    Bear Traps

    Except there are like 3 ways to dupe items atm from what I've been hearing. Someone can find just 1 and spam it into oblivion. Some (if not all) of the current methods used for duping are going to be removed with 1.7.2 Also stuff like tank traps' date=' sandbags, barbed wire and probably bear traps will be removed, i.e decay. Same with tents that are unused. Anyway I'm all for bear traps or any device that makes you more cautious when looting. Currently I see and read about so many players that just run into and out of a building, ignoring the infected and anything else, dashing from one loot spot to the other. Well - now a decently placed bear trap will teach them a little lesson :D

    What's Your Survival "Workflow?"

    1st goal: Morphine, Melee weapon, large backpack Wake up, go to nearest hospital, fill backpack with as much morphine as possible, go to pubs and residentials for at least a czech backpack, go to any industrial, grab axe, bug out. 2nd goal: Side-arm, Food, Soda, Canteen, Tools (Compass/Map etc.) Visit Residentials & Hunting stands 3rd goal: Get high powered rifled Any AK/M4 variant with sufficient ammo will do 4th goal: Hunt animals, cook food, maintain blood level above 9000. From there on its up to everyone individually what he does I guess.

    New Camo-Skin: urban Camo

    Urban tactical skins would be interesting, because they are almost useless outside cities (like ghillie suits are a give-away in an urban environment). Generally I'd like to see more skins or clothing, things like helmets and military fatigues. All those military infected have helmets (some even pilot helmets) but you can't use that stuff.

    Definitely missing the SKS in this game, but all those new weapons are a bit overkill and tbh too much variety in weapon types & names may be confusing. Some people still can't even pronounce Makarov or Kamyshovo.

    Bring em on! Looks fantastic and you are addressing a point that has disturbed me from the very beginning, but not enough to suggest any changes in alpha. I thought it would be major work (probably is) for the devs to implement "nicer looking" infected.

    I switch between FP for shooting, observing and 3P for anything else. Both are fine, both are useful for different situations and both have their justification.

    There are some other mods for ARMA 2 than DayZ. Afaik City Life is one of them.

    Last time I scavenged the construction site in Cherno there were about 15 throughout the whole building, not all lootable though.

    Meeting a random player who doesn't kill you, hunt a boar, make a fire and have a nice meal. Yes Bartle says I'm a SEAK.

    Lol at blaming dyslexia for your sloppy writing and spelling errors. People who have dyslexia would have a hard time reading most posts depending on how strong the deficiency is. The few I know with this reading deficiency who actually try to write on computers use a grammar / spell checker as if it was their air to breathe. Apart from that it seems you just brought some infected to a guy lying on the floor. good job.
  12. On Sunday I saw several servers hinting in their description that banned players can still join or proclaiming better / different loot etc. How can I only filter for "official" servers?

    SKILL ADVANCEMENT

    If you want any kind of specialization, make it a fixed choice you select at character creation, just like female / male.
  14. Although I like the idea of player bases/forts, I'd prefer them to be only doable at claimable fixed locations that are semi-random, similar to the helicopter spawn. The base setup you made looks pretty decent, but all the amount of concertina and tank traps look like they may put too much additional strain on the server

    All there needs to be is an out of combat timer, cross server tracking and the current server knowing the state of character before he disconnects. Based on this information you would very quickly get a positive identification if someone repeatedly logs off, does server hopping to change location. etc. A regular logout after 30s of non combat is perfectly fine imo. Off hand I can't think of any on-line multiplayer game where there is a mechanism that works against disconnecting player. So why try to go this way and not instead use some of the mechanisms that actually are implemented in MMOGs and online multiplayer games?

    In any case either something is implemented to the mod itself or leave it be, From what I remember it is not only dependent on TS3 but also needs some other mods (probably CBA) to work. Reading "works like a clockwork" related to anything part of ARMA II made me chuckle, thanks :-D
  18. There is no right or wrong way. If you want you can just sneak around until you are starved and die somewhere, you can make it your goal to find a bus to repair and drive from town to town, you can betray a friend by shooting him in his back or you can bait players with some cans of food and shoot them from 400m. Its up to you what you make out of the game. Currently I think its everyone's duty to find bugs, glitches and maybe technical problems related to the mod and give feedback, you can do that however you want though.

  22. One thing I'm kind of missing in your list is how applicable these situations/behaviours are to player interaction in a video game. Currently a player life is worth nothing as he can respawn immediately, its only about the threat he poses and if he has interesting gear you want. I'd assume the decision to hurting or killing someone in the real world is much more difficult and traumatizing, so all those theories somehow get washed down for video games, where its just some pixels you shoot at.

    Lee einfield vs Crossbow

    If you are "out and about", the enfield is ok to clear Deerstands. For closing in on a village with multiple contacts, I'd go for a side arm weapon; even better stow away the Enfield and use crowbar/hatchet (and possibly soon a baseball bat).
