Yesterday I thought that for the first time I could just ignore a zombie me and my friend had on us. We heard the screams but were wondering where the hell the zombie was. Looking through the window of a nearby house we saw that it was in there, in a room with the door closed. It couldn't get to us, so we just thought, screw it, and left. Well no... We went maybe 30 meters and suddenly it was behind us. *slow clap* The Houdini of zombies...

I only had the M4 once and I didn't like it. Shot it empty and then threw it away on Skalisty Island. Found the AK yesterday and left it there... I keep wondering what the hell I need an assault rifle for...

Police stations. If they haven't been looted already, more often than not you'll find something useful there.

I have one currently and I'm pretty sure I got it after the patch. Can't find more ammo though, I'm down to 12 rounds or so. The place I can most frequently find the Magnum is the single room on the third floor of school buildings.

Nope. Not more zombies until they are working as intended, thank you very much... About melee in 0.47: Just try this. Take an axe, or, you know, just a big stick, go outside and look for a tree. Stand about half a meter away from it. Now swing at the tree. Can you miss the tree? This is what happens with zombies currently. I'm not sure how that's physically possible.

I usually don't suicide for better spawnpoints. When I spawn and get attacked by three zombies though, who it takes ages to kill with your bare hands and who will ruin what little you have and probably bleed you out by the time you're done with them, I will suicide and try again. And then I just start looting the nearest locations - No need to be careful, I don't have anything to lose. After that I usually go further inland, using the dayzdb map to find my way, and get gradually more cautious while looting. I'm usually aiming for police stations, very rarely for airfields or military bases.

I don't think I'd kill someone over an item, unless it's the other guy who wants to kill me over it. Everything I need I can find. I don't need an SMG or an Assault rifle. I'm fine with my Mosin and my Magnum. I have a friend I'm running with who likes to kill on sight. Oddly enough though, he has the habit of kicking the bucket in the first second of combat... so... he's not much of a threat really xD

I actually think for an Alpha the map is quite well balanced. You have Novodmitrovsk in the north, NEAF, Berezino to the east, Elektro, Balota and Cherno to the south, two or three (?) military compounds in the west, plus the NWAF - And of course the few 'normal' cities in the middle of the map. Where the players wanna end up is really their own prerogative. I've had times where I could freely run across NEAF and NWAF on a server with 30 players and nobody gave a flying toss. It's a lottery really.

I really can't find a reason to use the Sporter... as most of you say, it's basically a pea shooter. Plus, I have only ever once in ... let me look... 81 hours of DayZ found a magazine for that thing. And I have never seen a magazine for an Amphibia. That's how useful .22 weapons are to me. I'd have more luck tossing them at the enemy.

Is there any good reason to be this painstakingly accurate with a fire axe? I mean, seriously, can you realistically MISS a target with a fire axe if you're aiming at its chest from about half a meter away? Honestly, I don't think so. My friend had no chance against the zombies with his splitting axe today. Partly because of his relatively high ping (which was no issue before), partly because it just doesn't work right anymore. I had problems with my fire axe too. In the end we both just resorted to wasting ammo on zombies because getting frustrated with the melee didn't sit right with us.

I don't think it's particularly unusual to find multiple M4 rifles in a crashed helicopter. Maybe there was a group of soldiers in there, all similarly geared (carrying the same rifle). Finding all of them in pristine condition though, considering you found them in a helicopter wreck, might be a bit of a stretch.

I started playing hardcore for only one reason - So people can't see me over/through walls and around corners and generally have a harder time seeing me from places where I can't see them if I look in their direction. It also makes me a bit paranoid though because I can't see over walls or around corners either. But it's better that way.

Been in Novo just two hours ago or so... with three friends. As we approached the police station we saw it flashing and before we knew it, it lit up like a christmas tree. It was night. Our thought was that some numbnut just lit his fireplace in a police station in the biggest city on the map. So we surrounded the place and waited for a bit. After a while, two of us went in. Well damn, it was a flare burning in there. Proceeding to go through town, aiming for the residential tower, we saw another flare lighting up on the street - and then another somewhere else. We were sure there was someone else in town with us but DAMN we couldn't find him! It WAS night after all... After the third flare we never saw a sign of whoever that was again, despite several open doors right on the plaza and more to the west... When we went to the hospital, we saw that the police station was still glowing through the night, one hour later... :/ That was really weird...
