Which can be more harmful than unlimited ammo?
Demophon replied to msy's topic in General Discussion
What a shitty boring way to play the game... I mean, not only are you not taking part in any of the games features, but if I were to walk across you and you started talking with the mentality that "talking is your best weapon". I'd shoot you on sight quicker than you could say "I'm a bandit and you got no gear". -
You could just write the book; base it off some other place though. Although Chernarus isn't a real place I think BI still own it, so even mentioning it could get you into some trouble if you were going to generate revenue But sure, call them up and have a talk see what you can or can't use and go from there The Cherno Journo made a DayZ book and is making money from it so im not quite sure... http://www.chernojourno.com/index.php?sales I really enjoyed the sample he left; he's actually really talented anyway, good luck man!

It's a fucking blood bath if we all spawned in a close area. Take recent events, there are too many people camping the NEAF killing fresh spawns, it's like the new Balota but even worse There are only a few big cities to go to Berezino, Svet, and that other one, which is even worse than people spawning on the southern coasts as Cherno, Balota, and Elektro are reasonably split up Sooooo no, I don't want localised spawns, this isn't wasteland; this is DayZ. Zombies should be something to be scared of; not some tosser sitting in the tree with his camo and sniper rifle Additional notes: I would like spawns where you have to work to get to places with good gear. I would like the West Kamenka, Krutoy Cap, Three Valleys and the Solnichny spawns. They're far from big cities and military camps and there is no real reason to try and get killed to get a better spawn because all the other spawns are equally shit :DDDDD

im not sure upcoming features are "positive" to the game
Demophon replied to bioned's topic in General Discussion
Well, thinking about it alright. Bandits will turn into golem and stuff which im looking forwards to, so you are on topic about whole cavemen thing. Alright, i'm going to go off topic, bare with for a moment. Ever read/watched the hunger games? Well that's in the future and they have hovercrafts and some other future shit. Do they use machine guns in the arena? Nope. Is it a fight for survival. Yes. So lighting fires and making traps is a very common thing in the books and films. So imagine the same thing but in a poor ex-soviet state. Yes you'll have military weapons and hunting rifles but I can imagine that a lot of people will use spears and javelins to hunt etc. Bows and stuff too probably. So is it really a bad thing? We don't know how long it's been since everything was "Normal" maybe all the guns have gone and you have to craft weapons from what you find in the woods. Kinda like Rust. >K thnx 4 ur tiem bi bi -
Well I do remember and I quote: I suppose it isn't that bad really, but at the moment if he was to port it in the state that DayZ is in at the moment then I doubt the consoles would climb more that 15 FPS but do consoles really care about that. The peasants are used to the 30 Hertz overpriced boxes :///

It was actually in the official trailer for DayZ SA, but they didn't even add it. Which is false advertising... Which is bullshit.. >Get shit together Dean x o x

Would phones/internet work in Case of Apocalypse
Demophon replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in General Discussion
Hard lines would work depending on power BUT wireless comms like phones and internet routers require satellites.. Even if there were people constantly replacing satellites and keeping servers up it would be too big of a job. The entire world at the moment relies on fossil fuels and un-reliable sources to power the world. They would run out and even with a sustainable source of energy civilization itself wouldn't be focused on making sure that the internet lives. There are so many more issues that come with a zombie apocalypse, lack of food, all resources would be hoarded between the rich before the start of the apocalypse, survival of the fittest etc. -
A console version would kill this game tbh..
Demophon replied to scaramoosh's topic in General Discussion
Alright, cut the bullshit. Let's take this into proportion DayZ is a buggy game build on a buggy engine which pretty much dislikes your specs whatever they be. I rarely get more that 35 fps on my 6 core i5 OC @ 4.0 Ghz and Asus GTX 770 w/ 8 GB RAM. Now from what i've heard. The consoles aren't that good spec wise... PS4: AMD processor with 8 cores (1.6 Ghz) and processor based graphics again 8 GB RAM Xbone: AMD processor with 8 cores (1.75 Ghz) and processor based graphics with 8 GB RAM So no. If DayZ ever is released, I think that there isn't a way to ever run it on the recent gen consoles. Case closed. Class dismissed. -

If you don;t like the game, then wait til the game's better. Now I like this approach instead of some of the idiots demanding a refund on the forums without any proper reasons. Something like this happened to me the other day. I was close to the ship wreck just off the northern shore of Berezino. I noticed that there was some weird swaying animation happening to my character as I sprinted. So the investigator in me opened up the video settings and tried testing out to see what was going on. So I adjusted some dials and turned some notches and just as I was about to see if I had fixed it I pressed the auto-adjust button right next to the close button. Fucksakes... As the screen blackens out to it's adjusting state, I heard gun shots wizz and fly past me and some thud's.. So I quickly pressed escape and by the time I got to see the damage done - It was too late Now I don't tend to rage that much over petty things, normally i'd be like "Yeah alright, you got me ahaha" or "Nice shot! Jesus that was good!" or even "Man, my fault I was trying to be cocky and I paid the price, GG" But no, this was bullshit - The guy whoever he was saw a fresh spawn stood still in the open with no harmful intentions and decided just to murder them for fun. - No offer of "F4 or we shoot" they just shot me from a good distance and moved on... Bandits are essencial to this game! Free will is one of this games best perks! You can gear up and murder people in the south or even help them! For fuck sakes you can go out into the woods and read books for your DayZ lifetime and think "I'm so fucking intelligent look at those barbarians murdering helpless people" 'Scoff'. DayZ is what you make of it and this happens to be the internet so let's be honest. There will be cunts in DayZ The End

Does the SKS bullets stray to the left like the mosin or does it hit dead on?
Demophon replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Remember! The bipods are always good for trying to shoot long range! -
Well to be honest, people took a risk when it came to buying this game. It's in Alpha for God's sake and it literally give a warning "This game is in early Alpha" before you even start playing the game! It's bullshit. Rocket shouldn't do anything about it, if you buy a game then you gamble simple as that. You may like the game or you may not but you do not come crying to the developers because of that. /rant

- Finds a bottle of Alcohol tincture. "HEY CRAIG, WE'RE GONNA GET SOO SHITFACED IN A MINUTED" - Takes first swig of the alcohol. > I have a funny taste in my mouth. "OH FUC-"
-
Well it depends to be honest. When I played the Arma II mod then I had a group of 6 players on at one time but over time some players quit and some players joined. In SA I play with 2 other guys but normally I play on my own.

I like betraying people, I literally cannot stop betraying people.. I once talked this guy into grouping with me and a few other guys I had been talking to over teamspeak. we were planning on murdering him, I had other plans.. Me and my group, flew him far up to windy mountain. Once we landed, we said that we were going to 'huff' it to our camp. "Eat and drink before we leave, that way we won't have to stop on the way there.' The group ate and drank and I took the new guy down to our little trap. he was just a fresh spawn; didn't have anything to offer.. So we took him down to this large barbed-wire surrounded camp. There was a tent on the opposite side of the entrance, I told him to get supplies from it. He ran over to the tent, Fool. Then it was go time, I pulled out more barbed-wire and sealed the entrance. "Hey man, there's just food and water in this" he told me as he turned around. "You have been captured, we had plans to murder you but it seemed like too much of a waste resources just to kill some fresh spawn. In that tent, I have taken the liberty to supply you with 5 cans of food and water. There is also a makarov with one bullet when you are done with the ordeal." "What, why would you do this!" "I just like keeping people as my prisoners. Good bye." *Puf't* A makarov bullet wizzed passed my head. I replied "You missed" followed by an evil laugh

So I was on top of a hospital roof scanning around for any enemies, I then proceeded to walk closer to the edge of the roof to look below. I stopped but I realised that I was still hopping towards the edge. I pressed the "S" key but I proceeded to hop to my death. Has anyone had any encounters with rubber banding? This was my first frustrating experience with it.

I suppose it would work if people could manage to tell the friendly players where they would be setting up camps and trading posts. I don't think that would really work. You'd have to have a large group and the ability to hide vehicles. Not to mention most people would sit in the tree line and shoot at you from a distance...
-
Overall it was a good suggestion though :beans:
-
how many of you would kill this player.
Demophon replied to ososensual's topic in General Discussion
The same thing I've done when I meet people. -
Woah woah woah, don't tell him to add stuff when he's already got an enormous list to try and complete already, and why the hell should there be crossbows? Anyone with a pistol could out do someone using a crossbow any day...
-
The Zombies in SA are so good in so many ways but they need serious fixing since they can walk through objects and are most of the time oblivious. But overall the SA zeds have so much more potential than the mod zeds
-
Why the hell does that matter anyway. There isn't any date that's continuing through out the DayZ calendar. People spawn on the coast of a foreign country and have to fight the remaining population of Chernarus to stay alive whilst also trying to avoid bandits and murderers. It's the story that Rocket had intended and also the story that the community have adopted. For example: http://www.chernojourno.com/index.php?sales
-
Alright. Let's evaluate your suggestion. People who are spawning can spawn anywhere in the northern cities of Chernarus. A.) Normal people with gear shoot on sight up north, so that wouldn't prevent KoS. B.) A fresh spawn runs straight to a military base finds a gun and kills someone who has been looting up north for hours on edge. So that promotes frustration and unhappiness that could make people complain. But when people come to the shore to kill fresh spawns, they gamble their loot. A fresh spawn could grab an axe and kill the "Bambi-Killer" and then they're set for loot. Also there isn't a lot of reason for people to kill themselves now-a-days, there is loot everywhere even at Krutoy Cap! So, this feature would not do ANYTHING in the way of killing fresh spawns. It would also spoil the story of the fact that fresh spawns were once washed along shore and have to do everything they need to do to survive.

The Union of Asia's Important Announcement

Ah crap, alliances are forming within the DayZ community. Nothing new.
