Burgess Server is a relatively new server (just a few weeks old) that was made because we were sick of server admins kicking and banning players that kill them as well as doing other ridiculous things with their powers. Our server IP is 50.97.49.68 Port 3187 Or Simply search for Burgess We host from Washington DC giving great connection to most of the east coast and the mid west! Our server is pretty laid back, we don't care if you kill the bambies or whatever, but we do have a few rules: - All standard etiquette applies (No hacking etc.) - Please don't use voice on the side channel. (Emergencies aside, keep it to text) - Combat logging against players will be punished if caught. (Please report players doing this to an Admin/Mod) - Using the M107 for PVP is forbidden until it is fixed. (It will be deleted from your inventory if you do) Our server admin focuses on trying to offer a somewhat unique DayZ experience by incorporating a variety of modifications such as: - HALO Jumping from Air Vehicles - Fast Roping - Custom Toggle-able Debug (assign a key to custom action #19 to use) - Custom Auto Refuel - Custom Crash Site System - Enhanced Study Body - Customized Self Bloodbag (Can't use in combat, 60 second usage, 15 minute recast) - Advanced Kill Messages (that don't reveal the killer's name!) - Custom Care Packages - Street Lights -Full Moon Nights -Additional Barracks (Check NE Airfield!) -Custom Skins for recognized factions -Custom loot tables (including SCARs, M8s, more L85s, and several others) Loot Tables found here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/132885-burgess-server-chernarus-1761-no-admin-abuse-extra-barracks-more-vehicles-auto-refuel-more-crash-sites-street-lights-and-more/page__st__20#entry1353970 We are considering hosting server events such as PVP deathmatches, possibly with in game rewards to the winner/winning team, but any news on that will be released when the server grows to a respectable enough size to host such events.   2. Due to the server being dead after 1.7.7 I've decided to discontinue my association with it. I don't think mander will continue without me so it'll probably be shut down in 3 days. We may host again when the standalone comes out, assuming it doesn't blow donkey cock like I'm sure it will. If we decide to I'll post about it here and send out some messages on skype. If you guys find a good server to play on you should hit Mander and I up, we'd like to keep playing with you all.
  3. Who is responsible for this? As a side note: I've got custom loot tables working so there should be more antibiotics to go around, I'll follow up with more loot tables later. PS. Rank 816 guys? Come on now that's like 200 ranks in a week. Edit because I don't like to overbump my own thread: Found a way to lower infection rate and all around clean up mess. Great news! They released 1.7.7.1 which means now we get to wait for .st to update the server again, then I get to do more work :D On the bright side they decided that banning SUVs was a full retard move (not that every ban they made wasn't) and will be readding them. Under a different ID of course so nobody will get their SUVs back and all the items you stored in them will still be gone!

I've found that the majority of the good features that were added with 1.7.7 (Read: combining mags) could probably be added to 1.7.6.1 with a little bit of work, which raises the question of how to progress in the future. I also recently contact dayz.st support and asked them if it was possible to revert the server to 1.7.6.1, to which they replied that it was not possible at this time. Here's how I see things: I personally am not a fan of what 1.7.7 did and I think it ruins what made our server special, and with that being said I only see a few possible reactions. A. Stiff it out with 1.7.7 and try to find beauty in an overwhelmingly negative space (and perhaps hope that ST supports 1.7.6.1 in the future) B. Switch to a different provider that would allow 1.7.6.1 at the cost of a complete database reset and a new IP address C. Start using Rmod to allow all the banned weapons/vehicles again, at the cost of pretty much cutting off most new players D. Call it quits and shut the server down I'd like to hear what the rest of the community has to say on the matter, because it seems the majority of people have already spoken their opinion when they jumped ship. (Note how we dropped like 100 server ranks in a couple of days)
  5. Seems .st is having another problem with their servers causing ours to be down, I'm sure they'll give a report on how they are being DDOSed or something soon enough... I should be home later this evening, so I'll probably get an update pushed with loot tables tonight. I'm not sure what guns aren't banned from dayz now, so expect loot tables to be updated a few times over the next few days.

Added antibiotics to the starting loadout to help combat the ridiculous infection rate zombies now and the ridiculous drop rate antibiotics have, I'm away from home for the weekend so I don't know how much work I'll be getting done on the server over the next couple of days. Updates left to add; -Recustomizing loot tables (Might take a while because I have to go about it a different way now) -Custom skins -Probably something else? Known issues; -Study body flags name as <null> -Kill messages not working -Tag as friendly -Number of days on debug -Switching skins while in tent/vehicle (rocket's fault I'm pretty sure) -Some old tents won't save to the DB reseting their inventory every server restart (I'm told this is a common issue with private hive servers on 1.7.7) -???
  7. If dayz stays the same as it is now, it is horrible. Funfact; not only did the as50 get dayz banned, but so did all of the m8s, the SCARs, the L85s, and various other items such as the m32
  8. I've been told that dayz.st is pushing 1.7.7 out to their servers sometime later today... I won't be available after about 7pm so I'm not sure what will get pushed on the server tonight. As for the mods our server uses; I'll probably try to get everything up and running tomorrow night, which means I'll probably need to do a massive amount of restarts and I'll need people on helping me test things as they get pushed. P.S.. I've heard battleye has been a little bit kick happy, sorry for the issues its going to cause the next day or two, bitch about it on here or to my skype account (ravefighter666) so I know what I'll have to work on.

  12. Updated the OP with the addition of custom skins for recognized factions. I will also be working on a tag as group system.

We had a billing issue with dayz.st that caused them to temporarily close our server this morning, we got it all sorted out and everything in the database has been restored to a backup from last night. However we could not get our old server IP and Port back so now our server is located at 50.97.49.68:3187. All of your vehicles,tents,equipment,ect. should remain how it was when you last played but if it wasn't then we will gladly replace anything that has gone missing. PS if you are reading this try to get the message out to everybody you know that plays/played on our server.

    self blooding

    A lot of the arguments against self blood bag in this thread can easily be fixed by changing how the bag functions slightly. For instance on my server (which has self bloodbag) I have it set with the following rules -Can't be used in combat -Takes a minute to use -15 minutes before another can be used -Only restores 6k blood -High rate of infection -No humanity for self bloodbag Using these rules my playerbase seems to think it's well balanced because having a somebody blood bag you is clearly better, but it allows lonewolf players to have a way to boost their blood without killing a dozen animals.
