How do I change the time of Day on a public Hive server? Changing System clock doesnt work. After 3 minutes its overridden by something from the Hive?

and if they black list our server we will go back to private hive as well. no big deal. Take a look at the servers online now. nearly all are private hives simply because the hacking is out of control. We've found a way to make it a public hive which anyone is able to join as long as they go through the hoops.

There's a group on Glovine Server (Filter for AU4) who play "alot" good bunch of guys allways willing to help out new guys and give spare gear away. The server is passworded to minimise the risk of hackers. to get the password you MUST join Glovine Gaming communitoes teamspeak (ts.GloGaming.com.au:9995) and someone will give you the password as well as some of the basic rules. btw, since weve passworded it and made the teamspeak rule, not one instance of hacking.

you cant hack public servers either but people do. To the point where its pointless trying to run one unpassworded.

Good news !! Glovine server is up and running. To join all you need do is join our Teamspeak (ts.GloGaming.com.au:9995) look for another player in game to retrieve the password and a quick briefing on our rules. Passwording it has stopped hackers joining and the database is stored on the public hive. So come on over and join the fun without the grief.

There's a very easy way to fix the problem but it requires someone actually "being bothered to" dum de dum..

Hi all, Over the Christmas break at least the AU4 Glovine server will be passworded for the benifit of all. To retrieve the password and play on this server, all you need do is join our teamspeak server "ts.GloGaming.com.au:9995" and request the password from another player already in teamspeak. that player will also explain our rules which include that the same name for both teamspeak and in game must be used and you must be on and using our teamspeak at all times (unmuted). Please be aware that on our server third person is disabled. We are a friendly bunch and there's almost allways an admin at hand if he's needed. Glovine is a great community with awesome servers and unlimited bandwdth as well as high end servers. You wont be disappointed.

I survived around 4 months on the Au4 Expert server with almost 1700 zombie kills and, I estimate 40+ bandit kills until one of my buddies accidentally ran me over in his Landie lol

Ok, Ive pulled apart every pbo and tried every config I thought possible but I cant seem to change the default view distance of 1000m in the Bliss Dayz Private hive settings. If I need to create a new or different @Dayz mod folder folder that needs to be independently downloaded, Im more than happy to do that and have a big enough following for that not to be a problem but could someoene please show me where the view distance for dayz is stored so I can change it to something a bit more practical like 10,000 meters ta

Let me know when you actually know wtf you are talking about. The view distance set in the relevant ArmA2OAProfile file is overridden by a setting, presumably in the dayz addon. there is even a default 1600m setting in the dayz_1.chernarus mission file but once again it is overidden by another.

I can only find Fog in the "DynamicWeatherEffects" nothing anywhere about viewdistance :-(

Anyone who wants to run less than that distance just needs to pull down their own view distance manually. The "Balance for all players" is imo a lame excuse for such limited visibility. Some of us work very hard to to buy decent machines that can handle more realistic settings and should be allowed to do so. I did look there, I'll take another look now.

People on our server are complaining of being teleported 100 meters in the air if they cross the west border of the map? Does anyone else know of this?

The lack of feedback and not dealing with issues,including not replying to server admins has, in the long run been a good thing in my opinion. It has motivated people to make their own hives and branch out with new ideas and improve the Hive concept. For that I thank the Dayz team.

Our server AU4 Glovine wont show a ping time in the Server list. Its running fine and typical connection is at around 30 ms. Its not behind a firewall. anyone know why this might be?
