Same here, so far found 5 people in game, 1 i gave stuff too. the other 3 killed me on spot, and the last i killed myself. But there isnt much to do in game right now, so i think these people are just trying to enjoy it. Normally they'd be going after zombies. I still don't think you can ever really remove human nature from a game you're trying to make realistic, and killing eachother is a part of human nature.

I found a couple maps. At first i thought the map was glitched, since it was only part of the map. Turns out there are several maps that each display a section. No way to combine them at the moment either :( Cool idea though. I found my first map in a gas station.

^ So we all have to do without a private hive, so you can relive your childhood? kinda narcissistic. Why can't you just avoid the private hives? I agree that alot of the things you can do on a private hive kill the fun, but still should be able to have private and control. -

Why would it ruin any experience for you? As with the mod, you had the option to play public hive server. No one was forcing you to play private. I don't like pizza flavored ice cream, doesn't mean they gotta stop making it, i just personally wont eat it. -
It will be fixed. along with all the other bugs. Nice process that alpha and beta testing is. You were prewarned this shit was going to happen.

If you have your torch selected, just push f to turn it off and on. Push F to open doors and pick up things. I never had to scroll in the SA. You're doing it wrong. -
I downloaded the game about 8 hours ago, and have been playing it non stop since, which i am really enjoying. The thing i loved most about DayZ MOd was the hardcore realistic Survival feel. Something that the other games such as WarZ, Dead Linger, 7days, Rust, etc dont have. The new graphics are beautiful. The inventory system is amazing. Takes some figuring out how to do somethings, but its all pretty much self explainlity, such as what goes with what to do something (knife or can opener to open can, etc). The FPS for me has greatly improved from the mod. I get about 50+ FPS, sometimes drops to 30 in cities, but nothing as low as the mod, still very playable. I have my settings on all high. The whole crafting system is really cool too. I like being able to pretty much put my guns together. THE NEW ZOMBIES ARE PERFECT! I hope they stay this way, and don't go back to the way they were in the mod. Now they seem more realistically paced, arent crazily over powered, and don't seem to randomly come out of no where. They do seem to go through walls, whcih i hate, but thats nothing major. Really loving them. I was a bit annoyed because i made my way all the way to NWAF, and then wanted to goto NEAF. I thought i was going in the right direction, but some how ended up back down in Mogilevka. So I'm happy i found the compas. I eventually found a map, but its glitchy, and is half missing, alpha, so its cool. Lloving the new compas. I looked all over for a map, couldn't find one. finally found a compas which took me a little bit of time to figure out (again really its self explainlitory if you learn the system), and I LOVE IT. The feel is so realistitic. I havent encounted many bugs, only two i can think of: Zombies going through walls, and loot floating. nothing major, and i expectedthe loot floating from what Dean already warned us about. Good job so far guys!!!!! thanks for finally releasing it to us :D

I'd suggest finding a can of beans, one can of soda, and head north to where there isnt much population, i found there to be much more loot. I have no trouble finding loot. I've ran all the way to NWAF to Cherno, and back up to NEAF without any problem. I think your character will complain long before you ever die. Mine was pretty much going through menopause, and lived. edit: I'd stay away from those huge apartment complexes. I can't find anything in those. Stay with houses and the smaller buildings. -

There is tons of loot, just dont stay where alot of other people are. My character is maxxed as well. Plenty of ammo too. -

Okay changed some stuff up. Some people dont like 9 or so hours of dark, so now we're down to about an hour and a half. The way we have it set up, the server starts at 4pm server world time, so before that 6 hour period is up its dark for about 1 hour. Daytime again upon restart, then restart. This way people who like night time always have a couple of chances a day to experience it. -

Added some more features: Drink from all water sources - suchs as wells, ponds, ocean without a can. Just drink. But you do risk infection. Zombie Zapper - You can now build a zombie zapper and kill any zombie within a radius. Zombie lasts 3minutes, but it may be increased to 5 or so in the future. 3 seems a bit short. Old Tent Placing System - Now you should be able to place a tent in places as you could back in the olden good days. I haven't really tested this, but it should be just fine. Also removed the vehicles from AI Missions. No sense in cars being there when they wont last a server restart. I also increased vehicles on server. Our server's population is still kinda low, but increasing every day. Come play and stay :D -
maybe. i found this in server_cleanup.fsm the new one is item4[] = {"cleanup_dead",2,250,-300.000000,50.000000,-200.000000,100.000000,0.000000,"cleanup" \n "dead"}; and the old one is item4[]={"cleanup_dead",2,4346,-300.000000,50.000000,-200.000000,100.000000,0.000000,"cleanup" \n "dead"}; not sure what this all means, but the first numbers are hugely different. so im gonna apply the old and see if that helps lol edit didnt work. bodies still gone. im about done hosting dayz server. bug after bug after bug, and once it starts working good, they mess it up with another patch that breaks everything.

Ever since getting this update im having problems with bodies disappearing. not only players, but zombies, and npc's. :| anyone else?

Stop being a complicated weirdo. There is tons of code in DayZ, and someone just missed the heli crash loot. Their bad, get over it. Does anyone have an ETA of when the patch will be released? -

DayZ has alot of code, sometimes things such as this arent that major, and are over looked. The gun is banned, its' still in the loot table for crash sites (which you can edit and remove), or just count it as useless loot for now, such as cans. -

yes! the suv being gone caused me huge sadness. :P Also can the vehicle damage not being saved please be fixed? Vehicles get all their health back after each restart,a nd if they're completely destroyed they are respawned where they blew up, and not in their original spawning locations. it's really bad news if the helicopter or car blows up in water, because it keeps spawning there and reblowing up each server restart, same as heli in the sky. I'm not the only one experiencing this on our servers -

If anyone wants a nice new server to come join and play on, I welcome you to the new damnidunno DayZ server. IP: 199.217.115.199:2352 http://www.damnidunno.com We have custom bases in Kamenka, North West, and North East, and will be adding more soon. We have all the debris removed from the roads, so you can drive around unobstructed by non player road blocks. Features we plan on adding: Night time cycle but with full moon, so you can actually see, but for now it's 24/7 Daytime. Salvage - so you can strip parts from other vehicles and helis. Tow/lift - So you can tow your broken vehicles to safe areas where you can repair them. NO ADMIN ABUSE! Admins cannot spawn anything, no vehicles, no guns, nothing. We can TP To people to help, but if that is abused the Admin will be removed. Any other ideas and suggestions are welcomed.
