Just out ouf curiosity, which is the default key for switching between auto/burst/single shot? I looked through the control settings in game and couldnt find it.
-
My understanding is that this is a problem with how the mod interacts with the Arma2 engine. Based on a couple of things Rocket mentioned previously, I'm not sure it will ever be fixed.

Yup. Same happened to me on the roof of ROG castle. Logged out prone on the roof. Next log in spawned me mid-air. It did not end well. My buddy who also logged in at the same location/time as me, also had a strange bug. I'd told him to get downstairs and loot my gear. It was pitch black out and when he threw chemlights/flares he could hear the flares but they would not light the area. He threw all he had but none of them gave off any light. while trying to crawl down the stairs in the dark he fell and was killed as well. Have any others had this "no light emitting from chemlights/flares" bug?

Female character is extremely SLOW.

My experience has been that you always run faster with a rifle equiped than a pistol. I think some people are just confused about which is primary and which is secondary. -
Is the heartbeat humanity sound still in game?
SystemiK replied to infekt3d's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think Rocket said the heartbeat mechanic was more for the cases of extreme banditry. I would imagine if you keep killing survivors you will eventually start to notice it. It should be faint within a few more kills and grow more noticable from there. Not really a big fan of the idea myself, but I have no better ideas... -
Spawn to friends location (HOW IT SHOULD BE DONE!)
SystemiK replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Clans are already the most powerful groups in the game, creating a mechanic designed with the single purpose of keeping them grouped only shifts the balance further in their direction. The current design is a pain in the ass, to be sure. But this is not the solution. -
This is the percentage of murders committed in the mod since stat tracking has been implemented. Thats only 6.2 murders for every 100 deaths. Yet in post after post people are screaming from the rooftops that bandits are ruining the game, that they need to be penalized, nerfed, hell in one thread someone actually suggested that bandits should be kicked and banned from the game. It's getting quite ridiculous. With all the noise people are making around here you would think that bandits are responsible for 90% of the player deaths. 6.2% murders (and it really makes you wonder how many of those 6.2% were actually committed by survivors doesn't it?) Here is what Rocket had to say recently when asked about the subject in an interview: 6.2% sure seems reasonable to me.....so what exactly is all this noise about anyway?

I remember when this game was an idea on Reddit!

What New Players Do Not Realize... Maybe a little help for them :)
SystemiK replied to djkling's topic in New Player Discussion
One of the things that I think keeps me coming back to DayZ it the severity which it places on our actions. It does not matter HOW long I have survived, it only takes one single mistake to spiral into a shit storm. You can always be one single mistake away from death, one moment of not paying attention and it can all be over. Sure keeps things interesting. -
Game just feels lonely without side chat.
SystemiK replied to kurtino's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's absolutely going to change. If community is what you want to see in the game you should really go read every interview with Rocket that you can get your hands on. I think you'll be very excited to hear some of the ideas he would like to add. -
Solution for server hoping to gain position.
SystemiK replied to PintOfBass's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I believe Rocket said awhile back that he already has a simple solution for this but that it has not been implemented yet because it will add more server overhead than he wants. I'm sure we will get to see it in action one of these days... -

Once more into the fray... (Story)

Haha!!! For some reason I figured you were going to be one of those roleplaying guys like Docktor Cherno (or whatever he calls himself) or the guy who was running a helicopter taxi service for awhile. I thought you were going to offer catering services to all those hungry bandits camped out on the roofs in cherno. Hmmmmnnn.........
-
You know what the real problem here is? Some guy runs into a building and scares the hell out of some other guy. And the other guy shoots him. Neither guy was a bandit, but the dead guy is likely to rage on the forums about how a bandit ruined his day. This is how it goes down much of the time...

How to make DayZ look like this?
SystemiK replied to despair (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Looks to me like a combination of a foggy day in the game and gamma/brightness set way too high. Looks terrible. -
This is what I have a problem with Robo (and what pissed me off). You have suggested that instead of earning my blood back that I get a shiny new mechanic where I can simply AFK and come back in the morning with full blood. Sorry, I won't accept this as a viable option for the game. The current system is not ideal but certainly it's a better option than regenerating blood while you are at work or sleeping. I could live with your mechanic if I HAD to, but absolutely no way in hell should a player regenerate health while out of game.

Female character is extremely SLOW.
SystemiK replied to Kimiko (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Dallas, we are talking about people who have been playing the mod since release nearly 2 months ago. These people who have had this problem have NEVER been able to keep up with others. This is not an example of someone accidentally clicking aim or forgetting that they are crouch running. it's a bug. -
Why are so many people dead set on penalizing others for the way they choose to play this game? Both bandit and survivor styles of play are viable. As quoted above, Rocket is saying that "we need to support the people who want to be bandit raiders and get a bandit party and go around and kill people" and I don't think it's that much of a problem [bandits] - if you look at the numbers, it's not really a problem. The problem is obviously a few people had some bad experiences maybe they were unlucky and they had them in the long string and then they post on the forums." The dev himself is saying the game needs to support bandit gameplay. What more do you need to hear. Yet this fever pitch of people whining that bandits need to be crucified and nerfed (and hell, as one person here in the thread put it "kicked and banned from the game"). Get over it people bandits are here to stay.

Female character is extremely SLOW.
SystemiK replied to Kimiko (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Yes this is true, it is possible to run faster with a rifle than a pistol out. However, most people reporting this bug seem to have considered the many variables (ie, crouch/upright, walk/sprint, weapon/no weapon, primary/secondary) when comparing the movement speed of two players. I believe this is a rare bug, not a failure of players to account for the various movement conditions present in the game engine. -
Zombies Don't Break Legs. They Bruise.
SystemiK replied to hawkygaming's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
How many times have you seen a zombie in a movie actually get their hands on a person and not severely fuck them up? Bruises? Seriously? Do you really wish to turn this game into an owie simulator? -
