    Buried Stash/Tree Stash

Just so we're on the same page here, it's kind of hard to hollow out a tree. Harder than just cutting it down, even. If you want to make that hollow somewhere it won't be obvious, or if you want to be able to place things in it without them falling out, that's much, much more difficult. Trees are hard.

    Anti-aircraft weapon

Choppers fly in slow, predictable flight paths. The only time you should have difficulty hitting one with bullets is if it's doing a high-altitude run, at which point it isn't really affecting you, or if it's buzzing a clearing at high speeds, at which point you should probably just get into the trees. High-speed attack runs need to be lined up from a distance, and can only be done on obvious, easily visible targets. Helicopters engaged in low-speed hunting runs or that are hovering are quite easy to hit unless they're unusually high up; in that case, being high up benefits you more than them anyway, because you're a smaller target with lots of cover and a planet to blend in to.

    Locked, unlootable gear

That doesn't really help. A lot of bandits kill for safety or fun, and not being able to loot someone isn't a reason not to kill them, it's a reason not to loot them.
  5. I'd rather keep bikes as something special, so they're more meaningful when found.

    Character wipes with patch releases

This is no more of a game than an outline is a novel or a pilot is a show; this is an alpha. This is a fun alpha, with a great concept and gameplay that exceeds its industry peers, but it is at its core still a giant test on the way to making an actual, functioning, game. Major patch resets would also encourage everyone who's here for the fun, not for the work (who from the looks of it make up most of the hate and rage threads about bugs on these forums) to put off playing for a while until the gameplay smooths out. It would make the alpha a nicer place to test, and more importantly, we wouldn't risk alienating the number of users who don't understand alpha that we do right now.

    Anti-aircraft weapon

This strawman in no way mitigates how stupid and out of place a Javelin or AA gun would be in Day Z.

    Burying stuff

A simple search would have turned up tons of these...

    Character wipes with patch releases

I might not like it, but OP is right. Resets every patch would not only help highlight new bugs and reduce the incidence of bugs related to the transition from one version to another, it would also reduce the amount of attachment people have to their characters. This is an alpha first.
  10. Your "constructive criticism" is suggesting rocket actually throw out progress and backtrack to earlier builds because they're glitchy. This is completely contrary to the idea of an alpha. If you don't like bugs and game-breaking glitches, why are you here? Leave and come back in the beta or after Day Z is released. Some of us are actually here to help find those problems so that they don't show up for people like you later down the line. The more hackers, errors, glitches, and game-breaking bugs we experience, the better, because the alternative is that those things go unnoticed until a crucial stage of the game where people actually expect a mod that doesn't have them.

    Anti-aircraft weapon

We already have anti-air weapons. They're called bullets, with the occasional M136 showing up to punch the sky.

    More Loot at Deerstands

Deer Stands are already plentiful, insanely well-stocked and zombie-light sources of military grade hardware for players. I really don't feel like we need to make them an even bigger jackpot; it's already pretty ridiculous at the moment. Consider that all the other places to get military loot are usually camped out the ass by bandits and server-hoppers: the odds of you dying from visiting a deer stand are a fraction of the odds of you failing to hit up an airfield or military base.

    Zombies or Infected, not both

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

Or in other words its a way for bandits to farm humanity. The fact that they're trying to farm humanity is an improvement, because it means they value it. Besides, if you're making corpses just to bury them, you're going to find yourself losing humanity fast.
  15. I'd rather see the weather be random, personally. Real life weather is predictable far in advance, but you never know when you're going to get caught in a downpour in Cheranus.

    Bury survivor to regain humanity

I like this suggestion a lot. It's a way for someone who kills to atone, or to say they're sorry for what happened. Even if they're just doing it because of the mechanical benefits of high humanity, for no emotional reason at all, they're still performing an action for the sole reason of mitigating or reducing the consequences of what they've done. It's about as close to caring about your character's morals as many players will ever get.
  17. That's not really what I'm suggesting. Could you perhaps offer some development on that concept, like why you think it would be an improvement and what ways you think it would influence the game?
  18. One of the most common ways I see people justifying their murder of other players is to (correctly) state that they're just playing the game how they want to, and have a right to PvP based fun as anyone else does. With this in mind, now that we have low humanity detection, what about the other end of this argument? Since it's perfectly appropriate for bandits to hunt and kill other players for loot or just fun, it should also be appropriate for players who like cooperation to have the same privilege. Say, to hunt and kill bandits because it makes them feel like they're making the game safer, and for fun. And since bandits now spawn without weapons (and there is apparently nothing wrong with camping around the coast in places like Cherno and Elektro killing newbies), there shouldn't be anything wrong with hanging out around all the places people spawn and killing anyone giving off a heartbeat? And since heartbeats only emerge from bandits with extremely low (negative) humanity, this action wouldn't actually have any negative impact on the people putting down the bandits? So, in theory, we could use the in-game tools available to us to create our own consequences for bandits (consequences they would be free to fight against themselves) instead of trying to get something hard-coded in that favors one play style over another? Does that sound about right? If so, it seems like something many of these outspoken anti-bandit people should be giving a try. It might even be fun. With the tendency many of these players have towards teaming up and working together, it should be even easier for them to do something like this.

    Seriously what happened Rocket?

For your finger painting analogy, the game around 1.6 was a few general smears on the page in the general shape of the object rocket wants to paint. You might have thought it looked nice, and you're welcome to your opinion, but you're not the artist, and he hasn't even begun to get anywhere near done. By all means, point out bugs you've found or gameplay decisions you think are causing problems, but playing an Alpha and expecting it not to change is like starting to read the Day Z forums and expecting no new posts to be made. Sort of. Crappy analogy.
  20. All I'm saying is that I've heard plenty of people decrying bandits and the lack of trust that has begun to become prevalent in Day Z, but I haven't heard of anybody actually taking the fight to the bandits and fighting murder with murder. Plenty of bandits camp the coast for newbies, but I have yet to see a carebear who camps the coast for bandits. In most post-apocalyptic fiction, if things like morality and law are enforced at all, it's usually by bands of regulators who decide to try and keep the peace with their guns; I don't see why we can't have something like that in Day Z. The heartbeat sound is only for extremely negative humanity, from what rocket has said, so self defense won't get you one unless you do it a lot.
  21. I was led to believe Humanity followed your character around between lives. If it indeed does not, maybe it should?
