  1. You bet we are! And don't think Gumby 4 is a wussy, he's the psycho of our little gang. He uses the wrong end of his mop on our victims, if you know what I mean!
  2. Can't reply, my brain hurts!

    Trackir In SA?

Actually, I don't own a Track IR 5, but I made one for $15 out of a couple of empty sardine cans, some coat hangers, a marshmallow Peep, and some duct tape. It works okay...
  4. Got the PERFECT squad for you mate: http://db.tt/vw0OT1IN Only thing is, there's five of us!

    **Planet F8L** New Server US

RabidD: Perhaps you should establish a new rule... no more pick-ups at the coast. If a bandit clan member dies, it is up to them to make their way back to your base-camp. This way, you get more actual bandit play time, the re-spawn gets more practice at survival (and feels a real need to "stay alive"), and you save on your bloodbags and morphine injections. Plus, you getting killed while going down for a pick-up just eliminates the whole reason for going down there in the first place. Either that, or, you move your base somewhere closer to the spawn zones.

    Trackir In SA?

Congrats on getting the Track IR 5. Did you also get the little fragile infrared emitter that clamps on to your headphones? Better be gentle with that one - looks quite twiglike! I can't imagine playing DayZ without the TrackIR5 - it is so seamless! Especially for a lefty. Since Arma2/Arma3 supports it, I can't think why the DayZ Standalone wouldn't.

    Love the graphic!

    Shhhh, I'm hunting wabbits

Realistically, after shooting a rabbit with NATO rounds, how much "meat" would be left?

    I'm a Part-Time Bambi Bandit and I Need Pointers

Yes, it seems, for the sake of my DayZ game play, I'm going to need to play more Arma2 as well. I'm sure my wife will understand why I'll be squirreled away in my man cave for 8 hours a day. "It's for improved accuracy honey!"

Last night was fun. I got to watch a heli kamekazi right near our little band. I'm going to need to practice a bit in Arma2 before I feel up to Banditing. (is that even a word?!)
  13. Wow, thanks for sharing. That was some amazing collection of strategy, foresight and patience. I love how the guy is waiting for the heli to be out of position for him to snipe undetected, and taking his time, and one shot - wait... is really a good lesson.

Applejaxc: Does your server smell like the inside of a box of fruity pebbles? I'm very particular.

Can anyone give advice for a noob

    Don't go to Green Mountain!
  16. Ocelot20: Yup. I attached my fleshlight to my crowbar and now I'm banned on all servers that allow players 16 or younger to participate. Actually dude, No. There is no duct tape in DayZ... Yet.
  17. When playing DayZ, I find that using the hatchet is really one of the few ways that I really enjoy experiencing the game from the standpoint of a zombie apocalypse. All of this bang! bang! kapow! explosion stuff just isn't for me. I'm not saying guns, motorized machine guns, and satchel charges should be eliminated, on the contrary, it is fun dodging and avoiding KOS PvP while looking for supplies. It just seems more threatening to me (and thus more scary and fun) when you have to be up close and personal with a crowbar or hatchet to defend yourself, than being 15-500 yards away and taking down zeds and people "remotely" with a gun. Yeah, yeah, guns and rifles and frag grenades exist in the game (and they still should!) but I think there are players who make a definite choice of weapon to accent their gaming experience. Close quarters combat is mine. The hatchet is for me. Anyone else adhere to this philosophy?

Why is the NE Airfield so lame?

NW Airfield: Sometimes it isn't about the looting, sniping and the vehicles... ...it is about the social networking. When I go up to the NW Airfield I make sure to wear a clean suit and tie, bring a stack of my business cards, and offer a firm handshake to everyone I meet up there.

    I'm a Part-Time Bambi Bandit and I Need Pointers

beatSTV: Well, the title suggests I'm new to being a bandit, and the accompanying text was my humorous attempt to relate my initial experiences as a new bandit. If I have in any way confused you, or wasted your time away from important international business then my apologies.
  21. I'll up the ante, Fleshlight is a better name than Torch!
  22. I found the VERY rare duct tape, and I attached the flashlight/torch to my axe.
  23. This is probably pre-noob stuff, but I actually never had to toggle back to my Windows desktop before now while playing DayZ. Anyway, I used Steam to download my Arma software so I guess there's that variable to consider, but now with Mumble and Teamspeak, and Track IR running, how can I switch momentarily from an active DayZ gameplay view to my desktop? Is there some default keyboard combo or do I need to set something up? Yeah, I know, basic and lame...
