That is only true to a certain point. At some point you reach the boundaries of the game, its mechanics and its diversity. It all comes down to its complexity and variety and that is the Sandbox you are playing in and you are able to set your "goals" in. Once you have seen every grain of sand in your Sandbox it becomes boring to play in it. Take "Pong" for example. A black and white screen. Two white clubs and a white dot. How many hours will you be able to play it until it becomes boring? Or better said, how many hours will you be able to set yourself goals without becoming boring?

OP is 100% right. Thats why people stopped playing the (vanilla-) mod after 300+ hours. You reach a point where you have seen every item and every blade of grass in chernarus. That was the point where the complexity of the huge map and the game mechanics ended and people started switching over to mods like epoch and other stuff to get some "endgame" (in this case base building). Thats why i feel sorry for you guys who play the alpha so many hours. You are taking away the immersion yourself. Once the game is complete you will already have experienced 80% of it but in a shitty state.

A lot of sounds are just placeholders and there has not been done much on the whole soundsystem is what they said i think. Also think i read they hired a new sound guy to redo all audios...

I think its a good idea. I also would recommend removing hunger/thirst systems and spawning in a pink icecream truck which shoots heart-shaped laserbeams. Of course when you get hit the whole server gets a message with your location so that everybody can come and give you free hugs! YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG!

Its not the consumers job to check the map size of a 2013 state of the art game before he buys a graphics card, is it? Its the developers job to make their game well playable and optimized compared to other games on the market! Its not like OP bought a ferrari and complains about how much fuel it takes or smth...He is just trying to give other people who bought this game a heads up that its not necessarily their fault that the game runs bad atm which is 100% legit imo. NOTE: I am not saying that devs are doing a bad job and i am totally aware that this is alpher and i am totally fine with it!

Why does a random user (no offense Sloddor!) tell the rest of the community how to play the test servers? Do the devs really want to play "everybody" on the test servers? Why didnt they comunicate it so that everyone joins it and helps testing/developing the game?

i think he's right. The mismanagement from bohemia and rocket is obvious! They should immediately hire every single technican, programer and designer from google, microsoft and apple to push this game to its limit. When done, rocket is supposed to release Half Life 3, doom 4, fallout 4 and the iphone 6, together with his new operating system (Winlux 9). All those products are going to be released on a new holiday called "Rocket day" which replaces 24th of December since Rocket is the new jesus anyway. Of course all those actions are performed at the rocket headquaters which are (obviously) on the moon! GET THAT SHIT DONE ASAP ROCKET! :facepalm: Sorry, i think i got a little bit carried away there! (;

Got a similar problem. My game freezes every 10-15 mins or so BUT after a minute of freezing it continous running normal. O_o Maybe its the same for you! Do you have a monitor with a higher refresh rate then 60hz (Benq XL2420 here)?

Hardware suggestions: -Add support for 120/144hz monitors. ("feels" like 60hz refresh rate, not 100% sure though) -Add support for dual-monitor (so that game is "locked" to one screen so the cursor cant leave the screen) EDIT: temporal fix for refresh rate. Go to documents/dayz/dayz.cfg and change refresh rate from 60hz to whatever your montior has.

This is so not true. Its not the mods who killed some of DayZ. In fact its exactly the opposite! They kept it alive while the dev team "renewed" their concept and development direction and the game stagnated for month! If there wouldnt be Epoch, Overwatch, DayZero, Origins etc etc. so many people would have lost interest in DayZ in general. In 90% of the cases modding is passion and love from the people who love their game (ye i sayed 90% because there is stuff like origins ;) ) How can people say modding is a bad thing?! What is vanilla DayZ? A mod! A mod of Arma2! Rocket created it out of passion and love sitting in some shitty swamp or whatever. Who knows what possiblities and pottential the the SA will have to invent other new crazy stuff and funny games. Modding made it possible to swing the crowbar and fire the rocketlauncher 5 million times more then people normaly would have! I dont even wanna talk about TeamFortress, CounterStrike and so on. Modding is passion and commitment.

yapp, the HDTV could definately be the reason. Just do a gamesessions on your regular monitor for comparision i'd recommend!

Good point from Het there. Its not like you get your gear back for free when you die. To me, there are two things which makes it kinda legit. 1. Find it again before someone else finds it. 2. Find it before the server restarts. Since there is a challenge involved i think its cool. Besides that, when you die to a gunfight your corpse will get looted and/or hidden anyways.

I think this is extremely not true. In fact, DayZDB is super accurate. Please name a spawn which is wrong on current map! The only thing which never was right are the vehicle spawns.
