    Female character is extremely SLOW.

EDIT If you are experiencing this movement speed bug, try playing in 3rd person view. We just discovered last night that my friend can sprint normally while in 3rd person, but when in 1st person he has the bug. If you are having this bug please test with 3rd person and report your results. EDIT This is not just happening with the female skin. A friend of mine has experienced this bug for about a month now (male skin). It has persisted through character deaths and even persists through a full game re-install. We have tested this and made sure we were both in the fully upright position and sprinting. I estimate he sprints all out at about 60% of my sprint speed maybe less. If I crouch run and he sprints all out, I would estimate that he is still at least 20% slower than me. If we both sprint for 40 or 50 seconds he becomes a speck off in the distance behind me. The only way we can really travel together is for me to crouch run while he does a full sprint. Even then I can still outrun him while I'm crouch running. One other strange detail is that his character animation appears to be doing that goofy "speed walking" thing that some people do for exercise. Looks very strange to watch. I've searched Arma2 forums for any mention of this type of bug and can find no mention of it. There is another thread in General about this issue where several other people also reported this problem, some had high spec PC's and several did not. It would seem that PC spec may possibly be related but in at least some cases high spec PC users have also reported experiencing this bug. The only way I can think of to test this "system spec" theory would be to under clock the processor and compare the time it takes to run a specific distance (such as running wall to wall between two specific buildings etc.) with both high and low processor clocks. The same testing could also be done using high/low graphic clocks. One thing that gives me reason to discount the "PC spec" theory is that there are thousands of people running this game on low spec PC's (possibly even tens of thousands), yet only a very small number of people are having this issue. If this bug was spec related I'd expect to see hundreds of bug reports of this type, both here and in the regular Arma2 forums. Quite a serious problem for some people as it takes them roughly twice as long to run to distant areas on the map as the rest of us.

Some Players Speed Slower Than Others?

A friend of mine is having this problem as well. Similar to what another person posted above, if I crouch run and he sprints all out, I can still outpace him. If we both sprint at full speed I can outpace him by about 100 meters in around 20 or so seconds. Another thing I've noticed is that his character looks like it's doing that goofy speedwalking thing when he sprints. He tells me that the moment he starts to sprint everything seems fine, but after a few moments of running it seems like his character gets winded and slows to a snails pace. Really strange bug here. It sucks, because people who are experiencing this are at a huge disadvantage compared to the rest of us. Can you imagine how long it takes to get to the northern part of the map when you run at 40% the speed of everyone else? This problem persists through game installs and new character spawns.

    FEEDBACK: Humanity - heartbeart.

Ok, riddle me this: Myself and a buddy FINALLY managed to get together and go inland last night. We heard a few shots in the distance and saw a player who was a bit below us go round the edge of the mountain we were on but he was making a beeline away from us and I doubted that he could have even seen us. We continued around the knoll just to make sure he didnt double back. Everything seemed well so we camped out on the side of the village below for a bit to survey and decide if it was worth looting or not. Well, I just happened to look to our flank and saw this same player, about 75 yards away, crouch walk between two trees and drop prone, he had a scoped rifle and was pointing directly at us. I immediately told my buddy to get down and fired two shots. The first hit the tree beside him, the second took him out. I was given a murder so I assume that he was not a bandit. This was percieved by me as a hostile action on his part, he had correctly assumed our destination and doubled back on us in a perfect ambush position. It was sheer luck on my part that I even noticed him take his position. As far as my thoughts ran at the moment it was kill or be killed. OK here is my question for you. Having killed a non-bandit (who was VERY likely setting up an ambush on our position) I now have increased my heartbeat. How is this any different from a bandit skin? Sure it's more subtle, but as I understand it, the bandit skin was removed because it could be given even when in self defense. Well, now I am well on my way to having a heartbeat, same as I would have been well on my way to having a bandit skin with the previous mechanic. How is this new heartbeat mechanic any different with respect to having the game label a self defense killing as a murder? It seems to me it is exactly the same mechanic, in a different wrapping. Thoughts?

    justify your actions

You really seem to have your wires crossed up Spawn. What Rocket intended was an experiment where the outcome going into it was totally unknown. How WOULD people react in a situation like DayZ? He has spoken at length that he does not want the game to punish any playstyle or even to suggest a moral right and wrong. He does not want the game to cast any judgment on how a person chooses to play (and this is a large part of the reason why he removed bandit skins' date=' because he wanted players to retain some measure of ambiguity). However, there are mechanics being developed which may offer clues to players as to the kind of person they are dealing with (the heartbeat system has been mentioned by Rocket as a possible option). Might I suggest you spend some time reading some of the interviews Rocket has given (there are MANY), and perhaps you will realize how sorely misinformed you are. Here is just one example:: I'm sure you will continue to believe what you want to believe but the fact is, PVP is an intentional (and extremely important) part of the game. The fact that you don't like it only suggests that this may not be your type of game at all. I've heard that FarmVille is quite popular, perhaps you should give it a try...

READ: Lets get these Lighthouses up and running

Actually, the mechanics of electricity already exist in arma 2. At some point in the future they are planning to use those mechanics in some way intrinsic to gameplay. As it stands they only need to enable this in a patch and then we just add some gas to a generator and....hello lights. Of course someone else is bound to come along and break things... http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/06/22/day-z-arma-3-interview-on-left-4-dead-skyrim-player-emotion-and-in-game-disease/

    Zombie Leg Deterioration

Hey, I know! How about once their legs deteriorate and fall off, they morph into giant chicken legs and then we can eat them to replenish our lost blood? Instead of having to hunt for food we can just get zombies to chase us for awhile and then eat their missing legs. Maybe a random chance for the leg to turn into a rare military weapon (with ammo) would be cool as well. (sorry its late and I couldnt help myself, since you asked I think this is a really terrible idea, learn how to survive better ;)

    Have Everyone Spawn in Cherno...

Jesus. No. Of all the possible places I could spawn, Cherno is extremely low on the list.

    Escape from Chernarus

Interesting idea. I'll give you props for coming up with it....but the dev has described this mod as an "anti-game' (and I'll be honest here and say I'm not even sure what the hell that means) but I would imagine that an anti-game would have absolutely nothing to do with gaining points on a leaderboard and winning.

    Blood etc

Well let me turn that around on you RoboLord. 90% of players cant be bothered to play the game the way it was intended (not the way I want it, but the way Rocket intended). Rather than do it the hard way, they (and you) want it easy. In fact easy is even too hard for them (and you). YOU want blood to fall from the sky directly into your veins with ABSOLUTELY ZERO EFFORT. You say yourself you would have blood regenerate while we are crawling around OR EVEN AFK! What kind of hardcore survival game are you suggesting where a player can fucking go AFK for 7 hours and be taken from the brink of death to good as new? Are you joking? It's a fucking joke what you are suggesting. Take some time and read about what the dev himself wants us to experience. He wants a brutal and unforgiving experience and that is what he has given us no? Do you honestly think he is going to suddenly do an about face and let us regenerate our lost blood from the heavens while we are A F Fucking K? With absolutely zero effort? The camp I made was not a "luxury". It was a solo effort that took weeks of hard work (meaning lots of blood, sweat, death and tears). Every single player in this game can have that. The problem is that your "90%" of players can't be bothered to go out and earn it. The hard way, not the fall out of the sky and into the palm of your hand way. You are fucking mad bro. And in case you didn't notice, so am I.

New System - Taking dump and fishing

Fishing just makes me think of all the cheesy MMO's out there but whatever. Shitting in the woods? Are you shitting me? It's just ridiculous, people are taking this whole "realism" thing way too far...

    never again...

    Wise choice.
  12. SystemiK

    Fucking annoying.

I reckon this may be a part of trying to fix the server hoppers who try to spawn in behind others. Guess there is still some work needed to iron this out.
  13. I like the current system just fine. However, spawning with a Makarov and no clips is a bad idea, it's only going to get new spawns killed more often because other players will feel threatened (even though no threat actually exists).

    Vehicles, Loot, Ground

Items stored in tents and vehicles (as well as vehicles themselves) are very bugged at the moment. Don't store anything vital for the time being.
  15. It's a balance issue that is being worked out. Be patient.
  16. I've been killed through walls with bullets. Unshure is this is a feature or a bug....

where is my pistol and difficulty

Difficulty settings mainly include crosshair on/off, 3rd person view on/off, and nametags on/off. There is also map markers and your map location settings but not sure which settings include or disable those. What makes it confusing is that you can have a regular server with any combination of the above settings so it kind of makes the Regular/Veteran designation useless. It all comes down to the individual settings the server admin chooses.
  18. In my case, the game folders are on the D: drive, but the folders required are found in MY DOCS on the C: drive, could this be an issue?

    How to Climb Deer Huts

Interesting. maybe I had TWO broken legs cause I could not climb nor even stand up to bandage, I ended up bleeding out. Bug maybe?

    Party indicators

I'm generally against most of the party suggestions that keep coming up (just makes it easier for people to form zergs) but this seems like a pretty good idea.

Need help alot of mess ups.

Keep in mind that using the Arma 2 free edition will only give you lower res textures. Any of the other options are better if you care at all about the video quality.
