Stupidest Ways to Die in DayZ

Sneezing while crawling through a town full of zombies and accidentally left-clicking and firing a shot off with hardly any ammo -
Um...this is EXACTLY where you should post bugs

You guys are doing awesome work! I haven't had a chance to play in a while but when I do I'm sure I'll need something sooner or later. See you soon, ha -
I say increase the count, decrease the super-hearing/seeing, and make them run slightly slower than the player so there's a better chance of losing them. I haven't played 1.7.2 yet, just got out of work. But this has been my opinion about zombies in the game for a while.

I can't believe people get mad because he all of the sudden doesnt release a patch every other day like he did for a while. It's rediculous. You guys that do that are an insult to him and nothing more.

I'm kinda like Jesus, but not in a sacriligious way

As EVERYONE in this game will. The point is= doing something fun with the time while you have it, like the OP is doing. -
This is a thread about the patch, not arguing over something pointless.

I been on vacation. Just got back, so, sorry I didn't reply to your PM sooner. Let me know when you want to do another 'meeting'.

This pic is the error I get when joining a server (which all have red X's next to them now). I have the 1.7.1.5 files, and the latest beta patch. The game has worked fine for me since I've gotten it. I know what I'm doing and haven't done anything different to get this error. Any help would be much appreciated. Edit- After continuing searching, the only advice I saw was reinstalling the files, even though it didn't seem to work all the time. But it did for me :)

I get depressed everytime I read a thread like this. Hackers are destroying an awesome game...again.

This game is called a "simulation" for a reason. It's not non-stop action, and it's that way on purpose. This is also a very early version of the game, so many things will be changed and added. Instead of making redundant posts in the General Discussion section, you should come up with some ideas for new features that could be added/tested and post them in the Suggestions section or in one of the Update threads in the Announcements section.

Rocket-> THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN THIS AMAZING GAME...FIXED!
dph314 posted a topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
A solution for server-hopping  I think it will be fair and work like a charm. Idea---when someone logs into a server for the first time and spawns for the first time, that becomes they're 'primary' server for the time-being. When they log out, and then later log back in, they spawn right in the same spot like things work now. But, when they want to switch servers (log into one other than their 'primary'), they spawn at a random spawn point anywhere out in the wilderness anywhere on the map (that way you don't spawn on the coast near new players when you have good loot you've spent time collecting, and you also don't spawn in a town that is probably inhabited by another player and zombies). That server they logged into then becomes their 'primary', where they can log out and spawn where they left off, and the same random-wilderness spawn occurs everytime someone decides to 'switch' from their primary server. THIS SOLVES SERVER-HOPPING and still allows people to play in any server they want. PLEASE ROCKET, do something along these lines as a cure for server-hopping, so that awesome ideas like the Trading Post - http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=9239&pid=88809#pid88809 - as well as others where people want to set up a 'permanent settlement' will become possible. This technique would solve so many problems people are having, and is only a small inconvenience for people that legitimately want to switch servers. No more looting airstrips in 10 different servers in 10 minutes would be possible, no more spawning behind people during firefights would be possible, no more spawning in the middle of someone's encampment would be possible. I would love you even more Rocket if you did something like this. Teach those damn server-hoppers to take advantage of your awesome game! -
I feel so smart after reading this thread.

Can't wait Rocket. Looking forward to it :) Any reason there is a huge framerate drop when looking at buildings/towns, yet GPU usage stays really low? Something in buildings eating my fps for some reason?

-It seems like since hospitals are so uncommon, there should be morphine spawns in other places. I know it makes sense to have them spawn in only hospitals, but there needs to be some gameplay concern as well. If you're anywhere up north and not near Berezino's hospital and you break a leg from a doorway, your game is over unless you want to crawl for 10 hours to a hospital. -Zombies could be the main focus instead of ONLY player-killing if food spawns were less common and zombies had random food and other items spawn on them more often than elsewhere. This would encourage some zombie-killing and people to team-up more often to take over a town. But zombies would have to be fixed first. They keep coming too fast, in constant respawning waves, so sometimes it's hard to open fire in a town at all and make it out alive. Once zombies respawning is working better, and they have food on them more often than random spawn-points, shooting them would all of the sudden become more of a necessity.

I agree. Leaving the ammo where it is when moving weapons back and forth would be nice.
-
Because of the duplicate ammo. People would be stuck with something in their inventory that they couldn't get rid of. I believe that's what I saw Rocket say earlier.
-
Great so far, some issues though- 1) Zombies respawn a bit fast I think still (unless there was just a TON in the area). But if they are respawning that quick, it's kind of hard to "take over" a small town with your friends by wiping out all the zeds if they spawn again so quickly 2) Direct chat doesn't seem to be working (have correct files and am in correct server) 3) Picking up certain items drops ammo you already have in your inventory 4) Been said I think, but packs and medical crates can't be picked up/opened unless surrounding loot is picked up first 5) Framerate still drops tremendously when any buildings are in the frame Loving the game so far, only getting better :)
-
Love you Rocket. Game is running a lot better, less big FPS drops. But, will framerates be affected by this patch or future ones? I mean, would you be able to comment on terribly low FPS/GPU-usage? I get 30% GPU-usage half the time, and this hotfix didn't help too much (not a hardware bottleneck, running a 2500k @ 4.5Ghz). Is this the engine or DayZ? Everytime I look at buildings my framerate plummets into the 30s, but GPU usage has never gone above 40% :(

I hope it's possible to take over a part of town without having zombies respawn constantly, almost ensuring that you run out of ammo sooner or later. Me and a friend dropped around 50 zombies and they were STILL coming. Has zombie quick-respawn been fixed with this patch? I know the notes say spawning too close to player has been fixed, but even if they instantly respawn 100m away, they're going to hear the gunshots and come running anyways. So, insta-respawn might still be an issue?
