Howdy Friends, As we're approaching 4 years now with DayZ (from its earliest Mod times to StandAlone-Alpha, I thought I'd post my collection of cartoons to remind us of how far we've come since having trouble with the Gamma and turning on Flashlights... LINK to my GoogleDrive for the .pdf download Enjoy, JeffDetroit

I've been experimenting with a DayZ comic about a totally clueless survivor by the name of Nooby McNoob. Follow along on his adventures! By the way, all of these comics have been drawn, colored, texted, composed, pdfed and uploaded entirely from my smartphone, so apologies in advance if it looks a little unpolished. Enjoy! Episode One: "Spawning in Kamenka" http://db.tt/Kn3cRfKX TIME MACHINE: Here is the Compendium of Episodes 1-35 of the comic series so far! (This link is a 7 meg .pdf download of awesome fun). http://db.tt/W6YXQ1yb

Heh heh, yeah, the StandAlone definitely will be filled with fresh bugs to drive everyone nuts. But that's what an Alpha is all about. I think my next NoobyMcNoob will be about vomiting after eating tons of rotten kiwis and bananas. Of course Rocket had to put kiwis in the game (New Zealand). Stay tuned... JeffDetroit.

Oh jeez, the StandAlone released. I'd better get posting again! I have been doing some DayZ hand-drawn comics for some Twitch streamers, but that doesn't do crap for you forumers (is that even a word?). Anyway, the Alpha-SA means I will have PLENTY of good material to play with. From 34 hour unconscious bouts, to rotten bananas, the sky is the limit. Characters even vomit. So so soooo Great! Okay, stay tuned. JeffDetroit

Security Vulnerabilities fixed by Patch #2 and Character wipe

It's all good. Character-wipes are funny, I mean, as material for my DayZ-themed comics. I'm looking forward to all of the "growing pains" Alpha-DayZ offers up for a year as it gives birth to a fascinating game. If you want a finished game, well, you shouldn't buy the Alpha, its that obvious. -
Lagging on a High end PC. on Low settings, wtf?
JeffDetroit replied to OrlandoKiller's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Wow, makes me feel better for not upgrading my 2.4 ghz integrated graphics computer! I'm getting 20 fps on a crap system! -
Episode 40 - "Don't Tase Me Bro" http://db.tt/XxTz1a7a Yeah, some of the weapons are a little OP...
-
I'm on a Pentium 2.6 Ghz and I'm getting 15-22 FPS after doing video optimizations and the Scene setting to 100000
-
I needed to have a few of the newer mods play out to get better/new material for the series. Once you start watching the Twitch feeds - you forget what time/day it is - and 6 hours later you're like "Umm why do my eyeballs hurt?"
-
Good work Fraggle. I love that you bring all sorts of different people into your comic. Nice work on the shading etc - it takes time! JeffDetroit

Episode 39: Nooby Goes for a Swim http://db.tt/7uDyaz6N Oh, I'm around. I've been watching heavy doses of DayZ Twitch streamers for material. Specifically: DigitalPrime, UpandcomingChris, Zenvolta, BigHoss, AdamFellow, and FresherData. Also been figuring out the specs for a new PC build. My old POS just isn't doing it at 8 FPS. Thinking GTX Titan. JeffDetroit

Episode 38 "Nooby Takes a Break" http://db.tt/XU5FXAFz Welcome Back Forumers!

I'm sorry to hear about your dog, Daisy, being sick. We have three dogs of our own and I would be devastated if they became sick. My sympathies. The comic series takes on all sorts of topics, some lighthearted, some serious. I'm glad you've been enjoying it.

Thanks. The second part of the series has Nooby counted among the wicked survivors (after his post-Daisy meltdown).

Episode 37, "Nooby Strays to the Darkside" http://db.tt/K7rFdlop

This Cap'n survivor sounds like the real deal. Nooby better be extra careful around him! Does Cap'n douse people with gasoline before tossing the lit road flares at them? The fun thing is, the framework of DayZ is pretty open to anything, so the comic can turn from all smiles to tears in a heartbeat. The 6th panel in Episode 36 suggests a "move to the darkside" for Nooby.

Dropbox interacts well with my cellphone's apps, and it is not everyday that I'll link to a 7 meg. file (just once every 35 episodes!). That said, I will give it a try (thanks!) bc I see lots of DayZ forum folk enjoy using it. My main concern is whether or not Dropbox is giving download issues (errors) for people. I want stability for my content. Thanks for your advice! JeffDetroit

I'm happy to say that we've reached 35 (or so) episodes of our friend Nooby McNoob's adventures. Attached is a link to the first compendium of those episodes (1-35). Enjoy! http://db.tt/W6YXQ1yb (it is nearly a 7 meg. .pdf so be patient on the download)
-
Now that I'm up to 35 episodes, guess there's enough to make a compendium. I'll cobble it together in the morning. Perhaps do a special cover for it. In-Game, I'm "JeffDetroit" and right now I'm logged out near the NE Airfield in Chernarus. Glad you're enjoying the series.

Daisy didn't "die" exactly... she's just hungry for things other than groins!

I think I'll combine the .pdfs into 1 thirty-something page .pdf that way it'll be easier to read them. a "Nooby McNoob Compendium" if you will... just give me a day or so to combine them (work frowns on my doing Zombie things on their time).
