etc (DayZ)

So about a week ago ts3 overlay plugin was updated. I was wondering if DayZ detects this as a hack as the overlay is injected over game (or something? i dont really know how it works)

Basically I want to report this server because of it being a 'clan server'. They booted me from the game because they were on and looting or something. I have the server name and IP, and I know it's no use here, but how can I find the host of the server and send them an email? I already looked up where the IP is being hosted and its on choopa.net, I'm not sure which service uses that to host their servers.

Yep, I am positive they booted me breaking rules. I saw notifications saying "Players will be kicked when the clan is looting" and I got a screenshot. Also I played for about 20 seconds, before hearing someone over the mic saying something along the lines of "Holy shit, get the fuck out" and then I was kicked.

I see you already signed up for the clan, but yep it's a US based clan.

I can run Arma 2 on single player perfectly fine, low settings, getting a range of 50-60 fps no lower. On DayZ I get around 30 fps, and once it drops (after about 10 minutes of playing or entering a town) it doesn't go back up. So I'm at about 12-18. On a lower resolution... Same low settings though. Is it something with Arma 2's multiplayer? Problem in DayZ? The server I was on had 0 people on besides me.

Hmm, i also seem to have the fps issue on Wasteland mod as well. Are there custom buildings there too? Again on singleplayer the fps is perfectly fine, constant 50+

I've been considering switching to Linux from Windows. Will DayZ SA work natively on Linux? Is it being developed for it, or only Windows?

Before you say the answer "It will be the same as Arma II", read this. I can play Arma II at 60 steady fps in single player, but multiplayer is when the fps drops to 20ish, which is unplayable for me. DayZ SA will be an all multiplayer game (right?) so will it be the same in multiplayer where my fps drops very low?

I was wondering if this is possible to host a server for JUST 2 people. I know how port forwarding works and have a computer that I can host the server on when we want to play, obviously it wouldn't be 24/7 for 2 people. Is this possible and how would I go about doing it if so? I have no intent to release my IP to the public because of DoSing. If I wanted a public server I would rent one, but I just want a small 2 slot private server.

From what I can see official servers save your items cross servers? Is this the same for vehicles? What about your position on the world? Private hive servers are just servers that have different items, rules, etc. How can you tell if a server you are on is a hive server?

Thank you for the information. How are public servers hosted? By a user or by the DayZ developers? Couldn't server hosters just spawn items and go to another public server?

I have a decent laptop that can run most games at high speeds, I get over 100 on Minecraft, about 180-200 on CS:S, 100-130 on Gmod, etc However I'm stuck at low fps's on DayZ. I don't go anywhere above 25ish... Any way to fix this? I have AMD Radeon HD 7640G + 7670M 1GB 4GB ram

I just bought ARMA 2 CO last night and installed Arma 2, and Arma 2 OA. I also installed the DayZ Mod from Steam and it didn't work, so I ran Arma 2 OA and went to expansions, and checked the @dayz and DayZ ones. I then restarted and DayZ was installed or whatever. However I cannot join any servers due to Bad version errors. Every server is the same thing. Is there any way to fix this? Also what should I be launching DayZ from? The DayZ mod in my steam inventory or Arma II OA?

I just updated my AMD drivers, and I noticed that I ran the game somewhat faster, however I also noticed there were only 2 other players on the server I was on. Earlier there were about 10-15 and about 5 were in the city I was in. Do other players cause lag at all?

DayZCommander is bad and I have a connection issue with it so I tried withSIX and its so confusing. I really have no idea how to do anything. I tried launching the game on a server and it tells me there are updates for the game but I just updated with DayZCommander and played fine about an hour ago. The menu is very confusing what am I supposed to update? What game do I put DayZ on? I have DayZ installed on steam, does it automatically detect it? please help

I figured out my issue. I have beta patched with DZC, and had DayZ installed from Steam. I wasn't sure why Six wanted me to install DayZ again but I realized because the DayZ folder was in the steam folder, not the mod folder that is created. I realized this after installing it with Six. But since I beta patched with DZC not Six, will that bring any issues in the future? What I mean by deleting DayZ from steam is actually deleting all of it's content. Since I downloaded it from steam it should be in the steam folder. I'd like to keep my mods organized and want to just keep DayZ on Six. Would this work fine?

I used the fps config without any luck. I go into a city and get like 10-12 fps ... Would ram help this? im planning on buying 4gb more ram soon

Ohh that makes sense now. I found @DayZ in my documents Arma II folder. Can I delete DayZ from steam now?

Why is it making me update Arma 2 CO to play when I already have it all updated perfectly fine... this is so confusing I hit update on DayZ under the mod selection tab and it goes halfway and sits on Processing doing nothing at all......... Why is it having me update? shouldnt steam be doing the dayz updating? i installed it from steam
