The people who complained about too many zombies were the same people crying that they were too fast. AKA PvE types who can't deal. They should remain fast' date=' AND there should be randomly spawned hordes as opposed to "spawn 20 zombies in city if a player approaches." [/quote'] People complained they were fast because zombies in 'real life' (that is, based on all the popular zombie mythology) aren't 'supposed' to be fast. They are 'supposed' to be hordes of slow creepy walkers. For technical reasons I doubt we'll see those hordes because that will tax the server. So we'll just have to accept smaller numbers of fast zombies.

Incentives to Cooperative Play
haviv[3rdid] replied to ZedsDeadBaby's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yeah, bandits can form a brotherhood of evil and hunt down stray survivors. -
The whole premise is dumb because instead of playing a game for hours, you could be having this 'contact' in the real world. So why would characters in the game be punished for not having any contact?
-
You can already do that in real life. Just go to Seattle. :)

Chernarus is becoming stale. New map?

The real problem is that zombies are too dumb. You can crawl in an open field full of zombies and they won't see you. Change that and it will be much harder to loot a barn.

After you are killed by a survivor...
haviv[3rdid] replied to joker76's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
One of the funny things about ArmA3 was that you can shoot someone, wear his clothes and nobody notices the blood all over you. -
But he's not there. He just left the radio for you to find and now he has you in his sights...
-
Simple: don't make prone crawling so invisible in an open field that's crawling with zombies and you won't have to add more zombies.
-
Everyone would be in buildings so there will be more CQC So my answer is YES
-
An odd argument considering how every survivor is a trained professional with any gun in the game. :dodgy: You need to aim with a gun's sights. With knife, you don't need any skill because there's no Kali slashing simulation (why didn't Nintendo come up with THAT for the Wii???)
-
Yeah you should have to confirm your kills. You shoot someone, he goes down. Maybe you missed? Now he knows where you are. Snipers should also have doubts and fears.

Make CZ rare as M24 //reduce probability of scoped weapons
haviv[3rdid] replied to giorgygr's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If it's a civi weapon then it should be common. If it's a military weapon then it should be hard to get. The nice thing about realism is that you don't have to come up with all kinds of equations to balance gameplay. Just look at what's available in the real world. -
In the ACE mod, we have the ability to lock our pack so that only members of a team can access it. My suggestion would be to only give the people that you choose the ability to access items in your pack (permission must be granted for each item in your pack). Someone who kills you just for your stuff will not get anything and he just wastes a bullet. However, if he finds a lock pick he will be able to loot dead players. In this way, kill-to-loot will still exist but most players will have more incentive to work together in order to get stuff.
-
Then it's not very realistic because everyone has lockable packs in the real world (which is why it is part of ACE). On the other hand, knives and picks should also very common (again, just let the real world be the guide) and bandits will have all their fun again. But at least some effort must be made to get a tool besides just killing someone in the first 5 minutes.

go 2.0 Leave this sh*t alone for now
haviv[3rdid] replied to Disgraced's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Chernarus is a spooky dreary map. DayZ could've used other maps on ArmA2 with enterable buildings but they wouldn't give the same zombie experience. Scuba diving zombies off the sunny beautiful coast of Greece would also be missing the point. -
Bring back the old bandit skin (You ever watched a post-apoc movie?)
haviv[3rdid] replied to CrimsonBlade's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
People shouldn't automatically 'turn' into bandits like before but most clans have some kind of visual identification to distinguish friend from foe. There could be multiple 'bandit' skins to choose from and some clans would hunt other groups down or form alliances. And of course there should be the lone wolf bandits who will look like ordinary survivors.
