Interesting discussion. There are certainly millions of gamers out there (male and female) who played as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, though, I'm not so sure about the realism in body structure. I think it is bit negligent of the game developers to overlook a good percentage of their customers with a lack of roleplay options. While skins might "seem" like an insignificant item on the To-Do List, just consider how often we 3rd Person our character to check out how "cool" the ghillie suit looks, or the camou, or the terrorist, etc etc This is a role play simulation, and I think varied body shapes are important, more important than 10 new texture-mapped canned food items. Note: I, for one, would like options for varied levels of thin, average, husky builds on all of the characters.

"Whitelist" - isn't THAT racism? Only kidding. I don't actually know what that is exactly. But I do know that I have been playing on the Planet F8L server for a while and really like how the various Admins are attentive to the player's interests. Also, they put on regular events which are quite refreshing and challenging for DayZ players. The more folks who try their server out, the better those events will become. Plus, their beans taste better! (extra fiber)

Imagine zombie clowns chasing you through the forest, across the stretches of barren wastes, in the cities. The placement of an abandoned circus on the outskirts of one of the lesser visited cities, filled with zombie clowns, would make for an exciting "DayZ tour" I'm both terrified and amused by the idea of a survivor being chased in the night by a dozen of thr floppy shoed, garishly attired, red-nosed freaks!

I was up on the fire station roof (back one in Electro) and decided to take the ladder down as I didn't see/hear any zombies. Two of the shits were in a little welcoming committee for me at the base of the ladder. Lost lots of blood. Loved it!

Good ideas, RabidDiabetic. I've made the DayZ experience fresher by doing a few different things: 1. Removed random keys from my keyboard 2. Played while wearing mittens 3. Wore a blindfold while walking through Cherno 4. Carried a lit flare at all times! 5. Fire off the Lee Enfield in the middle of the big cities as frequently as possible 6. Only fly the helicopter - upside down 7. Played "Hot Potato" with a timed satchel charge 8. Bicycle races across the base of sniper hill 9. Playing the "see how far my fishing boat will take me East" game 10. Trying to get more than 5 minutes of Side-Chat time singing "Don't Cry for Me Argentina" on a fully-populated server And those are just some of my ideas...

Yup, at the "Admin Hunt" event on Planet F8L a few days ago, there was someone from Belleville, Mi; Monroe, MI; another from Ann Arbor area. Considering players can (and do) log on from all over the world, it is a funny coincidence so many are from Michigan. 24 Hour LAN Party?

Did you join one of those "Noobie" DayZ servers? They're "supposed" to be less "kill on sight" and more, "help out the new guys" You Tube has lots of "how to survive your first day in Chernarus" type videos to give you some basics. Also, if you join a relatively "empty" server, then you can concentrate on the basics: Movement, Moving quietly around zombies, Finding enterable buildings, figuring out how to use your inventory, basic navigation. Busier servers may be a little rougher on you if players are shooting everyone they see, so you might want to get some practice on the quieter ones first.

Roughly, you download the Combined Operations off of Steam, that will put a bunch of Arma icons on your desktop (DayZ uses Arma 2 and adds in some additional "stuff" to make it a zombie derivative). Then download DayZ commander, and before running either you right click on the icon, properties run as administrator. Then your DayZ Commander has an update tab which will load up the special DayZ "stuff" - start with the basic DayZ (you can try out the Origins, 2017, Lingor etc etc versions later after you become more familiar with regular DayZ. After your DayZ software is "loaded (updated)" you click on the Server tab, find a server with "low ping (around 85 or lower) and a server running DayZ (vanilla) and double click on the JOIN server. Here's where you wait, and wait... You should see a black n white DayZ splash screen, and some loading bars, eventually you'll be in the "lobby" of the server showing who else is logged on. Forget what button to click but it is something like Join or Connect. Anyhow you'll see some more loading bars, and eventually, you'll start hearing the ocean waves. Then the screen will brighten up, and some location text will "type" on lower right corner of your screen. Then you should be good to go. After a couple of times, the procedure becomes easier.

Diary Entry: I decided to go up to Green Mountain. I heard that if you use a car battery, you can fry the control panel on the level with the locked hatch and open it up. Bet there's a bunch of good loot up there. Bringing my camera to take photos of my success. See yah suckers...
