wow man, looks awesome! The noise-/visiblitymeter beside the crosshair is too annoying in the middle of the screen imo. A crosshair is more then enough in the middle of my screen! The interface reminds me a little bit of what i saw in the devision trailers.

Base building - Why is it so important to everyone?
m.cab posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hey guys, i asked myself a lot lately why base building seems to be so important to a lot of players. I see many ppl talking about their bases in other "dayz mod-mods". Players are talking about how important it is to them in the SA and crying that it is not implemented in the mod. Even in all the interview stuff with Rocket he got asked about base building about a hundred times and also mentioned that it is very important to him and he realizes its very important to the players... (this was not a quotation!) However, i was playing some mod-mods (yeah thats my new favorite word now!) and watched people how anxious they were about their bases. I was with some guys in 'wasteland' and they went gathering building material and building their base for about three hours and i just thought "wtf whats the sense of it?!". I understand that "having a base" basically doesnt seem to be an illogical thought in an zombie apocalypse, since it usually means safety to a certain degree. Its a place where you can collect and store your loot and achieved items. It can support safety like a fort with big walls and locks but also in a pychological way...you know a "beeing home, feeling safe"-way. Personally i couldnt care less about base building. For me, it doesnt fit in dayz mod. I want to travel and find rare stuff, meet other players and see the rest of chernarus. For me, the mod is more about 'moving' then 'resting'. BUT that is just MY opinion and playstyle and i dont wanna critizise someone whos into all the base stuff and thinks another way! ...I am just curious! What i want to ask you guys is, are bases important to you and why is that so? Shouldnt we play minecraft to satisfy the "creating a base apetite"? Am i missing something about the whole topic? Please enlighten me! (: cheers p.s. not to forget: ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US! -
I found a military base with tents and dead soldiers north of Prigorgsky

The US servers are hosted by bmrf, who do give people gear for donating. The EU servers are hosted by zombies.nu (who are the actual developers of the game), who do NOT give people gear for donating. ...as i mentioned here already.

I thought this would be inception?! http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/user/42219-inception/

Thats what Patrick thinks of you now: :facepalm:

wait, wait, wait! People who read my posts know that i am a BIG enemy of pay-to-win/microtransactions and i want to clarify what dayzero does is NOT pay to win! Two things: 1. zombies.nu (who are the developers of dayzero) offer reserved slots as a "thank you" to their donators and you can get another skin if you are a big donator. thats it. No advantages in game (weapons, vehicles etc.). 2. bmrf (who are hosting the dazero servers in the US) are offering pay-to-win! Yes it is pay-to-win, even if you only get rather small "packs". They already had the donate-for-gear policy when they were hosting vanilla servers. Conclusion: The pay-for-gear thing is bmrf exclusive and has not directly to do with dayzero.

To me, DayZero has become vanilla DayZ. No, they didnt reinvent the wheel and thats exactly why it is so good! I played a few other mods but didnt really like them because they didnt "feel" like dayz anymore. Basically, its DayZ vanilla MUCH improved regarding performance, bugs and gameplay. Yes, they added a few more locations and different guns but with a lot of thoughts and love. They are trying very hard to keep the game authentic and not overwhelm it with guns, cars and other shit. I also like very much that they are VERY close to the community by posting regulary on the forums and commenting on user posts. They changed some stuff about the Zeds but they basically feel like in vanilla altough they are even more agressive and evil. They removed the silly infection crap. I didnt really recognize the missing grass thingy tbh since i put trees+grass setting down to be able to still be competative to the other players. I bet 95% of people who try DayZero for 5 to 10 hours will agree that its pretty much ahead of vanilla currently....lets see what the next patch brings

oh yeah the red roofed barns! I kinda have a love & hate relationship with them. Its possible to find awesome shit in there but there are those days when you find like 4 hatchets in the same barn (while your only current item is a hatchet!) or 3 gas cans. Anybody knows what i mean? :D

What are you doing to the game we love?
m.cab replied to Aitchy791's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
to op: im on Mobile so i'll keep it short: the game is in d3velopment for a long time but its still PRE-ALPHA (like it or not)! besides that (sorry for beeing a little offensive), you Sound like my grandpa who things every change is generally bad. to me it looks like they are keeping the essential game experience just like it is and expand it. fantastic. -

First vs Third Person Discussion (Dslyecxi video)
m.cab replied to DemonGroover's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I agree with Dslyecki except for one thing: The driver of a car should always get 3rd person activated. Simple reason is that the mirrors dont work! In a real car you can be pretty much aware of whats going on beside and behind you because of the mirrors. Note that i am only talking about the driver. EDIT: ups, just saw flux already mentioned it. Are you sure it was a one of the monument? Only thing i can think of is a broken tank next to a house (east of the street) at "three valleys". Make sure you tell us where it was, you got me curious there! (;
