No idea if this bug has already been mentioned, but if you have a piece of clothing in your inventory and you doubleclick on an item on the ground (like a can of whatever) the game will put that item into the piece of clothing in your inventory. If you try to put a jacket with a can in it (for example) into your inventory, however, you can't. Not sure which of the two is intended and which isn't.

I really like this patch... to some degree. New interesting items and all... The new school building is very laggy though, and the new inventory system is hella confusing and doesn't always seem to work right.

Last time I spawned at the wrong place I jumped off a cliff, broke my legs, crawled around to find rags, craft a stone knife, got some sticks, crafted a splint, fixed my fracture, and went right back to the cliff to kill myself. Why? Because I spawned on the opposite side of the map from my friend.

So hard to find mosin/attachments, or is it me?
James Hawke replied to Leo Harrison's topic in New Player Discussion
Mosins don't seem particularly rare to me. I carry one and I've come across several others. I suppose you're just unlucky. -
Yup, makes sense. Though they need to fix the line of sight thing, too. If a zombie loses sight of you, it should follow you on the route where it saw you last, giving you the chance to get into a house, close the front door, and sneak out back. The way it is right now, if you do that, the zombie will just run around the house because he knows exactly where you are.

My friends shoot anyone who is geared ...
James Hawke replied to EvilTigerAce's topic in General Discussion
I only had one encounter since the release of 0.49 and that was only "friendly" because I had a gun on the guy. I told him to just pick a direction and go, I wouldn't follow. He went away. My gun was not loaded. xD -
Loot spawns - anyone else frustrated?
James Hawke replied to johnny0964 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I just went through the Vybor military base and came out with an AKM, a drum mag and two 30 round mags. Additionally I have a 30 round aftermarket mag and 40 rounds of spare ammo. Hell I don't even know what to do with that stuff... -
Loot spawns - anyone else frustrated?
James Hawke replied to johnny0964 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Haha... the first time I played this patch I was frustrated about not finding any proper clothes! Or food! xD I don't give a damn about the AKM. I was happy to find two Mosins for me and my friend. And plenty of ammo for other guns in case I find any. Assault rifles should be hard to come by. -
I find the Longhorn rather useless, especially at close range, as it has only one shot. You'd have to make it count. With the sawed-off Mosin at least you'd have five warning shots and one well-aimed toss :P

"Other Player Near" messages suggestion
James Hawke replied to Cliff_beefkake's topic in Suggestions
Sorry, I think that's a bad idea. "I think someone else is near"? That would tell snipers when someone's sneaking up on them. It would tell people in buildings when someone's passing by on the street, although they'd realistically have no way of knowing that. You could just as well call it "I think my spider-sense is tingling..." xD For the other one, what if someone has killed a lot of people solely in self defense? Would he appear untrustworthy to you? And how can you tell from the looks of a person that he has killed people? Doesn't make much sense realistically. -
New NE airstrip civilian Terminal. Bye ATC tower?
James Hawke replied to chompster's topic in General Discussion
I like this. The map is way too militarised already. -
This might help. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/182917-battleye-solution-for-failed-to-update-kicks/

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
James Hawke replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
It usually works, but not always. I had a zombie on my tail yesterday, ran into a house and closed both entrances. The zombie stood outside first, but suddenly he stood behind me, which was unfortunate... -
I had a problem today due to which me and my friend had to stop playing for now. So I died, and then he died... nothing too bad. But then we tried to respawn. We couldn't. Well I could, I somehow got past the problem, but my friend didn't. So what happened? We were dead, clicking restart. After the 30 second timer, we would get the screen message "Please wait..." for about a second, before the screen would just go back to "You're dead" again. That would happen several times in a row. After I actually managed to respawn, I think I know why it might have happened - Somehow all respawns suddenly were in Vybor (you know, where you spawn stark naked). I believe that you would die if you'd spawn exactly where another bambi was already standing. Which was pretty much always. So die, wait, die again, rinse and repeat. It's pretty annoying. Needs a fix, that one.

For supporting the development of the game and testing it while it's being developed.

Hm... let me add to that: Crowbar - Forget it Pipe wrench - Don't even bother
-
Yep... my friend and I had a little encounter with two zombies in Kamyshovo last night. We didn't have any melee weapons yet so we had to punch them to death. It took forever... also took me about an hour to finally see some colours again :-/
-
I just played for... about one and a half hour, for the first time after downloading the patch... Spawned north of Novo. I found it very hard to find proper clothing - or anything of use at all, for that matter. I couldn't find a proper melee weapon, but I could find about two dozen crowbars - I tried one and discarded it after I tried to hit a wall four times and couldn't hit it twice (tell me, how the hell do I miss a wall I'm close enough to I could lick it?). Hitting a moving zombie has become even more of a hassle than in the last patch, but at least I seem to be able to hit them when I hold still and let them hit me... I was actually amazed when I managed to get healthy after about an hour of pretty fruitless looting. The buildings have become a bit confusing. Usually I could tell which buildings always had open doors and which buildings always had closed doors, but now it's all different... Other than being "Cold" just once, I've had no problems with the temperature mechanic. A hoodie seems to be a bit too cold, and after putting on a wool coat I got no more messages other than the very occasional "I am slowly warming up". Also a little bug I managed to reproduce thrice: Opening a can of food with the M91 Bayonet will leave a duplicate of said can in the item slot you got it from. You can not interact with this duplicate. It seems to disappear when you pick up another can. Another thing that bothers me: You can't scroll through your inventory while dragging an item. Was it always like this?

No one want to play because of the reset...
James Hawke replied to kircheschm's topic in General Discussion
I'm playing nearly everyday with my buddy. We don't care much that it's all for nought because we're used to dying ^^ -
GREEN MOUNTAIN PRANK GONE WRONG...THREE TIMES
James Hawke replied to Toperek1990 (DayZ)'s topic in Gallery
Lmao, fail all the way xD -
Do you have a fracture? The status "My leg/arm is painful"? Do you have a stock on your gun? xD
-
Well don't randomly help people kill zombies. Especially if they are armed.

Starting to think I'm too nice of a player.
James Hawke replied to OptimumVision's topic in General Discussion
I'm definitely still too nice... Today I was on the way to the NWAF with my buddy and we got a bit lost. We found a little town, walking in, suddenly a quite well geared player stepped out on the street. Vest, camo clothes, AK whatever, what have you... My friend and me raised our guns, we had an M4 and AK ourselves. I started just talking to the guy, asked him if he's friendly, he said yes, and put his gun away. Well what else would he do, he wasn't exactly in a position to start a firefight and get away with it. I didn't want to shoot the guy, I had no particular reason to, even though he seemed to have some gear I could use. I asked him if he knew the name of the town we were in. His English was bad, as he said himself, and he said he didn't know what the name of the town was. (Later I'd find out it was Lopatino) I said bye, he said bye, he went on running down the road. Not being that naive, my friend and me didn't let him out of our view all the way down the road. We saw him go left, into the forest, then right, back over the street, following the tree line, all the way back up to Lopatino - Where he originally came from. He was clearly trying to get the drop on us while we were looting the town. As we weren't interested in a firefight, we went the opposite way. I should've shot the guy when I had the chance...
