k, always have 2 bandages, painkillers and some morphine. Btw. no one cares about your lost gear, except the lucky guy that stumbled across your characters corpse.
  18. Why is this in in general discussion anyway? Imo there is no real solution against bandit-ism and its a necessity to have a certain degree of uncertainty when interacting with other players, so to me people who want to be bandits & murderers are perfectly fine to do so. The only thing that may need a change is the KoS issue, many people who shoot other players aren't even real bandits, they've just learned that currently its safer to shoot than to try to socialize. It will also take a very long time to turn around these personal experiences, as the human brain tends to have a knack for negative experiences.

    Reducing ammo = reduce murders

I'm pretty sure that some bandits out there will still happily murder people when they get the chance, no matter how hard it would be to find ammo or a an appropriate weapon that does the job. Although I am not a fan of being a bandit, I like the uncertainty it brings to playing. TBH i'm more with what Dreganius said and with 1.7.2 and ammo tracking across servers I think we are going in the right directions..
  20. Trying to explain to my buddies how to use the horrible inventory, where they are and how to get to our meeting point all at once while trying to grab morphine from a hospital for that one dude who got stuck in a toilet and broke his legs - its already kind of a hell for me. Actually trying to be cooperative & helpful is stressful enough for me, more or harder infected won't help in my case.
