This game will fail long term if the PK problem isnt addressed
Eldo (DayZ) replied to Gadget (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I liked the humanity and bandit skins, even though I was a bandit. I felt like an outcast for my actions and lost some privileges for what I've done. I think the best thing to do is to take a community vote and see what we all say about the matter. All though it lost an element of realism it made punishment for murdering. -

A PvE server is the biggest joke I've heard all day, the suggestion is so poorly thought out it's laughable. Say I'm a bandit, I love killing, I waltz into a PvE server and just straight up walk around the NW airfield grabbing high powered sniper rifles, now I switch back to my favorite PvP server, and wreck some people in Chernogorsk. Now, that same weapon would be much harder to retrieve on a PvP server because of PvP. This game is not for PvE it's for PvP it's so blatantly I don't know how you don't realize this. Let me give you the equivalent of what you are doing with another game, it's like going into Call of Duty and saying, I want all the players removed and only have recruit npcs because this is too hard and this is the way I want it and all games should revolve around what I want to do. It's just so ignorant it's as laughable as your suggestion. It's a realistic zombie survival game, do you understand that that means I can do what I want? If i want to kill everyone I see I can, or I can be a friendly fool who gets killed every time they talk to someone and comes here and complains and then does what you are doing. This whole ordeal is so plain silly I can't tell if your trolling me. -
This has probably already been suggested, but I couldn't find a post for it, anyway here it goes. If you've ever had a vehicle you know the frustration of only keeping it for one day after losing it to someone aimlessly wandering the woods, a helicopter with a radar, or a hacker with an esp that shows all vehicles in the server. So, why not add keys? No one in a zombie post-apocalyptic world would leave the main supply of food, water, medicine, ammo, guns, and transport ripe for the taking. Now like most ideas, mine can be expanded and changed from the specifics that I'm about to mention, but here's what I started out thinking with. Keys that spawn in grocery stores, houses, bars, hotels, factories, and sheds. Any residential areas or any place where cars in real life would have been taken, so just about everywhere. But, these keys should not be easily found, they should be extremely rare and difficult to find if all cars use the same type of keys. Another possibility is keys made specifically for each car, it really depends what the community thinks would be better. Also, a set of keys I believe should come with the car, and a possibility is that you need a toolbox to get in a newly repaired car for the first time, as if you hot wired it or something. You should be able to keep the keys on your tool belt safe from the taking and they should go into the cars inventory while you drive. I also think that you should be able to lock your trunk, maybe some cars you wouldn't be able to like the V3S truck, just because the bed is completely exposed. So there we go, keys, give me any thoughts or ideas to expand this one, or even if you think this is a good suggestion, thanks!

Yeah you go ahead and waste your ammo
-
Good point, so obvious I never thought of that, hurdur...
-
My bad, searched keys into forums, didn't find anything.
-
Yeah thats true, its just a basic idea, and thats also a good idea.
-
Find and repair the car, then when it's stolen, you'll understand the frustration and annoyance, especially if you keep trying to get new cars.
-
Great idea, all for it, like Womb Raider said, it should be on the rarer side.

ghillie and camo suits affect zombies
Eldo (DayZ) replied to crazyshadowdami's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yes, I was considering suggesting this, ghillie should probably reduce it by two, and the camo by one. -
Lol, no it doesn't if I found a hunting rifle I wouldn't walk through the nearest town shooting zombies in close quarters, removing sniper rifles is the most absurd idea and one that will never be used, you knew that when you posted this, probably trolling?

Remove 'regular' difficulty server option or; "Regular" really means "Bandits"
Eldo (DayZ) replied to Rogan (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I adhere, but some people like the regular servers, I think name tags ruins this game, and while so many people attempt to make more realism by adding other things, but why not add realism by removing what's here. Name tags aren't realistic and should be removed. Also, your location on a map should not be visible on regular servers to, only if you have a GPS should that be available. -
Simple Deterance to Trigger happy CoD fans and "bandits"
Eldo (DayZ) replied to RedDedZed's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
So many people want to punish the bandits, why? Because you are frustrated they kill you? As Womb Raider said there will never be a deterrent to bandits, and there shouldn't be. Instead, a group should be more valuable and it is, if people fail to notice how much better a group is then solo than that's their own fault. I doubt many people in the real world would really be "friendly" not because they are evil but because they are scared for their own life, and yes they would feel guilty and feel evil, but you can't emulate that in a game, and if you emulate that in DayZ it will ruin it. -
Selectable Spawning made viable. [Fixes spawn-hopping, user friendly]
Eldo (DayZ) replied to ElemenoP's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
What are they going to do take your patrol pack? Maybe your super duper flashlight? Or highly rare painkillers? -

If they played "our own game" then would they really be any "better" than us? If you kill a bandit you're not a bandit. You're a hero. I've killed bandits, am I a hero just like you?

You might reconsider the type of friends that you keep as company, if indeed it was your "friend" that called. Either way you invited him to skype and he was your responsibility from that point forward. There is only one side of the story that matters and that is the truth. Before you came onto the forums and posted on my thread no one even knew who you were. I never once used yours or your friend's name in my story, so the fact that you're being perceived as an idiot right now is on you. You never needed to "defend" yourself until you identified who you are, but like someone else said it's not to late to change your gamertag and disappear. Lol, why you send link to the thread then?

Good to hear that lies and betrayal makes you love this game.

Dont jump to conclusions and then pretend that know what your talking about.

Shame you exaggerated most of the story, although it was pretty funny and convenient. From (Monolith) Doodle, one of the guys you shot.
