"moment of weakness will get you killed" - Don't mistake my kindness for weakness. Just because I'm friendly doesn't mean I won't drop a bambi as soon as he seems to think he's getting my stuff. You messed up by being within axe range of that guy. Lack of situational awareness was your mistake which is a weakness. Playing as a friendly is infinitely harder than being a "bandit" and that's why I'm friendly (plus I play how I would act if it were a RL situation). I play games for a challenge, not to just take the easy route and CoD my way through a game that was supposed to be the opposite of that. -

I was doing great until my gaming rig died. I was on an active character (going into towns, not shooting on sight) for 40 something days when it crapped on me (which means the poor guy is still there). Like you, my camp was near Stary (and had been for a month), I would go into Stary with friends and I would make very frequent trips to NWAF. We had a UAZ and bicycle but rarely used both during the day time. Good times. So ready for my new rig! -

What Happened On Your FIRST DAY Of DayZ?

I remember my first spawn in. I chose a server (mind you I had not seen a single DayZ video). I don't recall the city (because I had no idea what the words meant when they "clicked in" and went away) but I remember it being nearly pitch black. While making my way towards a town it became PITCH black. All I could HEAR was zombies. I got into a corner near a window and just listened to the zombies gurgle, moan,and walk around the house. I was scared shitless. I eventually logged out and then picked up the next day. -

There are quite a few instances of Kevlars (helmets we use in the USMC) stopping rounds. You can even youtube some of the guys taking their helmets off and seeing the huge melons on their heads afterwards. -

I personally prefer public servers (that way I don't have to remember a server name, I can just play whenever and pick the server with the best ping) BUT the hackers.... :/ -
Great story. You get beans simply for being a proper bandit when you were one. (I'm not a bandit btw). Good stuff.

There's a video where a guy tricks a survivor into getting in a chopper then flies him there (there is a tent), tells him to grab all the gear he wants and as the dude gets out of the chopper, they fly away.....

This suggestion gave me cancer. Learn to aim and communicate. Just like real life, if you don't communicate you can kill each other. As the combat instructor would say "Stop being a bitch and open your mouth". -

Vanilla, eh? Seems too good to be true hehe. I'll talk with our guys and see what they think. Not sure how well the ping/lag will be with it in the UK. -
I've given my position out before. I'm not a bandit, but I'll sit back away from where I said I was and just watch them search for me. Once you have them in that area you tell them you see them. Talk about what they're doing. Freak them out a little. ;)
