I mean mod version (like 1.7.1.5 etc) make sure the server you are trying is running the same mod version you are. Other than that, i dont know.

You cannot do actions from the right side bar. Press G to open your bag and then right click on the item you want to use. Also, some actions can be accesed by rolling the mousewheel while you are looking at an item on the ground (you will see the actions pop up on the left side of the screen). Also, are you saying that you have no debug screen in the upper right corner? this sometimes happens to me if I join a server that is running an older version of the game.

I don't know what kind of game you are playing Deadbulky, but in the game I am playing some of the most amazing experiences happened when I had only a chance in hell at surviving. Crawling for 40 minutes through the woods to a town where I absolutely must find a knife and some matches so I can crawl back into the mountains to find a cow to eat which will help me to see better so I can hopefully make it to my tent and get some morophine. I've had many situations like that and for me at least, trying to survive when all odds are stacked against you IS the game. The rest is just fluff, while waiting for a do or die situation to arise. Thats the game some of us are playing. I really have no idea at all what game you are playing. I'm certainly not suggesting this, but if they removed the respawn option I would not miss it. In fact I've never even used it in the two months I've been playing the game.

The zig zagging is a limitation of the game engine / entities used to create them. It sucks as it is. We know this. They were cobbled together using a bit of "magic" and it's far from ideal how they work. Whether it makes sense or not is irrelevant considering that the current system is extremely limited in how it can be achieved, and what it can do. What you seem to be asking for is a simple nerf to a very limited and broken system, and what I am suggesting, is that the system will ultimately be completely re-written from scratch in a later build. It will probably take a few months time, maybe more. It seems like you are missing the bigger picture here by focusing on the smaller details.

You are right. Losing your gear when swimming is a "feature" of Arma. One of the last Arma 2 beta patches has made a change to this (can't remember if it was a server setting or if it is changed in the mission file).

It IS remotely possible. I've done it a hundred times. With the new LOS mechanic it's even much easier than before. I think you are just being a pussy about it, but that's just my own opinion.

Keep in mind also, that the zombies in DayZ mod were not created from scratch for the purpose of being zombies. As I understand it, the zombies are actually just a pig reskinned with a creepy skin and an AoE damage radius. I probably don't need to explain to anyone that BIS didnt put much AI into their pig entities, as all they do in the vanilla game is wander around in a field. People keep insisting that the zombies need to be changed (and they do and hopefully will) but that would be a massive ammount of work to accomplish and this is just a fledgeling mod. Given time, maybe we will get something better, but for now I think we are extremely limited with what can be done to zombie behavior. In fact I think rocket has pulled off a minor miracle to even get them working as well as he has...

I hated spawn with no weapons at first, but after getting used to it, I think it was a good choice for the mod. I vote NO.

ST_Evasive seems optional, but considering how wonky indoor movement is in Arma 2, ST_collision would seem to be mandatory for anyone who wishes their mod to feel smooth and fluid. These 'mods' are really not mods in the usual sense, they both involve only a change to a couple of settings in the .cfg file. The reason we need them implemented for us is that they require a setting in the server file to allow them. There is a downside to ST_Movement however, it means that the barrel of your gun may clip through walls at times (but this does NOT mean you can shoot through walls) just that someone on the other side of the wall may see the tip of the barrel protruding through the other side. The reason the gun does not shoot through the wall with this setting enabled is that the chamber of the gun remains behind the wall, so the bullet will still hit the wall if you fire. I believe this setting is also a variable, so the effect can be 'toned down' in order to keep things more realistic. I just cant stand having my gun barrel constantly hanging up on buildings etc. It will surprise me if they dont give this setting a try at some point during development, it can always be removed again if people are unhappy with it. However, looking at that video of ST_movement, I don't see how anyone would think the current value is acceptable. We need some compromise here...

I've heard this, and it seems like it does, but I have never seen it mentioned officially. Only way to tell for sure would be to sit still and time eating to flashing, and then time it again while sprinting. OK, so who's gonna volunteer for the timer test? -
Well there is always a small chance that the game isn't finished and that it will be something completely different by the time it is....just a thought.

Yes I had a server a week or so ago, I was walking through the hangars at Balota Airfield and my light would not illuminate the floor. The debris piles would light up but the floor and walls were pure blackness. Not even a flare would illuminate the blackness.
