Anyone playing less or completely stopping until the new DayZ patch comes out?
CrossShade replied to hazychestnutz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
A test base of 20k is WAY more than needed for that. 230k just makes the devs have to search through whiners about certain systems (ones that are remaining) to fix or alter ones that require it. -
So.. Have All The Clans/Groups Hid All The Cars Away On Every Server
CrossShade replied to Nickprovs's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Found a bunch today, just unlucky is all, not all the vehicle spawns are logged down. The map that shows the spawns is out-dated and doesn't represent a lot of the spawns correctly. -
Dude. Stop. You're wrong. How many people have to point it out? Just go watch the fucking beginner's tutorial video I linked that shows' date=' step by excruciating step, exactly why our math is not flawed. P(A) over t trials is equal to 1.00 - P(not A)^t. So P(nvg) over t loot piles = 1.00 - P(not nvg)^t. That's it. That's just it. That's all there fucking is to it. Chapter motherfucking one of any fucking text on statistics. I tried to be polite stop being a fucking retard about it. Here's another link. Note: To find the probability of two independent events that occur in sequence, find the probability of each event occurring separately, and then multiply the probabilities. Looking in one loot pile and then another are two independent events that occur in sequence, so to find the probability of finding NVGs we multiply the probabilities of not finding them in one pile by the probability of not finding them in the second, and take that away from 100% (the set of all possible results). Continue like this for any number of loot piles - in other words, 1.00 - P(not nvg)^t. And yet another. Note: If events are independent, then the probability of them both occurring is the product of the probabilities of each occurring. And another helpful video. Can I stop now? Go away. Read. Watch. Learn. Come back when you're ready to thank us for teaching you something about stats that your pompous ass thought you already had such a grasp on but clearly didn't so when you go off to college in the fall you can act like you knew it all along and impress all the freshman girls. Except for that maths cannot be applied to percentile based loot. Again, by your logic looting 1000 times would net over a 100% chance to find NVG's. Not actually true.

What's the difference between the M4A1 CCO And the M4A3 CCO?

CrossShade replied to stinkyghost's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wiki states that the M4A1 has semi-burst while the M4A3 goes to fully automatic. This isn't correct ingame. -

Foregrip? Also, the Ammo used is the same, no difference in power. Sure the A3 model should only have burst, but doesn't ingame. (not 100% sure on this). -

Times that you lost some good loot on you.

No, you do not, you don't divide or multiple the chance, it's the same as poker here, you don't multiply chances, it's the same individual chance over a period of different piles. 0.11% over 18 not 0.11 * 18 = 1.92%. The statistics would say that people finding Nvg's at a 1.92% would find them more often A LOT more than 0.11 over 18. You are wrong, many people have tried what you said, even trying to apply different maths, always to be proven wrong. By your logic I have a 100% chance if looting enough to encounter NVG's/GPS, this isn't the case. *EDIT* On an MMO I used to play their was an item that dropped at 0.50%, by saying killing these separately I had a 0.50% reduction from NOT finding one, so, after killing 200 I would have theoretically under your logic made myself have a 99.50% - 99.50% chance of NOT finding said item, therefore having a 100% of finding it, clearly that is not the case as it's a 0.50% chance over x amount of tries. Always 0.50 to find, 99.5 to not. To add to this, I had sometimes found none of x item after killing over 1000 of said mob.

A common mistake made by many people, 0.11 in 18 loot piles is not 1.96 it's 0.11% with 18 loot spots. That will give a statistical drop rate lower than a 1.92% over let's say 200 times visited will.

Battleye : Kicked by Script Restriction #12
CrossShade replied to normandy's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Happened to me but for a different script error - 16. -
Found 3 GPS's in 3 days. If you play MMO's you'de realise 0.11% isn't too low, also it's a 0.11% x 18 if you consider all the loot spots they can spawn in. 12 from each barracks and 6 from the Hangers?

Ghillie suit and Camo for woman please
CrossShade replied to jbrodjeski@yahoo.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Could just put ghillie camo over your backpack bro. They exist in reality. /derp You haven't noticed that you currently can't loot a ghille wearers backpack at the moment then. It says Ghillie Camo, doesn't specify whether it's body/backpack or one or the other. -
Lets do this, Trading Station Delta - Edited
CrossShade replied to combatcomm1's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Another Trading station that wanted to introduce an achiles heal for no reason and it screwed the group over. -

Got some mp5sd Ammo (3) What is your steamid? Want any Stanag SD?
-
Add me, if I get any of those items I'd be interested in trading then, and in the future, hopefully if we grab any ammo types the other needs, we can keep persistent trading up. EDIT Whoops in my post I forgot to post my steam/skype. avidexpert on both.

Can we stop the CoD/BF3 name calling?
CrossShade replied to shadowvfx's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I will take your advice and go double, gonna be abusive and such and see how it goes ok? I hope you live to a ripe old age and have many children. If you even get offended, you break your own logic, so stop playing if so. x3 <3 By the way will you kick me from your server if I come on and start being abusive to people? -

Dear rocket, f**k humanity. Focus on Morality.

You infinitely restore my faith in Dev's. I'm actually considering studying Game theory and programming after seeing what you have done. Either that or Politics, so I can finally assert my Commie Nazi agenda on this failed imprudent earth :P Have you ever been in a psych ward? hint: I have. They don't carry guns. They generally piss themselves a lot' date=' fuck anything they can, and OD a lot. They won't be fighting the zombiepocalypse. That's the thing. The perspective is skewed from being behind the PC screen. Still means you need beanz right? Still need ammo? Social interraction is a huge part of being human. And coincidentally a part of the game that is lacking, and hard to encourage at the moment. Is there really anything negative that could arise from getting people to work with eachother for a while? would form more friendships, TS clans, etc. Then standoffs, not beach camps. I have a few friends I tried to get into this that refused to play until they were with me on TS being coddled like babies. (I think that's lame, but let's face it, gamers aren't used to it) And the longevity of DayZ involves getting people to get into it, not drowning them in elitist crap because they have no friends they play only FPS' with. I was once friends with a Sociopath, they wouldn't kill themselves. By the way some key things about Psychopaths. Psychopaths have a lack of empathy and remorse, and have very shallow emotions. Suicide threats rarely carried out. Absence of "nervousness" or psychoneurotic manifestations Absence of delusions and other signs of irrational thinking Pathologic egocentricity and incapacity for love. Lack of remorse and shame Unresponsiveness in general interpersonal relations Pathologic egocentricity and incapacity for love. Yes they would all suicide and not be the best survivors. /sarcasm
