Just implement some weapon field cleaning kit and have weapons jam/ degrade if you do not use it regularly. I'd be fine with that. Look at JA2 how its done there, works fine and makes sense.

Currently that's the way I feel and play the game, assuming anyone I encounter who is not on my team is considered a blood lusty sociopath and shot on sight. There were times in this mod where it was different but now its resulted in "beat or be beaten" without any middle ground. -
TO, I'm surprised you didn't mention the better inventory system (Rucksacks) that is available in ACE, the standard ARMA 2 inventory system is horrible in comparison. Generally I'd like to see some stuff available in ACE implemented into DayZ, especially the interaction and medical possibilities . Generally though ACE mod is overkill and is mostly for the hardcore mil-sim players, doesn't fit in with DayZ. Also it would just be another dependency for the mod.

Depending on the server Berezino is well visited and scavenged as well. Anyway - best places to find a CZ still are in a barn. In the South-West part of the city there are 3 farm buildings, go check them out regularly if you hang around in Berezino. -
Haha' date=' good one! I'd even be for much less weapons than currently are available, maybe remove some of the high tech weapons with NV / IR scopes as well as the silenced weapons. As this is being a sandbox game, I think the range of weapons should be much more limited to not make players focus too much on them. If you look at GTA for example, there are not many weapons in the game, just some different types for each "category" of weapons.

Well definitely its quite an experience to have to find out where you are when you are all alone, have to scavenge and move on off the coast, so in sort of a way you circumvented that part, but eventually you will die and your buddy won't be online or close by and you'll get that experience as well. There is no specific way to play this mod, thats why some people just go over to being sociopaths and others become hermits.

Refer to this list of weapons on the Wiki, there is no M6 type weapon. It seems you either are confusing the sniper rifle with another silenced weapon (M4A1 Camo SD ?) or you've been shot by an item that was hacked into the mod.

I'd be fine with a wipe at every major patch that introduces new items or loot spawn mechanics. Actually I'd be fine with a wipe at every new update, just because we basically all are testing an alpha and the devs may be able to get better statistics how players are playing this mod.

Servers without friendly fire, aka pvp killing

To the people saying "this game has become deathmatch" I say no because death by other player in most cases is avoidable. You are not pitted against other players, you put yourself into that situation. To the people saying "this game is no where near deathmatch", many of you are still romanticizing about the very beginning of the mod where saying you were friendly actually worked, where random survivors you met were relieved to meet others and wanted to cooperate & socialize. So currently to me the mod is somewhere inbetween, which is ok-ish, I believe this game being a sandbox without many directions leads many players to boredom because they are not used to having no tasks or goals to achieve. So they go to the bean coast and shoot whatever isn't on a tree by three. There is no way a game mechanic can fix this in a sandbox game, there will always be players bored and just getting a kick out of killing others. Instead of opening PvE servers, I'd prefer any addition that makes it worthwhile to cooperate with random players, without taking out the PvP. -

If it runs it will look fantastic, because Retina is so much more than a marketing term. In all seriousness Try using bootcamp, load up Windows 7 and see how the game runs, some people actually get more than 30 FPS. -
@Phillipka L2P. There are several tools and tactics that will help you survive 1) Get away from the coastal fragfest 2) Either rush through a city or go inland 3) Use tin cans, empty bottles to distract infected 4) Loose zombies by dodging in and out of buildings 5) Get a hatchet/crowbar to silently clear infected that are blockings access to a loot spot

Don't go chasing FPS in ARMA 2, it will drive you mad. If you get 30 FPS in Cherno & Multiplayer you are good to go. -

You are just unlucky, CZ 550 are quite common in barns and stables, maybe you are looking places that are being looted frequently. -

From what I've made out of the different interviews, news tidbits and postings, it seems that 1.7.2 has pretty big underlying structure overhaul, even if not much of it is mentioned in the update preview, when you do such a big overhaul you want to be 100% sure that this foundation you are placing will work out long-term. Also I assume several precautions will be taken before the rollout happens, maybe getting all community servers checked out so that they are all on the same level.

If you spawn near Elektro or Cherno 20 - 30 minutes is a fair amount of time, of course its random and luck is a factor. People in Kamenka usually just run towards Zelenogorsk and grab everything on the way from deerstands. Anyway it seems everyone has a different idea what it means to be properly equipped. Some just need a gun to shoot others, some want more medical supplies and others are desperately trying to find a box of matches :-D -

<- Haven't ALT + F4'ed. Not here, not in other games to avoid loosing. In DayZ I either shoot back, retreat or die. Its part of the experience of playing this mod. People who disconnect to skirt death are only betraying themselves. -

It looks like you are just starting Arma 2, not ARMA combined operations. Try using a launcher like Armarize or Sixupdater. If you are launching through Steam, right-click and launch ARMA 2: Combined Operations from the menu or select it in the popup when launching ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead. You will need to add the DayZ mod files and startup parameters seperately.

All those empty tin cans, empty bottles and road flares everywhere in those buildings. Put them to use! As long as you don't have much equipment and plenty of space, pick them up, throw them to distract zombies, enter buildings for stuff, profit!
