I don't know how this would be possible, but a simple solution would just to force an update through the AU purchases which retexture and rename morphine to something else capable of fixing a leg, like a cast or something. Might not be the most elegant solution but it's better than losing 90% of the players from an entire continent.

Really depends what they're wearing. If they have things stuffed full in their chest pockets, then it might be a 2 SK, but I think he's assuming without 'armour', which would make it still a 1SK.

Not that much, although I have over 800 hours on the mod. I tend to only play when I'm in a group, so I have to wait until most people are on.

This Game is Being Advertised as an MMO Right? Char Bound to Server.
jaginun replied to gjhook's topic in Suggestions
Yeah, this is a pretty bad idea. 40 players is already pushing the boundaries of what is fun to play on for people who aren't outright PvPers, 500 players would completely ruin the game. This game is massive, multiplayer, and online, that doesn't mean it has to go do the same thing as every other MMO. -
A cheeky trick to SUPERZOOM your weapon sight/scope (video)
jaginun replied to acapona's topic in New Player Discussion
They need to fix this. Not by making the zoom any less intense, but by putting the highest FoV on par with the lowest. -
Why on earth would some people want this many? 20 people provides player interaction while keeping it uncommon and worthy of note, I can't see for the life of me why people would intentionally want to play on a server with beach boxing matches.

See my sig. I don't see the problem with letting the user create their own RP character. Seriously, it's not hard, and it doesn't include these artificial bonuses as well. If you want some more char customisation, suggest something where you can choose the language your character talks in when he's hurt, I would give that my beans. But yeah. No RPG systems.

Problem is, you would be talking about long range name tags, as you aren't likely to get up close and personal to a hacker, but if that were implemented it would put the gameplay off for the rest of the users. And 99% of so called 'hackers' are people with desync issues, which is an issue because of the sole reason processing is being moved to server side in order to limit what hackers can do in the first place. I think Dean Hall once said that all the client is basically doing is 'rendering the environment and inputting keystrokes.'

M4's accuracy is completely off the rails, it's almost purely CQC without the best attachments. Mosin or SKS is always nice. Mosin uses 7.62x51r which is common to the blaze, so you can mix and match if you want. It's shots would stop a horse and it doesn't need any clips or speed loaders like other guns. Only problem is the ammo can only be loaded manually in lots of 5, but most of the time that's good enough. SKS is also nice, more accurate than the M4 but not as accurate as the Mosin. Uses slightly shorter 7.62x39r rounds, which means less stopping power, but with a pristine PU scope on it, you can hit most targets accurately. Plus, it loads in sets of 10. It spawns in residential/agricultural like the Mosin, but remember to double tap your targets to make sure they're down.

That's a Mosin in the water, it's already been sitting in a Ukrainian farmer's field for most of a century, why would a little water effect it? It went through Stalingrad, it can get through this! Nope, that's an SKS, good luck finding new gear :P.

If you are slugging shots at each other from 2 houses across a street, throwing insults each way, it's generally safe to assume you wouldn't be polite enough to open up with your name. But yeah, we can tell each others names already if you just type in chat, or even tell each other your names in voip. I wouldn't like any kind of long range spotting device or permanent marker like the mod, interferes with gameplay.
-
I guess it's a simple suggestion, although considering any group with tactics is probably a group on mic, I would doubt the level of use this would get.
-
More of a personal opinion, but IMO Arma 3 isn't that much of an improvement, and more expensive. Unless you got the hardware for it, or you specifically like the Med location, I would go for Arma 2, with OA.
-
I would check your GPU drivers, smells like some old software in place.

The problem with KoS at the moment is simply lack of content. You can talk about the additional influences like the new fan demographic that resulted from Lowest Common Denominator youtubers playing the game or whathave you, but if players had more to potentially lose, they would think twice

Do the items in your pocket "save" you
jaginun replied to Skydiver (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I've seen players complain about the lack of weapon damage, and I think this is why. I haven't seen much of it myself but it would be nice if they reduced the protection it provides. -
Like I've said, the reliance on the server makes lag points like this very common. If anything I would prefer if it made the cheaters jobs easier to lessen the server processing load by shifting to the client if it removed the small constant inconveniences of all players.

Unconscious basically equals death for 95% of cases, If the blood loss doesn't get you, or the zombies, the logout will. Chances are, a player that attacks you is probably seeing you as a threat, and if he sees your '300 confirmed kill' sniping group, it would probably just reinforce that idea that you are out to get him. You have to see that bandits and heroes are only defined by what the player thinks himself if doing. There is very little variation altogether in the unaltered actions, just player killing player all over.
-
Same way as you use maps.

jaginun replied to Skydiver (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Oh well, time to stuff my UK Assault vest full of bibles! -
Hacking has become very hard since the ArmA mod because of how almost all the processing is done server side. Most hacks are just wallhacks or the like, this seems very odd. I would check again that it wasn't desync, seems characteristic.
-
There is no distinguishing feature. People just call others bandits to justify killing them. I hate the term bandit and hero, me and my group are almost exclusively KoS but I've helped new spawns by giving them gear and even taking them on board, and I know good Samaritans who kill people when they actually need to get gear. Accruing gear or weapons doesn't mean a bandit, just a long surviving player, who most likely player-hunts due to sheer lack of content.
-
Eh, a lot of the movement etc has been changed from the mod. But I would suggest getting it anyway, Domination mode is a blast with friends.
-
AkA, kill anyone you see but make up a valid reason for yourself. There is almost no way to distinguish a bandit from a player without witnessing him in action. And that's really rare. If you want an achievable suggestion, see how many people you can kill from one location along the coast. Despite what people say, most of your targets would do the same without a moments notice. EDIT: OR, as the poster below has said, gather books. I had some good fun gathering Call of Cthulhu, some Jules Verne books etc and reading them to my group. Become the apocalyptical culture guardian!

This idea is already sortof ingame, if you have a gun in hand you can lean down to be completely under cover, and look back up to pop up.
