I'm going to assume you have 8gb RAM and not 1, cuz if you had 1, you'd struggle to run Angry Birds. Yes, you will be able to run it. Not very fast or at very high settings, but it will work.

It does require a bit more grunt as the map is fucking huge and unlike ARMA, it needs to be loaded all the time. You usually require a bit more, but not much. THere's also a thread called "can I run it?" which should have some systems comparable to yours with some feedback. Check it out.

I just joined a public server and there is a player who keeps getting killed every 5-10 seconds. He stopped, then another player started. Is this something I need to worry about? Only reason I ask is that I'm not too keen on having some script punk teleport over to me and kill me.

This wasn't someone getting killed by zeds, this was literally a 5-10 second window after spawning before he got killed again. Thanks for the info, I've joined a mate's server which he maintains really well.

The last time I had a monitor burn in was back when I was playing Street Rod 2 in the good ol' DOS days. I was doing well and couldnt' save my game for some reason so I left my PC on and went away for a weekend. I came back and had a permanent newspaper ad burnt into my monitor :( Having said that, some monitors can be quite sensitive to this.

The screen is much more durable than the human body. If the monitor is having this burned in, it's time for a break.

There we were, my mate and I, he knowing the admins of the server we were on and I being a complete noob. He checked out a chat channel that the admins use and found out that they were at an airfield and decided to drag me along for some banditry. Cheating? Dunno, but as I'd only experienced one PK so far (also by his hand) I was definitely going to roll with him. On the way we find a red car stashed away which is in mint condition, has a full tank and is loaded to the arches with gear. Clearly someone's stash. I grab the bike we were riding, he grabs the car and off we go. On the way there are a few difficulties (zeds whacking me off my bike for example) but eventually we get near the airfield. Abandon vehicles, approach silently. I grab out my binocs and have a nose around to see if I see any activity. There's a crow's nest poking out above the wall which I declare clear so we start moving in. Armed with a Lee Enfield and feeling confident as the person that's taking the time to show me around is rather good at this sort of thing, I'm getting excited. We approach the outer wall of the airfield and some zeds decide they want our brains. I drop the Enfield and grab my hatchet and a few seconds later they're all dead. Pause. Resume. Hourglass. I'm knocked out with a few zeds munching at me. He's moved in without me and nailed one of the guys in the base. The other combat logged. He patches me up, we head inside and loot the corpse. Whilst certainly nice to be able to experience this, I can't help but think that it would've been much better had my internet worked properly and I'd have been able to help out more. Damn you BT!

Why all the hate? This dude's clearly trying to bring something positive to this already awesome community which in no way or form can be bad. He's using his own time and resources to create something in the hope that others will enjoy it and yet some of you insist on poking holes in it and telling him it's going to flop? If you don't like it, then keep it to yourself and bugger off. This dude could be sitting in his room wanking all day but instead he's trying to bring something to the table that some of us might enjoy. OP - Last time I had a crack at coding it was on Qbasic so I can't really help or suggest anything, but props for doing this and I hope you get it all figured out and off the ground!

Seriously? OP, how wide is the line? It sounds to me like it could be the monitor that needs adjusting. Not sure how old it is, but if it's fairly recent it'll have an auto-adjust feature. Hit that. If not, do it manually and see if it helps.
