Canned food - 200 blood. Cooked food - 800 blood. As far as I'm aware, you will only gain blood from eating if you are hungry. If you're not hungry and you eat, you don't gain any blood. Can anyone confirm this?

I love my hatchet. 99% of the time I'm playing, I've got my trusty hatchet equipped, and it's also the first thing I look for when I spawn. I just wish it was a bit more consistent, and that adding it to / removing it from my tool belt was a one-key action.

It's refreshing to see someone being optimistic about the game. There's no telling what the launch will be like, it could be awesome, it could be a bugfest, but there's no telling until it hits the shelves, so to speak. Either way, I commend your enthusiasm sir, have some of Heinz' finest. Good for 5 years if stored correctly dontchaknow.

Dude, a few things you need to take into account. Firstly, my sarcasm wasn't necessarily aimed at you as a person, but rather the small minority of people that join these boards for the sole purpose of complaining about something they got for free. Nothing gets under my skin more than a false sense of entitlement. Secondly, this isn't CoD. There is no mahoossive budget backing this up, there are no shareholders, no deadlines and no targets. Sure there might have been the odd hint here or there about a release date but what people are all too quick to forget is that this isn't being developed in some massive office with sexy secretaries with those fancy headsets, it's being developed in a small office at best, it wouldn't surprise me if these guys are doing it on their personal machines too. Things happen, expected or not. As a dev team, I'm sure they'd have LOVE to have had this game released by now and as it could well be the biggest thing they've worked on yet, they probably did get carried away and make promises they can't keep. I've been there. When realism fades to excitement and enthusiasm, words are said and promises made that often can't be kept. It's not too much to ask of the fans to understand and cut them some slack. Thirdly, if Rocket made any cash at all from DayZ, I'd be surprised. Maybe donations or contributions but there was never a payment system put in place, so any cash he made from this was purely down to fans contributing. This is also the budget he has to develop this game. He hasn't released any titles prior to this and make no mistake, this is a HUGE learning experience for him and his crew too. I think rather than jump all over him for not satisfying us all NOW, we should rather embrace the fact that this is a small crew lead by a developer that is caught like a rabbit in some headlights and wish them all the best in developing what we all hope will be a smooth, polished experience once it is released, rather than rush everything and release a paid for beta (call of duty anyone?). So yeah, no hard feelings dude, but I do think that there are some things you need to take into account before jumping all over him.

I find it very ironic that people complain about something they paid nothing for, not a penny, not a cent, not a unicorn tear. They have no obligation to play it, they are in no way dependent on it, it is 100% for pleasure purposes and yet you moan about it. I say we all write to Rocket and tell him to stop climbing his stupid rock, tell all the devs to stop wasting resources on this stupid standalone project and fix the stupid bugs in this stupid game that we didn't pay for or are in no way whatsoever obliged to play, and delete all the stupid hackers off the face of the earth or tell them at least to go to all the other thousands of stupid games that they plague so that stupid, ungrateful people can play this stupid mod like the stupid devs never intended them to. Silly.
