I don't think many folks have got the time to start answering that question, you'd be here a while :D You do? He's going to make a nice decoration for the bottom of my shoe when I find him.

The duck is a bit "special needs". Just ignore it, it gets bored and fucks off after a while.

NEAF - DMR Action - Little Bird - Bandits!

Nice dude. I haven't watched the video 'cos it doesn't really interest me (mildot geeks, pssshht), but I like watching other channels emerge and see their progress. You are off to a good start, you've got the facecam thing going on (although I'd recommend trying to get that in colour), your vids are good quality and you've got the little menu / reminder thing at the bottom. If you put half as much effort into your vids as you have into the rest of your channel, I see great things coming for you! -
This isn't a suggestion, it's just an idea I thought we as a community could elaborate on. I shamelessly stole this idea from Xeno5643 on Youtube, in the comments section of this vid (keep your opinions of Frankie out of here please, that's not what this topic is about). His comment was a reply to Krillin Son. It's basically addressing the whole KoS mentality and how there doesn't seem to be any deterrent from being a cold hearted killer. Now I am well aware that being a bandit is part of the game, however, and this is purely my opinion, it's gotten out of hand to the point that it's almost impossible to find someone who doesn't kill on sight (a bit of context here: I stopped playing after the infection got out of hand, so if this has changed in the last month or so, take that into account). The original comment reads: They should make it so, that depending on where you shoot a person, it will destroy items and equipment. Like shooting in the head deals no damage to items on your inventory (in Pockets on both shirt and pants) or backpack. Shooting directly onto the backpack, will damage most items in the bag. Shooting from the front, will damage things majorly on your inventory and a little in the bag pack. This might stop bandits from shooting on sight and actually rob people, but I'll doubt it'll do much. Xeno then goes on to reply: Something like that combined with low humanity causing you to become paranoid and hear imaginary gunshots and other ambient noises would be good. Personally, I think this is a brilliant idea. From a realism point of view, it's more than possible that a murderer will experience mental side effects after killing someone. Thes effects could subside over time, or they could be countered with actions such as bloodbagging (this would need to be expanded into more actions IMO). Say a bandit kills someone, it activates a 6 (just a random number) hour timer in which the bandit hears gunshots and perhaps cries for help which is very feasible in real life, after the 6 hours the effect wanes and the bandit is able to continue playing normally. I've got more I'd like to jot down on this but this is fast becoming a TL;DR post so what are everyone's thoughts on this?

Somebody watch Frankie's video then?

Donating is ruining this game faster than the hackers
diddums replied to BerkshireHunt's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Having run servers for numerous games over the years, I can tell you that it does get frustrating at times because a solid income from donations can never be relied upon. People will inevitably lose interest over time, they might lose their job or have personal issues which prevent them from being able to contribute. This means that you are forking out the fees from your own pocket, which gets to be a bit much. For people to ask for contributions is one thing, but as with many things which involve money, greed sets in and people find ways to squeeze every last penny out of their server. This is where things become a bit fuzzy. At the end of the day the server needs to run for folks to play on, but many people take these servers for granted and don't chip in, so the admins need to find an incentive for people to chip in. Cosmetic stuff I think is perfect. The second you give someone something that others might not have, or take forever to find, that's when things are going downhill. The reason I stopped hosting servers was because of the fees. I'd love to run servers for various games, but people don't commit to costs and when they get bored, I'm stuck with a server that I pay for which I have to shut down, losing all game progress in the process (which for games like Minecraft can be hundreds, if not thousands of hours across the playerbase). Once you cross that threshold, people don't return because they have no security. The moral of the story is that from an admin's point of view, you need to be able to run the server without it affecting your own life, and from a gamer's point of view, you need to chip in a bit now and then to keep the machine well oiled. Giving people helis and weapons is not the solution, after all this is killing the very essence of DayZ to begin with. -
I like your man hugs.

Ghosters and Combat Loggers between US 659 and US520

You should probably get in touch with the server admins really, I don't think there's anything folks here can do, unless the admins read this. I could well be wrong though.
