See the link LRdM posted above. Seems to be an issue with Gamespy not returning the complete list of servers. This also seems to affect the Arma 2 server browser.

There was certainly a time when the DayZ community as a whole seemed to want a very challenging experience, however this current community has been greatly watered down by players who seem to want something else entirely.

Interesting. You go straight from "give us two characters" to "or else fix the bandit problem". I'm not yet conviced that there IS a bandit problem. The devs certainly don't seem to think there is... Just because the current experience is not to your liking does not inherently mean there is something wrong with it.

Interesting. This would explain why the Arma 2 server browser often shows a server that only me or my buddy can see (but not both of us). Thanks for posting that. I still stand by my opinion of the Six tools though....

If Rocket gets his way, there is going to be a single sharded server for all of DayZ (similar to EVE). There may be no such thing as a private server at that point. Not sure how this will play out but I'd much prefer that over the above option.

At some point it may occur to you that Six Launcher is not all that great a tool? Try DayZ Commander, it's much more reliable than Six and has some very nice features.

Six Launcher. <-- Seems to be your problem right there. Give DayZ Commander a try. I've seen dozens of reports of Six causing problems, not many people have had issues updating with DayZ Commander. In fact, the very first time I updated with Six, it borked my game. I simply installed DayZ Commander and ran the update, and it fixed what Six broke. Then again, as stated above, manual updates are the best way to do it.

The loot spawns are tied to the server time, so locking a certain time of day breaks quite a few things with regard to spawning. This system may be changed at some point in the future but for now, that's how the code is built.

General items dont disappear when placing them in a full tent, they will be in the grass around the tent. Weapons / gear items DO dissapear when placing them into a full tent. Not sure what causes the difference but that has always been my experience.

Uh....yeah.....sorry about that. I have a really hard time with leaving other peoples stuff in their tents. What's yours is mine, that's what I always say.... :P

That's all well and good. Knock yourself out and by all means do enjoy your "illusory feeling" of contribution. I guess I'm just more of a realist when it comes to situations like this. Take the highly fractured server base we now have. I count 17 versions of beta and 14 versions of DayZ code currently up and running. It would definitely be in the best interest of this alpha test for the devs to limit those down to the two or three latest versions of each and restrict all others, but again, they (for whatever reasons) have shown no interest in doing so. Again, it is what it is, and we really have no choice in the matter other than to deal with it. That's all I was trying to suggest.

Personally, I fucking love the vehicle hoarders. They find the vehicles. They repair the vehicles. They drive them all to one location. They fill them up with fuel and loot. I drive them away one by one. Fucking brilliant. I heart the hoarders and I'm willing to give them at least half of my beans (maybe more).

I'm gonna go ahead and say that if the dev team wanted something done about this then they would have already done something. I understand that the rules state no locked servers, but until there are some kind of repercussions coming down, you just need to deal with it. The dev's are the only people who can address this and for what ever reasons, they are choosing not to. It's their problem, I suggest chill out and wait for them to take action. Until then, it is what it is.

I've been very pleased with my Sapphire 6950 (running 6970 shaders / clocks). I was planning to use this in the interrim while waiting for 7xxx series to launch but I soon realized there was no need to upgrade just yet. Not sure if they have changed this since I purchased my card, but the one I bought has a dual Bios. With a simple flick of a switch it loads the 6970 bios with unlocked shaders. A friend and I have had this issue since back in May. He can often see servers which do not show up in my Arma server browser (its not a regional thing because we are in the same city using the same ISP). Usually if I wait a couple of minutes it will finally "pop in" to the list. Also have noticed that one of my regular servers does not ever show up in the Arma browser but I can always find it with the DayZ Commander browser. It's kind of a pain in the ass but I've stopped using the Arma browser entirely and now use DayZ Commander instead. I've been so much happier with DayZ Commander than that garbage Six Launcher / Updater.

Can we just agree that barbed wire is fucked all the way around and be done with it? We've tested it, it's been a joke from day one and now it's back to it's old ways of causing severe graphical issues. C'mon Rocket, you've said yourself that it was a test, we've tested it for 2 months now and it's still broken. Take it out (either permanently or temporarily until fixed).

Nothing beats playing at night time (when the moon is out). By far the best way to experience the game in my opinion.

Currently at 22 days solo (aside from one night where a friend and I from work made a NW airfield / devils castle run). It's not all that hard to survive solo, you just have to know the map well and make sound decisions. If you are not doing well solo, dont blame the game. Take a serious look at your tactics, choices etc, and try to figure out what YOU are doing wrong. It may be that you are trying to loot in all the wrong places. At the very least dont declare the game broken when you have only had three lives to learn from. You are the problem. Either fix that problem or don't, but whining about the game is not a solution.

I was originally planning to buy that map from BIS but they didnt include any details about the map size so I blew them off and made my own. we printed the same map you have off for two of my co-workers. Just curious, how big is the map they sent you and is it laminated?

Here is a thread I started, check it for a link to a map that is 17454 x 14626 (thats about 20 feet tall if printed at full size). I printed mine to around 5' x 4'-6" and it is stunning. I spent many days searching for a higher resolution map but could not find anything at all. One more thing, if you do print a map, I recommend having it laminated. This would allow you to use wet erase markers for map notes etc. It seems permanent until you wipe with a damp cloth and the ink just disappears. I would recommend downloading an app called DayZ Commander ( www.dayzcommander.com ) then check the versions tab where you can tell the app to update to latest version. If you have a Steam copy of the game you could also let Steam handle the update for you (it may have already done it automatically).
