I get this randomly (once every week or two) I'll normally get high 40's to 60 FPS (Vsync cap) on my usual servers but every once in awhile I will join one of them and immediately see 5 - 15. I just go to another server and I'll be back at normal. It seems like it may be server related, so I just stay away for awhile and assume a server reboot will take care of the problem.

Is there a certain way you need to log out to not lose all of your gear?
SystemiK replied to Lionheart012's topic in New Player Discussion
There is no way to know for SURE but a lot of the non-hive servers do not use the same naming convention which the Hive servers are required to use (so when you see a server named Mr Winkies Wanky World you know for sure it's non Hive) -

How to fix the spawn on the coast glitch...
SystemiK replied to xNeRo's topic in New Player Discussion
Guess it's time to start keeping some notes about which server versions we join vs. our own beta versions etc. Someone else just started a thread about possible arma 2 beta version conflicts between server / client which may be causing this. Definitely worth looking into. -

Sounds like a random bug. Escape / Abort is the normal way to log out and generally there are no problems with it. Edit: Good point Cindy, I didn't even think about the non-hive servers. -
Spawning on coast when switching servers? READ THIS
SystemiK replied to Obsolescence's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Well it's a hell of a lot better assumption than the people who seem to think that Alt-F4 is the cause (in spite of it happening to people who did not Alt-F4 out of the game and still spawned on the beach). You could easily be on to something here. I was not having this problem until updating to 95883, sorry though I dont recall for sure what my previous beta was. Currently running 1.7.2.4. -
I've got it! This is how item storage should work! I'm a genius!

How to fix the spawn on the coast glitch...
SystemiK replied to xNeRo's topic in New Player Discussion
I logged out last night normally, (esc /abort) north of NE airfield. I logged in today at kemenka. You theory that alt F4 is the cause of this is not completely sound. Alt-F4 may cause it for some people, but a normal log out netted me the same result. Something else has to be causing this, I'm not sure why so many people are assuming Alt-F4 is the sole cause. -
HELP!!! Everything saves, except my location on the map!
SystemiK replied to AudioZOMBIE15's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I disagree. This is also happening when closing the game with the abort function. You dont have to server hop or alt F4 to get this problem. -

It's happening to a lot of people as well, you are not alone in this. I am having it with patch 1.7.2.4 also, so it's not because of the 1.7.2.5 update as a lot of people seem to believe. With Rocket attending GamesCon this week, I reckon we will have to wait a bit before this problem is resolved... -

Just ordered a premium server a few moments ago. Questions. - Can I specify my preferred server settings before hand and have it set up that way on your end or is this something I will need to do from my end? (i.e. Veteran, 3rd on, CH off, Tags off) - Do you have an ETA for when you will be recieving your new instance ID's? Thanks. -
Tents are broken since ever. You'll get used to the quirks after awhile....

Weapons will not go inside tent / ammo limit
SystemiK replied to gatorontheloose's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Toolbelt items are also counted as "weapons" . So 8 weapons, a hatchet and a box of matches will fill the ten "weapon" slots. -
I don't know what others get out of hosting a server, but the reasons I am considering buying one are these: - So I can have a favored server which will not be canceled randomly in the night without warning (happened several times already). - So I can choose which DayZ Release / Arma 2 Beta version to run and when to update. (sick of waiting for my chosen servers to update before I can). - So I can have a regular server which I can guarantee to be up and running when I want to play (tired of logging in to play only to find that my home server is down). $40 - $60 / month ($20 - $30 shared) sounds like a hell of a deal to me if it takes care of the above three items, the only question remaining is whether or not all the associated drama that comes along with being an admin will be worth it.

Quality and Professional DayZ Hosting | Snaju LLC

Your banner ad says DayZ servers starting from $12.50 per month. The least expensive option available (40 slot / shared CPU) bills at $40.00 per month in the shopping cart. What gives? -
Halt all addition of new features until every possible bug is correctly patched.
SystemiK replied to tbird9412's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The problem I keep seeing here is that in the history of game development, only a very small handful of people have ever actually been allowed to play a game in it's alpha state (generally just the developers themselves ever get to see a game at this stage) so most people have no idea what to even expect of a game in alpha. What is even more confusing for a lot of people is the trend over the last many years of studios releasing a public "beta" test which is really not a test phase at all, it's actually just a public preview of a nearly finished game used to generate hype. So, many people have based their expectations of DayZ on experiences they had with other so called "beta" releases and they expect to have a similar experience with DayZ, when in fact, the level of access we have to the mod at this stage is nearly unprecedented. I can only think of a handful of other games which allowed the public at large access to the early alpha builds of the game, and people need to realize this when they are feeling pissed at DayZ for not living up to their expectations. The state of the game is perfectly normal for an alpha, and it will probably get worse before it gets better, this is to be expected. -
Just saw 2 Alice Packs in the same market earlier....

Now that it's going standalone there is no need. Aside from that, I believe I read a post a month or so ago from one of the ACE guys saying that they would not share the code with this mod (sorry if I'm mistaken, its been awhile..)

Smoke is best, flares are good, chemlights work. If you are really sadistic, chuck a flare at night off a building toward an unsuspecting person below and watch what happens....

Realism or "authenticity" is all well and good, but where do you suggest we draw the line between realism and game? Should we have to clip our toenails occasionally so that our socks last longer in order to keep from getting blisters and running slower? Should we have to brush our teeth often or risk dying from an abcessed and infected cavity? How about crotch rot? Running around in the same dirty underwear day after day is gonna cause some problems, should we add underwear and soap to make things more realistic?. I'll bet there are a lot of tics in a forrest area like Chernaurus, should we put them in as well? Giardia parasites in ponds from cow shit? Sunburn? Cancer? Guess we better have skin cancer if it's gonna be realistic eh? Oooooh.....how about eye infections or maybe a rare chance of glaucoma? All of these could be valid points for an authentic game but are still completely ridiculous. I think people are taking the 'realism' aspect a bit too far and at some point there would be no time for anything but working through your daily checklist of tasks to perform. PVP will no longer be a hot topic, everyone will be too busy checking for tics, looking for toothbrushes / nail clippers and sunscreen to worry about shooting anyone. It's not so much that your idea is bad or anything, but where do we draw the line? How much realism is enough?
