    Suggestion for killing on sight

Very Ape, great comments. I agree, this is a "zombie" survival game which means the zombies should play a major part. The element of pvp is always fun but it'd be even better if zombies were the real threat, because of their numbers and ability to kill you.

That was what I originally suggested Grabbin. If you improve the zombies, in particular, make them respond to sound in addition to sight, they will be much harder. And have LOTS of them on the servers, especially in cities.......sort of like the walking dead. If a zombie apocalypse happened, cities would have more than just 40-50 zombies....they should have thousands.

I think a recent statement by Rocket said they were going to leave out the button press to aim option so I wouldn't count on that. Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys. It's cool to see the different ideas on how this game could possibly be better. I like the idea of making zombies harder so that they are a real threat as well as populating the server with more zombies. The whole point of the game is surviving against a zombie apocolypse. If the zombies aren't a threat, whats the point of the game.....there are much better games for pvp shooter play. If you make the zombies respond to sight and sound then gun shots are a major attractor..... a person would have to think twice about firing a gun. If you're in a tight situation, sure....fire your gun but then you better get the heck out of that area because lots of zombies are coming and even some bandits.....then again, if they fire a shot at you, they might attract zombies toward them. People would still be able to play lone wolf style, they would just have to be more stealthy.......kill a person with a knife as opposed to a gun. So if a person walks toward you with their knife drawn, you know what they're thinking.

Well, for the standalone, supposedly the zombies are spawned server side which would allow them to populate areas that normally don't have any (like the woods in the dayz mod). This would also allow them to spawn zombies in much greater numbers so I think the distance thing would work well. Also, if bandits decided to try and kill you, they would be taking the chance to attract the horde with their shots fired. One really good reason for grouping with guys would be survival. Lets say you're in a smaller town scavenging.....and there are other people scavenging in the town too but not with you....and a gas tank blows up......all of a sudden a horde is coming down upon you and you either work together with the other people in that town to try and get away to survive or you all die......things like that.....
  5. I don't know if this has been suggested and I don't have a ton of time to read through or search for this so if this is a repeat post, sorry guys. I know shooting on sight has been a big issue in the dayz mod. Most people will come close to each other and assume the other person is going to kill them. What if you had events that required teamwork or certain areas that are so loaded with zombies that it would be impossible to scavenge or get through without help from others. This would encourage grouping up and teamwork. Another thing is, most games have zombies that are attracted to sound. Also, gunshots are loud (especially from certain guns like rifles) and the sound can travel for quite a distance. What if you had it to where any gun shots fired attracted zombies within a certain radius.......say a half a mile or so. Or to break it up further, zombies in the immediate vicinity would go in a frenzied state to reach the sound but the farther away the zombies are, the slower they would start traveling toward the sound. So from the zombie's point of view, the louder the sound is, the more you're gonna want to try and reach it. That means if you had two people meet each other, they would have to seriously consider the consequences of shooting their gun which would possibly attract a horde of zombies numbering in the hundreds. I don't know, what do you guys think?.....
